00:00Il nostro corso www.mesmerism.info
00:47I play a lotto videogame, ovviamente, comic books.
00:50I also like to do cose che riguarda l'art in generale,
00:53non necessariamente videogame art.
00:55I'm Jason Regeer, sono il lead software engineer di Diablo 3.
00:58I work with Jay and Cristian here
01:00and help take the visions that they come up with.
01:02Our team helps bring those visions to life.
01:04I'm a big soccer player. Soccer's kind of my game,
01:07so I love playing that in my free time.
01:09I also love movies a lot, long walks on the beach.
01:13That kind of stuff.
01:17Well, the design team is mostly balancing
01:21on the more systems-oriented side,
01:23so, like, we're just passing through and just going over.
01:26And when you make a game, you don't really fine-tune balance
01:30while you're going.
01:31It's just, you know, a system will change
01:33and it'll throw all your balance numbers out,
01:34so it's just kind of a waste of time.
01:35So we're locked down enough now
01:37that we're going through and just balancing from the ground up.
01:39It's all the quests are in place,
01:41all the areas we're going to go,
01:42but some of the quests are confusing
01:44and some areas don't have enough events,
01:46and so they're still kind of creating content.
01:49And then, yeah, I don't know what the programmers are doing.
01:52Wow, we're doing a lot of stuff right now.
01:55We're trying to finish up all the monsters.
01:58We're trying to finish up all of the skills
02:01and all of the rune variants.
02:03Our integration with Battle.net is changing,
02:07and we're trying to hook all of that stuff up.
02:10There's a lot of work going on right now behind the scenes.
02:14Features-wise, there's very little left that you guys are doing,
02:19but the stuff that comes up is, like, iteration on features.
02:22Like, we know our Quest UI right now is just not good enough,
02:25and so we're going to have to probably,
02:27we probably are going to have to change it.
02:29Yeah, we're going to be redoing UI a lot
02:31because that's one of those things
02:33that just keeps getting tweaked until the very last minute
02:36because gameplay and accessibility
02:37is such a huge part of the gameplay experience.
02:41is fun.
02:41Yeah, and playing the game.
02:43You've got to play the game a lot,
02:45and that's something that is hard to do
02:49when you're trying to push deadlines.
02:50It's really hard to stop and actually play the game
02:53and make sure that it's fun
02:55and that you're doing things right.
02:56A played game is a fun game.
02:59If you play your game constantly,
03:02then you will have no choice but to make it fun
03:04because it'll become grueling otherwise.
03:09Our goal is to get it out by the end of 2011.
03:13Right now, we're in spring.
03:15We're right around our second alpha
03:17and pushing towards an internal beta.
03:21We completely overhauled the way
03:23that we author all of the skills.
03:26That meant that we pretty much started over on everything
03:28and redid it all from scratch.
03:30So for us now, it's really just making sure
03:32that it looks as good as we possibly can make it
03:34within the time frame we have.
03:36Squeezing every little thing
03:37and making it look really, really good.
03:42Some of the guys on the team actually said
03:43they're going to start growing a beard until we ship,
03:45and somehow I got roped into it.
03:47I think out of the entire group,
03:48I'm actually the only one
03:49who's probably not really good at growing one
03:51and definitely don't think I'm really one who wants one.
03:55We have some professional beard growers.
03:57Yeah, we have some really good, talented guys.
03:59I just have no team spirit.
04:00That's why I'm not involved.
04:01No, no, you get itchy, though.
04:02No, I get a rash.
04:03You get really bad.
04:04I actually had a beard for a little while
04:05and I really liked it, but I got a big rash.
04:08What's your excuse, Jason?
04:09I actually, I asked my kids, I said,
04:11girls, do you want to see daddy with a beard?
04:14Because they've never seen me with a beard before.
04:15They said, no, just really fast, really strong.
04:19Vetoed by the children.
04:20Vetoed by the children.
04:21Yeah, sure, blame them.
04:21I've never grown a beard in my entire life,
04:23so this is a first for me,
04:24and this might be the last time.
04:26Oh, the ladies love your beard so far.
04:28Oh, hell no.
04:29Yes, they do.
04:30You don't like it, and therefore, but they love it.
04:34Yeah, so, look, I'm doing it for a team.
04:37And they're crowded around his desk.
04:39Yeah.
04:39And they're kind ofçon.
04:40No.
04:45You don't like it.
04:47друзья!
04:48Not so much fun.
04:48It's not even.
04:48No.
04:54I don't know.
