00:01Welcome to Chateau DIY Win The Dream,
00:04the ultimate renovation showdown.
00:06Whose idea was this?
00:08I want mine.
00:09Take it over me.
00:11Over four thrilling weeks, creativity meets competition.
00:14That looks wicked, doesn't it?
00:15Perfect fit. Oh, my gosh.
00:18As determined duos battle it out to prove...
00:21I'm having an absolute nightmare.
00:23They've got the vision, skill and grit
00:25to win the ultimate prize.
00:26I haven't got a clue.
00:27I can cry. I can literally cry.
00:30The keys to this breathtaking French property.
00:34Set on the outskirts of a Normandy nature park,
00:37the property boasts six bedrooms, four bathrooms,
00:42two salons, five additional rooms to renovate,
00:46perfectly pruned gardens, stunning outbuildings,
00:49its very own orchard and even a historic bread oven.
00:53It's a lot to play for and if we lose, I'll be fuming.
00:57Three heats and a grand finale where only the best will rise.
01:02All the pairs have to do is show they have the renovation know-how
01:06to impress me and various guest judges from Chateau DIY.
01:10I think this is really creative.
01:13What a transformation.
01:14In weekly challenges designed to push their creativity and skills to the limit.
01:19The clock is ticking.
01:20Win the week and they secure their spot in the grand finale.
01:24The dream is real, the stakes are high.
01:26This is Chateau DIY Win The Dream.
01:40Previously on Win The Dream.
01:42Wow!
01:43This guy's good.
01:44Go a bit faster.
01:46The pairs had to build their dream bedrooms.
01:48A lot is riding on this pink bed.
01:50Wish me luck.
01:52And whilst the Burgundies brought the romance.
01:55First impression.
01:56Oh wow, I think.
01:57Wow.
01:58I'm impressed.
01:59The Blues braved the bold.
02:02Super elegant.
02:03It's super suave.
02:04And both teams got one big wake-up call.
02:07And the pair winning this phenomenal prize will have to be decided after one last challenge.
02:19Are you ready?
02:20I'm nervous.
02:22But I'm ready.
02:23Yeah, me too.
02:25Feels very exciting to be at the final.
02:27Trying to guess what it is that we'll be doing but we have no idea.
02:31We have no idea what to expect and that's making the nerves feel even worse.
02:35Yeah, I'm just shaking.
02:37Very, very nervous.
02:39Yeah.
02:40It's all come down to this.
02:46Good morning and congratulations on securing your place in the final to win the keys to
02:51this quarter of a million pounds chateau.
02:55Over the weeks, you've shown you have the DIY skills to renovate a period French property.
03:00But as you know from your heat, it takes more than that to run a chateau.
03:04For your final challenge, I want you to prove you have what it takes to host this chateau's first ever
03:12event.
03:13Is that a relief?
03:15Yes.
03:15Yes.
03:17I've invited the town and the mairee so you'll both have to host a chateau warming party.
03:24Oh, no.
03:25So good.
03:27Oh, gosh.
03:28No pressure.
03:29That's awesome.
03:30You'll need to think about the theme, the food and drink and give them a guided tour of the chateau,
03:37including your business ideas and your principal bedrooms.
03:41Oh, cool.
03:42Nice.
03:43OK.
03:43Nice.
03:44Yeah.
03:44All before you give a speech to prove why you deserve to win the chateau and what you plan for
03:50the property's future.
03:54You can do that.
03:55I cannot.
03:56Yeah.
03:56I'm giving you a budget of 400 euros per pair, so make every euro count.
04:01Let's do it again.
04:04As it's the final, there will be no guest judges this week. I've been with you since the beginning, so
04:11I'll be choosing who wins.
04:12That's nice.
04:13This is what you've all been working so hard for, so give it everything you've got.
04:19This place needs to be party ready in 48 hours, so get going.
04:25That's not a lot of time.
04:27Both pairs will be catering for 30 guests and will need to split their budget between food, drink and any
04:33design elements that tie into their themes.
04:36I've got loads of ideas.
04:38I'm thinking, like, a bougie charcuterie grazing table, everything kind of being quite, like, light, quite healthy, nothing, like, stodgy,
04:46like a big tiered Prosecco stand.
04:49OK.
04:50Or some cool display of, like, lots of, like, champagne.
04:52Yeah.
04:53You feel like you've done the whole thing?
04:56Fine. So buffet-style food, what are you thinking?
04:59That's bollier.
05:00No, it's too expensive.
05:01Well, wine's not expensive here.
05:03Well, let's see how much beef is.
05:05I think it'll be OK. There's plenty of cows around here.
05:09I'm thinking, like, you could take ownership of the grazing table.
05:12Yeah.
05:13Maybe we can bring in, like, something hot.
05:16Potentially.
05:17Potentially we could do something hot.
05:19But maybe most of it's, like, cold and people can eat as they want.
05:23You're quite a good baker, so I thought that maybe you might bake something sweet.
05:26Yeah.
05:27Erm, like a bass cheesecake maybe.
05:30We could do, yeah.
05:30We'll have a think. We'll have a think. But that's good.
05:32Cool.
05:33We could make a little stand. Like, what do you call it? Like a pedestal?
05:38Just for decorative purposes.
05:40Yeah, for decoration.
05:41Cos I don't want to... I don't want to skip over that part.
