00:07The story takes place over 30 years after the events of Alien 3, Weyland-Yutani corporation
00:13has discovered this ancient predator pyramid and they've breached open this pyramid and
00:19discovered some alien eggs which has overrun the colony and the archeologists and the scientists
00:24that they have there. The story again takes place from three different perspectives so
00:28you will be able to play as the marine, the predator and the alien over one large story
00:32arc with the stories intertwining with each other.
00:37The team have done a great job of trying to make sure that the alien approach to gameplay
00:42is more primitive, more getting the feeling of being this kind of creature, this animal.
00:48So we've gone for a very different look in terms of visuals with the HUD and really trying
00:53to signpost to the player all the different abilities you can do as the alien. Obviously
00:56not having a projectile it's very important for the alien to get up and close and personal
01:01to its enemies. So the team have done a great job of making sure that the visuals really
01:05fit that and it feels right to be an alien. When you're actually killing a marine you've
01:11got the weight and the feeling and the agility of the alien's abilities. Obviously as well
01:16with the whole jump mechanics and the way that you can traverse around the whole environment,
01:21part of the criticism of the predecessors was it was quite hard to master the alien. And
01:26for casual gamers this time around we've put in a lot of automatic jumping points, ridicule
01:32points where you can jump to certain surfaces, really snapshot across the room and stuff.
01:39One of the key words for the alien gameplay is embrace the darkness. So the team have really
01:44focused on the light and dark elements within the level. So as an alien if you're in a dark
01:48area will obviously show visual science to suggest that you're in a dark area.
01:52One of the particular objectives is the survival of your race. So you'll be able to harvest civilians
01:58within our gameplay. And it's again just looking at what was great about the movies, the kind
02:03of hunting feel that we wanted to get across and we felt it was right to use civilians or scientists
02:08as part of that process. But there'll be other things that you might want to do narratively
02:12as part of the alien, which I can't really speak about right now.
02:18Rebellion has got some great tech and their AIO systems are really, really good. So you'll
02:22see a lot of flanking between Marines, a lot of coordination between them and how they approach
02:26the situation. One thing we didn't want to do when we were looking at the original design
02:32is we didn't want to have big signposts of going, they're on patrol or you've been found
02:36or here's the alert. So it's really about visually what you can see on screen. So you'll see gestural
02:41movements, you'll see lighting, you'll actually hear how they speak and what they're up to.
02:46With the alien, you've got heightened senses within vents and things like that. So you'll
02:50hear things that not other species can't, so the Marines and the Predator. We have different
02:54enemy types that will carry flame throwers and they'll approach vents a lot more carefully,
02:58they'll actually try and flush you out. So they'll be shooting fire through vents and
03:02really we're trying to capture the essence of all the movies and the types of things that
03:06they did in the movies. So there'll be sentry guns there as well. There's a load of
03:10of cool little things that they've put in there. We've got 18 player multiplayer and we have
03:18a four player co-op survivor mode as well. We're looking to release next year February and
03:23it will be on the PS3, 360 and PC.
