00:00Iran will attack Israel's power plants and facilities supplying power to US bases in
00:05the Gulf if President Donald Trump carries out his threat to obliterate Iran's power network.
00:09The country's Revolutionary Guard says in a statement, quote,
00:13"...we are determined to respond to any threat at the same level as it creates in terms of
00:17deterrence. If you hit electricity, we hit electricity."
00:20Trump issued his warning Saturday evening March 21 less than a day after signaling the US might
00:26consider winding down the conflict. This even as US Marines and heavy landing craft are headed to
00:31the region. But while strikes on power could hurt Iran, they could be far more damaging to its Gulf
00:36neighbors which use significantly more electricity per person. Electricity makes their desert cities
00:42habitable, in part by powering the desalination plants that produce 100% of the water consumed
00:48in Bahrain and Qatar.