05:43It's quite an important thing.
05:44Right.
05:45And it needs to feel grand. It is a chateau.
05:47Yeah.
05:48I'm not interested in garden games, really.
05:50We could do some organised fun with, like, yoga.
05:53Like, people could do, like, a trial session.
05:56Garden games.
05:59We'll see what we can find. Garden games are quite hard to do.
06:03Let's see...
06:03Coconut Shy, that's easy.
06:04Let's see what we can find.
06:05There has to be, like, a background of some sort for a photo op.
06:09So we could make...
06:10There's a lot of stuff going into this 400-year-old project.
06:11We could make, like, an archway or something, or a... I don't know what.
06:14Just saying.
06:15OK, well, we need to narrow it all down.
06:18I think we should go shop.
06:19Yeah?
06:20I think we should go to the workshop first
06:21and just claim some wood and materials
06:23in case we want to build anything.
06:25Yeah.
06:25And then I think we should head out.
06:26Yeah. Cool.
06:27I think we should look around the property
06:29and see if there's anything we can repurpose or use.
06:33OK. That's a good idea.
06:35OK.
06:36So, this is coming with us.
06:38OK.
06:39Definitely.
06:41After salvaging their favourite pieces from the workshop,
06:44Josh and Josh head out in search of a bargain,
06:47while Sav and Tash start work on their builds.
06:50Right.
06:50I think these are the two best pieces, so...
06:52Yeah.
06:52You can knock up a plinth in five minutes, can't you,
06:54and I'll start painting it.
06:55I can knock up as many as I like.
06:56Yeah.
06:56We're going to make two plinths out of these floorboards.
07:00We're going to reuse, upcycle,
07:02and then I'll paint them,
07:04and then Sav is going to make a garden game as well.
07:08Lots to do.
07:11We have been shopping, and it was really successful, yeah.
07:14We've spent 150 euros,
07:18which is a big chunk of the budget,
07:19but actually we've got loads.
07:21Like, we feel like we've got everything we need
07:22for our table decoration.
07:24We've got a healthy amount of budget left
07:25to pay for food and drinks.
07:27So I think we're on track.
07:28Yeah.
07:36Definitely didn't just, uh,
07:38saw off the corner of the workshop for me.
07:41You saw nothing.
07:44For this challenge,
07:45both pairs have been encouraged
07:47to reuse resources used throughout the competition.
07:50Back from the shops,
07:51Josh and Josh are repurposing wood
07:53to build stands for their decorations.
07:57You know, like, say,
07:58if we get two trestle tables, hold that,
08:00and if we put them sort of, like,
08:02on the edge like this...
08:03Yeah.
08:04..and then find a way,
08:05and then we can get, like, some, like, cute...
08:07Well, could we not join these up?
08:09We could get another piece.
08:10That's what I was saying.
08:11And then join them up.
08:12And then have some sort of, like,
08:13hanging thing.
08:14Yeah.
08:15I love using this little engraving tool.
08:18This is going to be our plinth-looking flowers,
08:21so I'm decorating it with all of the wisteria.
08:24So it all ties in together with our ideas.
08:28So we're going to drill up into that.
08:29Yeah.
08:30There's already two holes there, though.
08:31I know.
08:33Usually I do the drilling and all of this,
08:35but Josh has now taken the leaves,
08:38which is great.
08:39He's got the confidence to do it now.
08:40He just does it.
08:41I love it.
08:42Yeah.
08:43I feel like I've found my new passion in life.
08:47Gorgeous.
08:49Cool.
08:50That feels strong?
08:51Yeah.
08:56What are you two making?
08:57Hello.
08:59So we have decided to sort of set up the two tables side-by-side,
09:06and then we're going to create three of these,
09:08one at each end and one in the centre.
09:11They're going to create, like, a bit of height
09:12that we can hang some LED lighting and some foliage from.
09:16So the eyes feel like they're not just, like, looking down,
09:19they've got a whole thing going on.
09:21So what's the theme for the space?
09:23We're kind of trying to bring in the rooms that we've done so far,
09:27so kind of the studio that we're in now with the bedroom,
09:29the colour palette, into this garden party.
09:32So we're kind of bringing the indoors, outdoors.
09:35It's all coherent and it all ties together beautifully.
09:39So what's the menu for the event?
09:40The main focus is going to be a grazing platter.
09:43So we're going to do lots of, like, charcuterie board,
09:46sort of, like, light nibbly bits.
09:47We're trying to pick a menu that we're, like, comfortable with,
09:50that's not going to be such a huge challenge
09:51and that we can realistically afford and make in the time limit.
09:55We want to feel chill on the day of the event.
09:57Great. Feeling confident?
09:59Yeah.
09:59I think so.
10:00I think we're feeling quite confident.
10:02We don't want to feel too confident,
10:03but this is something that we genuinely enjoy.
10:05I'm excited to see these lights
10:07and I'm even more excited to sample some of that food.
10:10See you soon.
10:12Whilst the blues seem bright and breezy,
10:14the weather looks set to rain on their parade.
10:19Maybe a bit lower, like that?
10:20No, that's too low.
10:22Like...
10:23Oh!
10:25Really living the dream now.
10:26It's like a home from home.
10:29Hopefully, if it's raining today, it won't be raining on the party day.
10:33Get it all out.
