00:02And as I mentioned before, this car is ten times the polys of Forza Motorsport 2, four times the texture
00:07resolution.
00:07It looks beautiful, and this is all due to our new graphics engine.
00:12And you can see here some of the ways we make the game easier.
00:15So in Forza 1 and 2, we had the suggested line, again, used in many games now.
00:20Forza 3, we've added the auto brake. I'm turning it off, you'll see why.
00:26And of course, where else would we go while we're here but to Le Mans?
00:31So I'm actually also announcing Le Mans for the first time.
00:34This will be in Forza Motorsport 3, and we lovingly recreated it.
00:39When we come to create a track like this, we come on site for three days.
00:43We do aerial photography. We hire helicopters.
00:46We do GPS as well as satellite imagery.
00:50And the GPS is really key. We actually have people walk the entire track with GPS
00:55so that they can get every nook and cranny.
00:57And where they see cracks, they mark them down. We take crowning.
01:00Now, all of that attention to detail is important to us.
01:04What's even more important is the way we interact with drivers.
01:07We have a professional race car driver that's done hundreds of laps on Le Mans.
01:11He comes to our development house every three months to try out all the tracks that he's raced before, such
01:17as Le Mans.
01:18And he gives us insights that no camera ever could.
01:22While he's driving, he knows, oh, you avoid this bump.
01:25And there's three bumps here. And there's a chatter over there.
01:27And this is where you always brake.
01:29And there's an aspen tree here. Or there's a tree like this over here.
01:32And that's what he tells us. And we've captured all of that.
01:35Now, what's really cool was we were able to show the Peugeot drivers Le Mans yesterday.
01:41And having the real drivers come in and say, you have truly captured Le Mans is a big point of
01:49pride for me.
01:51Because we work so hard to make sure we're bringing a track like this.
01:54A track that I love. A track that I grew up watching the racing on.
01:57Bring that to everybody so they can really appreciate what's so amazing about this track and the true spectacle.
02:03You're also seeing, again, as I've mentioned a few times, the new graphics engine.
02:07Long draw distances, high detailed road textures.
02:10Let's actually start the race. Turn it up just a little bit.
02:32Let's let the other air go by.
02:43So as I mentioned, we have over 400 cars. That's over 400 cockpits as well.
02:48And of course, this being Forza Motorsport, every car is damageable.
02:52And now new to Forza Motorsport 3, every car can be rolled over.
02:56And this is a key part of making a race simulator.
02:58Rollovers happen.
02:59Now, I'll tell you, they're hard to happen in an LNP car like this.
03:02They have such a low center of mass.
03:04The likelihood that we're going to see a rollover during this demo is very low.
03:07In fact, probably non-existent.
03:10Taking other cars on, you would see it.
03:13Let's take a better look at this car.
03:17This, again, is that high level of detail car.
03:26Nope.
03:30Got to get around that portion.
03:35Ah, came out of the draft.
03:39This is not the type of traffic I want to be in.
03:42Uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh.
03:44This is bad.
03:46And here's where Gameplay Rewind comes in.
03:51I don't like the line I took.
03:54I don't think I did a very good job.
03:55Let's try it again.
03:57Oh, oh, come on.
03:58That's going to cut me off.
04:02Can't let them get away with that.
04:11And this allows you to truly perfect corners.
04:13But more than anything, it allows any player to get in and have a great time with the game.
04:39So, one thing you're also seeing here is that green line.
04:42This has proved to be very helpful for most players.
04:45The ability to just follow that green line all the way around.
04:49But I want to show you this full track, because I just think it's beautiful.
05:08You can see the bumps in the car as it's going down the straights.
05:11These are, again, bumps that were provided.
05:13All of the information about this was provided by actual race car drivers.
05:17And they were immediately noticed by the Peugeot pilots when they came and raced the track.
05:21It just changes the feel of the game entirely.
05:40I don't think that this car is going to beat Stefan Sarzan's lap by a long shot.
06:13So, I don't think that this car is going to be a good one.
06:21Here we go.
06:36Oh, off by quite a bit.
06:38I think we're going to have to get Stefan in here to show us how it's really supposed to be
06:42done.
06:44Let's switch back over.