10:34Get it all out now.
10:36Because otherwise this is going to be a very interesting party.
10:50It's the grand finale of win the dream, and two pairs competing in one final challenge.
10:56Yeah, I'll do that.
10:57Do we need some paint or something?
10:58Yeah, any furniture paint?
10:59There's furniture paint over there.
11:01For their last hurrah, each pair must hold a celebratory garden party, complete with refreshments, a speech, and a tour
11:07of their renovations.
11:09Went through the table.
11:11These little pieces of wood are going to be turned into tiny little tables, just to put things on on
11:15the grazing table.
11:16So there's different layers to it.
11:19We want to tie it into our murder mystery room, but we also want to tie it into what we've
11:22decided to name the chateau.
11:24Fleur violette.
11:25Yeah.
11:25Chateau of the purple flowers.
11:28Nearly at the halfway mark, Josh and Josh are painting their decoration stands.
11:33Do you want us to get it everywhere like that, but you don't?
11:34I will. I'll write that in.
11:36Slow down a little bit.
11:38While Sav is making the bean bags for his cornhole game.
11:41So it goes like that.
11:44I'm very accomplished on the sewing machine.
11:47I had a go at it in the petite challenge, back in the heaps, and I quite enjoyed it.
11:51I'm virtually pro level at this point, so I'm going to give winding the bobbin up a go.
11:59Now what?
12:01Do you want me to come and have a look?
12:03Yes.
12:05Preferably.
12:07Oh, I got it.
12:07I did it.
12:09OK, hang on.
12:09Try with the pedal, yeah.
12:11Is it switched on?
12:13No.
12:13Is the machine switched on?
12:14No, it's not switched on.
12:15No.
12:20Good start.
12:22As the day draws to a close, the pairs are one step closer to winning this life-changing property.
12:29We're already one day down, so it's kind of moving really fast, and we haven't had time to really think
12:37about our ideas.
12:37We're just kind of trusting our gut.
12:39I think the pressure's just on.
12:40Mm-hmm.
12:41There's so much that can go wrong with things like cooking, and making drinks, and weather, and all sorts.
12:47Like, there's always a lot of uncontrollables, so of course, yeah, it's nerve-wracking.
12:50And there's so much on the line, so much at stake for us, and we just want to get it
12:55right.
13:03It's a new day at the Chateau, and with just over 24 hours to go...
13:07Shall we go through the menu?
13:08Yeah.
13:09..both pairs have hit the ground running.
13:11We said about that, though, didn't we?
13:13Yeah.
13:14Whilst Josh and Josh are working on signage for the garden party, Zav and Tash are drawing up a shopping
13:20list.
13:20There's gluten-free dishes, there's vegan dishes, vegetarian dishes, and meat dishes.
13:24Yeah, and we can make a lot of it ahead.
13:27Wow, I was...
13:29Oh.
13:29Hello, hello.
13:30Hello.
13:31You look deep in thought.
13:32You making plans?
13:33Yes.
13:34We are making plans.
13:35Are you going to film me in and tell me all about them?
13:37Yeah, sure.
13:37So, we're going to be making some beef bourguignon tarts, which we're very excited about, and a tartaflette, because obviously
13:45we're in Normandy.
13:46And we're going to make it vegetarian, so there's a nice, hearty vegetarian option.
13:49And we're putting out some garlic mushroom toast for vegans.
13:52We've got a caprese salad, some prosciutto-wrapped figs, and we're making two desserts.
13:58So, we've got an apple tart and a chocolate mousse.
14:01That's an awful lot of stuff.
14:03But we're here to impress.
14:04We have to go all guns blazing.
14:06Right.
14:06This is the final.
14:07But it's not a 17-course meal, you realise.
14:10And you're sure you can pull all that off?
14:13Yep.
14:13We think so.
14:14I can't believe how calm you both look right now.
14:18You are one challenge away from winning this.
14:21I know.
14:22I know.
14:22It is very surreal.
14:24It is in our minds all the time now, which is why we are pushing ourselves to the absolute limit.
14:29Like, we have to show everything that we can.
14:30Now, you two are notoriously good with budgeting.
14:33How's it looking?
14:34We haven't spent any budget yet.
14:38We've been making all the props ourselves in the workshop.
14:40So, all the budget is still intact.
14:43The plan is to use it today.
14:45So, we're going to use almost all the budget on the food and drink, because that is the key, I
14:49think, to people having a good time.
14:50I'm feeling a level of confidence in the room.
14:53I like it.
14:54We'll see.
14:56Fingers crossed.
14:57Yeah.
14:59So, lots of painting for me this morning, which is my favourite skill.
15:04I feel very strange, because I feel like I didn't even recognise myself.
15:09I'm doing things that I never thought I would be able to do.
15:12Just, like, knocking these posts up.
15:14I feel really, like, weirdly confident and empowered with DIY.
15:18Josh just, like, fuels me with confidence, because he never doubts it.
15:20He's just like, do it.
15:21If it goes wrong, then we'll do it again.
15:23He's a great little cheerleader to work with.
15:25So, yeah, it's great.
15:27I feel, I feel, I feel really proud that we've both managed to get this far and, like, do crazy
15:32things.
15:33And, like, yeah.
15:39Neither have done any food and drink preparation, and whilst Josh and Josh hit the supermarket...
15:44We've got a lot to buy, so it's going to be a fast and furious supermarket dash.
15:54Hiya.
15:56Let's grab it, then, yeah?
15:57Tash and Zav make a quick stop at the Bracant next door for decorations.
16:01Yeah, we're very pleased to have our little purple flower vase.
16:04I think it's very cute and apt.
16:06Before joining them...
16:07Some nice clothes in it.
16:09Tash, we are not shopping for clothes for kids.
16:11I know, but...
16:13Nice bits.
16:14You've got three little boards, haven't you?
16:16Okay, yeah.
16:16So you've got three of everything.
16:17Okay.
16:18Well, we definitely want a brie.
16:20Not a brie, a camembert.
16:21We want a blue cheese.
16:23Camembert de Normandy.
16:24That looks fab.
16:25This is expensive, so it must be good.
16:27That's my method.
16:29I only like cheddar.
16:31So this is...
16:33I have no idea.
16:36So that's $12.50 on berries.
16:39Yeah.
16:40It's like being at home with the kids.
16:42Look at all this anxiety.
16:44Well, we budgeted €70 for our platter, and we've already spent $88.50.
16:50And we've only got two items on the cheese board list, and there's currently...
16:53One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eighty-nine...
16:56Twenty items to go.
16:58Garlic.
16:58Is that garlic?
16:59That's garlic.
17:01Holy...
17:02That's French garlic.
17:03That is some good-looking garlic.
17:06Red onion.
17:07Is that an onion?
17:09Cucumber.
17:10Is it fruit?
17:11Is it a veg?
17:13Thyme?
17:15Nope.
17:15Thyme.
17:15Chives?
17:16That's mint.
17:17Mint.
17:18So what's this?
17:19That's chives, I think.
17:20Is it?
17:21Yeah.
17:22I think I know what basil looks like.
17:24I'm going to go over here and find some basil.
17:27Mmm.
17:28Lots of different kinds of beef.
17:31Yeah, we could use that.
17:33Special offer as well.
17:35Yeah, go and get them.
17:36Show them in.
17:37I'm bored of shopping now.
17:39What do I know about wine?
17:43I know I drink it.
17:45I don't know.
17:45This one could do for cooking.
17:46It's five euro or something.
17:54So there's some things like this, which is like a box.
17:57It has different things in it.
17:58That's three euros.
17:59I think you should get Ritz.
18:00Ritz?
18:01We need something nicer.
18:03What about Tuck?
18:05Tuck?
18:06They don't have the same selection, so I'll do.
18:08I think this is good sour cream and onion.
18:09Great.
18:10What about something like these?
18:11Cheese and fromage.
18:12What about these?
18:13These are cheap.
18:14We're getting these.
18:14We'll get them as well first.
18:16We need some more plain and look nice, Josh.
18:19They're getting Tuck.
18:20Are they not good?
18:22Yeah, they are, but I'm just looking for other things.
18:24We're getting the balance here.
18:25We've gone for really high-quality meat,
18:27gone for a mid-quality cheese.
18:28We're going for cheap crackers.
18:30It's all about balance, guys.
18:31Balance.
18:33Where is Fizz?
18:34I think it's over here, maybe.
18:36With both pairs having spent money on their decorations,
18:40their food shop bill must fall within their remaining budget.
18:43It's a tense moment.
18:45I think you're going to run out of money.
18:48No, we have 382.
18:51Well, we'll see.
18:53Oh, 247, right.
18:55Okay, what are we losing?
18:56I think we can lose something.
18:58What, like?
18:59We're about 10 euros over.
19:01I think we need the jars more than the dip.
19:03What?
19:03No, they're for the cheeses.
19:05Are you joking?
19:05What do you want to lose?
19:08I could change that rum for one bottle of rum.
19:10One cremo, one red, one white.
19:12Get rid of it.
19:13Wait, are we going to be able to fold the bread tomorrow?
19:15We can't fold them.
19:17We've got bread.
19:18No, we didn't.
19:18We said we're going to go and get that tomorrow from the local bakery.
19:21Okay.
19:22So I don't think we need these jars.
19:24Okay.
19:24Losing the jars.
19:25Yeah, we can, I think so.
19:26Okay, let's hit this off.
19:28And this off.
19:29My head's mashed.
19:33I got the budgeting wrong.
19:34I think Tasha didn't tell me about some of the things she put in the box.
19:39With both budgets back on track, back at the Chateau, they carry on with their party prep.
19:44For this challenge, the pairs have access to a fully equipped catering kitchen.
19:50Just paint this little pane table, and then we're going to get cooking.
19:55But yeah, very chill.
19:57No stress.
19:58No need for stress.
20:01Just starting on the beef.
20:02Bouguignon, which needs to be cooked today.
20:05I've never cooked for this many people before, so very daunting.
20:10What do you reckon they're making?
20:11Something to do with potato.
20:13Dauphin wild potato kind of thing.
20:15I think Tasha and Zav will be really good hosts at the party.
20:18I think, you know, they're both lovely, charismatic people, very kind.
20:21So there will be tough competition.
20:23There's nothing awkward about them two.
20:24No.
20:24They're very, very likeable.
20:26Zav has all the chat.
20:28Although we are serving French food to French people,
20:31I think it's very fitting to have some of our favourite things on the menu.
20:37Because this is slightly about us at this point.
20:40About us winning that chateau.
20:42So I want to make drinks that I like.
20:46That's why we've got the bee's knees on the menu.
20:48When we first met, I made Tash a few too many bee's knees cocktails.
20:53It impresses the ladies, let me tell you.
21:02So we're going to start by baking the cheesecake.
21:04Josh makes a really good cheesecake.
21:06He's a really good baker.
21:08My cooking skills are fairly average.
21:12I'm never allowed to cook because Josh just always cooks better than me.
21:15I'd rather cook than when he gets home from a long day's work.
21:19He doesn't have to do anything. He can just chill.
21:22My job is the bins. Josh has never touched them bins in his life.
21:24I just put stuff in them.
21:33Oh, hey guys. Hello.
21:35Smells good. Smells very good.
21:37As Zav and Tash progress with their menu, the Joshes start work on their cheesecake.
21:42It's like tools. So that's it. That's the one that's done.
21:47My role is measuring passing.
21:51It brings the fun to the kitchen.
21:54And when I'm being serious, being like, don't touch that, don't touch that, he brings...
21:59Josh, stand up.
22:00Josh!
22:04I'll dust you down.
22:06Bless him.
22:09If we weren't here, I'd probably kill him out there.
22:12You would.
22:13Oh, God.
22:14You got a good.
22:15Right.
22:16What else can we do?
22:19Here he comes to stare the path.
22:23Oh, look at this. You're all working together.
22:26What are we making, Tash?
22:27We're making beef bourguignon and tartar flette.
22:30You're preparing a very traditional French dish to serve to French people.
22:36Yeah.
22:36Is that wise or risky?
22:37It's one of our favourites and we cook it all the time, otherwise we wouldn't be doing it.
22:42So...
22:43Tash has a great beef bourguignon.
22:44Are we all cooking something we're familiar with?
22:47We're making the bass cheesecake, which I've done quite a few times,
22:51and then we're doing, like, a charcuterie board, which we have done but just not on this scale before.
22:56This is fun, isn't it?
22:57Because usually you don't play it safe, but it feels like you're reining in a little bit for this challenge.
23:02I think because it's the final, we wanted to just manage our time and expectations,
23:07not stress out, and we wanted to both be, like, present, front of house,
23:10when the party actually starts.
23:11We didn't want someone to be kind of, like, stuck in the kitchen.
23:13Well, I can't wait to taste all of these dishes.
23:16Crack on.
23:20Whoa!
23:21That's too hot.
23:22That's way too hot.
23:23Get it out of the pan.
23:25As the day draws to a close, they all squeeze in the last few minutes of prep before the big
23:30day.
23:32I think it'll only dawn on us when we go home tonight that this is our final sleep before judgment
23:38day.
23:39Yeah.
23:39It's really sad, in a way, because it's the end.
23:42Yeah, we don't want it to end.
23:45And that is going to be our honey syrup for the bee's knees.
23:50We're trying to hold our nerve, I think is how I would describe it.
23:53It's a very, very big day coming up.
23:56We want to just do ourselves proud, and we're pushing ourselves to the limit, as we always do.
24:01And, yeah, hopefully we'll get it all across the line.
24:15It's the final day of the competition, and two hours until the guests arrive.
24:20Both pairs have one last opportunity to convince me they deserve to win the chateau of their dreams.
24:27Nervous?
24:28Trying to distract myself by cooking.
24:31Best way to stay nerve-free.
24:33This is when I chop my finger off.
24:36Whilst keen to impress with their food and drink provisions, the pairs will also give a speech and a guided
24:41tour of the property.
24:42The bowl's cold, so I'm just trying to...
24:46It's right.
24:47Got to warm it up.
24:49Just got to rub that cheese.
24:50I'm not sure about this.
24:52I am just finishing off this tablecloth.
24:56And then I've got to do one more tablecloth, and then I'm on to cooking and decor, basically.
25:01I think sewing is definitely the calmest job that's available to do today, so I've very cleverly given it to
25:06myself.
25:07That's lovely, that.
25:08And the lemon in that is so good.
25:11Burnt some sugar.
25:12This time I'm going to try and keep an eye on the caramel.
25:15Servier is a bag of nerves today.
25:18That goes in there, and then we need pastry.
25:21He's not his usual jokey self.
25:22I think he's taking today very seriously.
25:24He knows what's on the line, he knows what's at stake, and it's not funny.
25:27So, I think he's working very hard.
25:33I think you're being a bit stingy there.
25:34Let's get a good scoop.
25:35You can go over the top of mine.
25:37I'm just trying to make sure that everyone has got something.
25:39Get it on.
25:40Get it on thick.
25:41This is the final push.
25:44It is the last thing to go in the oven.
25:49We're almost there.
25:50It's definitely brightening up a little bit.
25:52Oh, the sun, is that the sun?
25:54Oh.
25:54As we said that.
25:56The sun, the sun is on us.
25:58The sun.
25:58Final line.
25:59Got a bit of sun.
26:01Tasha, are you done?
26:03I think I'm done.
26:04Let's go then.
26:05Go upstairs, get changed, come back down for the final bit, and then...
26:09OK.
26:10We're done.
26:11Let's go.
26:12Let's go.
26:14With preparations nearly complete, they all down tools to get party ready.
26:20You smell your hair a little bit.
26:21Yeah.
26:22Fluff it up.
26:24Are we OK?
26:25How are you feeling?
26:26Sick as a dog.
26:27Me too.
26:28Sick, sick, sick.
26:30I actually can't believe this is, you know, the end of the competition.
26:35It's so strange.
26:36Yeah, it's crazy.
26:37It's so strange.
26:38And this is...
26:39It's all come down to, like, this party now.
26:42Both of these pairs have worked so incredibly hard and given it everything,
26:46and I'm really excited to see the results of this Chateau's first ever event.
26:52The gutters.
26:54Yeah.
26:55Good luck.
26:56Love you.
27:01With the guests arrival imminent, the pairs put the finishing touches on their tablescapes.
27:06Quite windy.
27:07I'm getting rained on the game.
27:10Just be careful on my shoes.
27:12Yeah.
27:16Everything's blowing over.
27:17It's going to blow.
27:18Yeah, I know it's going to blow over, but it's windy.
27:19Like, what can we do?
27:23And then...
27:34Oh, my God.
27:35There goes me hat.
27:37Oh, my God.
27:39Can anyone put something on there?
27:42Crackers everywhere.
27:46This is quite stressful, isn't it?
27:48Ugh.
27:48Not ideal, is it?
27:50Can't do anything about it, to be honest.
27:52It's the weather.
27:53The glamorous life of...
27:56Woohoo!
28:06Ça va?
28:07Bienvenue.
28:08C'est crément, c'est du crément, si vous voulez.
28:10Hello.
28:11Welcome to our garden party.
28:14As guests begin to arrive...
28:17There's beef bourguignon tarts, chocolate mousse, apple tarts, cheese board.
28:22Bubbles.
28:23Bubbles.
28:24Bubbles, yeah.
28:25The pairs take the opportunity to get to know the local community.
28:30Ross, I'm Josh, and also Josh as well, over here.
28:33My name is Tasha, and that's Xavier.
28:35It's been very, very stressful, but we've loved it, yeah.
28:38We're very nervous, and the weather's not great, but we're making it work.
28:43And with the Mary in attendance, the pressure is certainly on.
28:46Bonjour.
28:47Nice to meet you, how are you?
28:48Nice to meet you.
28:48Nice to meet you, are you okay?
28:50Okay.
28:50Yeah, good, yeah.
28:51Thank you for coming.
28:52Oh, it's, uh, nothing.
28:54Yeah, yeah.
28:56Oh!
28:57You don't speak French?
28:58No.
28:59No.
29:00I...
29:01Tell my own name.
29:04When you have a dream.
29:05Yeah, exactly.
29:05A dream, exactly.
29:06Exactly, yeah.
29:08There's only one left!
29:11All of the tarts are already gone, because everyone said they're amazing, so...
29:15It's good.
29:16You've got a bit of bourguignon left, it's not in a tart, but I can bring it out in a
29:20bowl,
29:20and people might want to just help themselves, so I think I'll see if we can do that.
29:23All right.
29:24Get it all over there.
29:26Enjoy.
29:27Cheesecake.
29:27Yeah, bass cheesecake, would you like to try some?
29:29I'm gonna put that there, I'm just gonna grab you a spoon, you can take the both of them.
29:32Yeah, bakes the cheesecake, yeah, bakes it this morning.
29:35Would you like to try some of the chocolate ganache that goes with it?
29:37Yeah, you must.
29:39I want the recipe for that.
29:40That cheesecake!
29:42You have to try it, I've also got a chocolate ganache to go with it.
29:45It really looks amazing.
29:46Well, I can send it to you about it.
29:48Very good.
29:49Thank you very much.
29:49Very good.
29:50It's so much more popular than I expect it to be, so now we're gonna heat up some bourguignon,
29:55and I will bring up bowls a bit, because I think people are just gonna love it.
29:58So, it's going very well.
30:03It's so lovely to meet all the locals and spend some time speaking to everyone,
30:07I think it's just lovely, and I want to be present, so I need to get back as soon as
30:11possible,
30:11but, yeah, I also want nice, warm food for their bellies.
30:16We're both dancers.
30:17Oh, fabulous!
30:18Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
30:19You'll have to show us some moves in the studio, we could do a little pas de deux together.
30:24How's it going?
30:25It's going good, yeah.
30:27Lots of people here, which is good, and the rain stopped just in time.
30:29Just in time.
30:30Yeah, just in the week of time.
30:31Right and down.
30:32Perfectly.
30:33Would you like to sample some of our food?
30:35I absolutely would.
30:36So, would you like to sample something sweet or savoury?
30:38We've got our platter of lots of local meats and cheeses.
30:43We've got Josh's Basque cheesecake with chocolate ganache.
30:46I'll go savoury first.
30:47OK, savoury.
30:47So, we've got our Provençal Garden Tarte, which is goat's cheese base.
30:51Enjoy.
30:52This is all homemade.
30:53This is all homemade with love this morning.
30:55We've been busy baking away.
30:58It's delicious.
30:59It's good.
31:00Plenty of impressed guests.
31:02Yeah, everyone seems like they're enjoying themselves.
31:04What I really like about your tablescaping is the height that you've added.
31:07It just draws the eye.
31:08Even with a food challenge, you're adding your interior design flair.
31:12Totally, and I'm so impressed that we managed to knock these up so quickly.
31:15It was just like scrap wood in the workshop.
31:17And it looks great.
31:18How's Josh?
31:19Where is he?
31:19He'll be mingling somewhere.
31:21Oh, look, he's over there.
31:22He's working his magic.
31:23Socialising.
31:23He's working the crowd.
31:24Yeah, that's what he does best.
31:26Go and help yourself some food before it all blows.
31:28Well, good luck.
31:28Thank you so much.
31:29Just, like, talking to everyone.
31:30Like, I'm turning my head and then people are just, yeah, turning up.
31:33And, yeah, it's great.
31:34I mean, everyone's loving the cheesecake.
31:36Here we go.
31:36We've got someone eating the cheesecake now.
31:42Good.
31:43Very fun.
31:45The nerves are, the nerves are going down a bit now, thankfully.
31:50Bubbles, is you okay?
31:52I think you missed the pies.
31:54You didn't save me any, Tash.
31:55In which case, can I have one of your legendary bee's knees, please?
32:00Oh, there you go.
32:01I didn't get one last time.
32:02Did you not?
32:03Oh, well, I've got you.
32:05The food is almost all gone already.
32:07Yeah.
32:07Yeah, we're having to heat up some more beef.
32:09You've got to move quick.
32:10That is praise indeed.
32:12If French people are eating your French dish.
32:14Exactly, yeah.
32:14They love it.
32:15Well, the bourguignon's already gone.
32:18How are you finding it?
32:19Good.
32:19It's much easier once it starts.
32:21The pressure, well, not the pressure, but the stress dies down a bit.
32:26As your nerves died down, the wind kicked up.
32:29Yeah, the wind went up.
32:31Worried?
32:32No.
32:33Never worried, Matt.
32:34I believe in us.
32:36Merci beaucoup.
32:37Don't drink it all at once.
32:38It's quite strong, so be careful on those.
32:40Oh, that is good, isn't it?
32:42Are you trying to get me junk?
32:44Junk?
32:44There you go.
32:45It worked.
32:47You are.
32:47It is working.
32:48I'm going to stumble over there.
32:49All right.
32:50Bye.
32:51He seems very pleased with his drink.
32:53Yeah.
32:56Did we do enough?
32:57I really want it to be enough.
32:58I feel like the games went well.
33:01Then we made loads of dishes which all went down really well, so I was really proud of all of
33:04that.
33:05Every single item of food on that table was handmade by us.
33:08Yeah.
33:09And...
33:09And the tablecloth it went on.
33:10And the tablecloth it went on.
33:12Within the timeframe, we did as much as possible.
33:14Does anybody else want some cake?
33:17Is that enough, Bia?
33:17There you go.
33:18Do you want some more?
33:18Is that enough, Bia?
33:19Oh, she's having more.
33:21It definitely felt like our party.
33:23Like, I felt like I was looking over at Josh to make sure that he was okay throughout.
33:27And he seemed in his element like he usually is.
33:30There you go.
33:31Enjoy.
33:31Enjoy.
33:32I feel really proud of what we achieved today.
33:34Like, we managed to pull off a party in 48 hours.
33:37I think we worked really fast.
33:38We worked really hard.
33:39Everyone loved the food.
33:40The cake disappeared.
33:41They couldn't stop saying how much they loved our vision for the property.
33:45So that was really exciting.
33:47It felt...
33:47It's weird because they kept saying to us,
33:50Oh, so when are you moving in?
33:51How are you doing this?
33:53Another drink?
33:53Another drink.
33:54If we won the Chateau, then you can...
33:56We can open the doors and you can absolutely come here.
33:58Pray for us.
33:59Manifest.
34:15It's the final challenge of the competition.
34:17And with the garden party in full swing,
34:19the pairs take to the Chateau to show the guests around their renovations.
34:23So this is our murder mystery suite.
34:25Murder mystery dining room.
34:27Come on in.
34:28After impressing with their business ideas...
34:30Come on.
34:31Let's make some space.
34:32Let's go.
34:34Oh, yeah!
34:36For everyone.
34:39We can write anyone into the script.
34:42Both pairs then show off their bedrooms.
34:45Here we go.
34:47This is our principal bedroom that we've designed.
34:49If we were to win the Chateau, this is where we'd sleep.
34:52Okay, come on through.
34:54Come on through.
34:54So this is the first bedroom that we've renovated in-house.
34:59Good.
35:00I love that.
35:01Do you like it?
35:02Yeah.
35:02Yeah.
35:02My mum has been sending me links to properties in France.
35:06It's been relentless.
35:08For years.
35:10For years.
35:11Since the advent of social media, my mother has been doing that.
35:15So it's always been a dream to come and live here.
35:19It's obviously amazing to have you guys here.
35:22And thank God, because you're lighting in the mood for us.
35:24But underneath, we're like, we're shaking.
35:29Maybe we should go and get another drink.
35:31Oh, absolutely.
35:32I'll follow you out.
35:33After you.
35:35To finish the event, the pairs have the opportunity to give a speech, explaining to me and their
35:41guests why they deserve to win.
35:43Thank you so much, everybody, for coming to the garden party.
35:46Did you enjoy the food and drink?
35:47Yes.
35:49Your potential new neighbours would like to say a few words.
36:00Mesdames et Messieurs, Monsieur le Mayor, chers amis de longue date et nouveau.
36:05Ladies and gentlemen, Mr Mayor, treasured friends old and new, we are Xavier and Tasha.
36:12And we wanted to explain, for those of you who don't know us, a little bit about how we got
36:16here today.
36:17Years ago, after we first met, we started dreaming of moving to France, owning a chateau and restoring it to
36:24its former glory.
36:25We have two children together, and although it's been incredibly difficult to be away from them,
36:29we want nothing more for them than a future in which they can play on this beautiful lawn
36:34and become part of the very fabric of this amazing town.
36:37We have been engaged for two years, and winning would give us the opportunity to finally walk down the aisle,
36:43using this chateau and its grounds as the venue, and for incredible memories to be made.
36:52Sorry.
36:59Finally, we believe we deserve to win the keys to this stunning property,
37:02as we have poured our heart and soul into learning the perseverance, skill and passion it takes to run a
37:07successful chateau.
37:09And know we would do this building and its town very proud for generations to come.
37:19Well done.
37:22Good luck.
37:23Well done, guys.
37:24Thank you so much, Zav and Tash.
37:26I think everybody here can see how much this means to you.
37:29Over to you, Josh and Josh.
37:40Bonjour.
37:41Hello.
37:42Thank you for being here and sharing this moment.
37:45It means the world to us.
37:46This chateau is more than a building, more than a prize.
37:50It's a turning point for us.
37:52A new beginning.
37:54The past few years have been challenging for us.
37:57We know what it feels like to be lost.
37:59To feel like you don't belong.
38:01Or feel like you're losing your purpose.
38:09This competition has helped us to find purpose again.
38:12And with that, we've found new joy.
38:18Come on.
38:19Back off.
38:19Back off.
38:23We've been able to discover more about ourselves
38:25and been able to express ourselves in a new way.
38:28This time not through dance, but through renovation,
38:31through design, building, making.
38:33And we've absolutely loved it.
38:35The world can feel scary sometimes.
38:38So we want this chateau to feel like a safe haven.
38:42We want everyone to feel special here,
38:44to feel seen and to feel heard.
38:46And this chateau's future will be built with that in mind.
38:51So, I thank you for being a part of this moment,
38:53this potential beginning of something special.
39:09I think it's clear to everybody here today,
39:11how much this means to both of these pairs.
39:15Unfortunately, there's only one chateau,
39:17and there can only be one winner.
39:19So I've got to go away,
39:21have a good hard think,
39:23and announce who wins shortly.
39:26Well done.
39:30Sorry, thank you.
39:33Well done.
39:35Well done.
39:36Well done.
39:36I love you.
39:38Was that okay?
39:39Yeah, it was amazing.
39:40It's so good.
39:43Even though we've got this far,
39:45I still don't think we've let ourselves fully believe
39:47that this could happen for us.
39:49I think we're trying to protect ourselves as much as we can,
39:52but it's strange because it feels like...
39:54I don't know.
39:55It feels very...
39:55It feels so incredibly close.
39:58I really think we've put our all into this one.
40:00This is...
40:01Everything we've been building towards,
40:03we've put on the line today.
40:07So...
40:07Can't do much more.
40:09Yeah.
40:11As the heavens open once more,
40:13all that's left to do is wait.
40:17I can't quite believe the competition is coming to an end.
40:21Both pairs have given it everything.
40:24And in this final week,
40:25they delivered a masterclass in renovation.
40:28It's incredibly impressive.
40:29What we've seen has just blown my mind.
40:32Zav and Tash have tackled each challenge
40:34with boundless creativity.
40:36Ooh!
40:39This marks the spot.
40:40We found an X here.
40:41Seizing opportunities to push their limits
40:43and refine their skill set.
40:45There's definitely a lot of effort that's gone into that
40:48and it does look really good.
40:49Whilst never playing it safe.
40:51I honestly don't know how they did that in six days
40:54because of the attention to detail.
40:56Josh and Josh leveled up their skill base with fearless flair.
41:00They demonstrated so many different skill sets.
41:02They pushed design boundaries.
41:04It is a statement piece.
41:05It's super elegant.
41:06It's super suave.
41:08Whilst staying true to their signature bold aesthetic.
41:11Everywhere you look,
41:12there's something else going on and catching the eye.
41:15Taking into account all the judges' feedback,
41:18I've made my decision.
41:20Time is up.
41:22So much at stake.
41:25Well done finalists.
41:27And thank you to our wonderful guests
41:28for attending the first ever event at this chateau.
41:31I think you'll all agree they've done a fantastic job.
41:40Over the summer,
41:41you've shown us exactly what you're capable of.
41:45But you really didn't need to bring the British weather with you to the final.
41:51Zav and Tash, your confidence has grown exponentially over the weeks,
41:56and it's really warmed my heart.
41:57You never shy away from a challenge,
41:59and you've attacked every renovation with boundless energy and creative solutions.
42:07Josh and Josh, your aesthetic taste and attention to detail
42:11has really impressed me as a designer.
42:13And if you won the chateau,
42:15he would stamp your personality all over it.
42:19How much each of you want to win this dream is clear.
42:22But I want all of you to be incredibly proud,
42:26regardless of the outcome.
42:31Considering all of your renovation and event challenges,
42:34and taking into account the feedback from the guest judges,
