Angry Birds arriva nello spazio, sul serio.
Trascrizione
00:01I'm Don Pettit, I'm a NASA astronaut, and I'm on the International Space Station.
00:07We're currently about 240 nautical miles above the surface of Earth.
00:46I want to do some physics demonstrations that involve some of the things you might see in the Angry Birds
00:54game.
00:55And of course, I've got my Angry Bird here, but we need a pig.
01:02Well, I'm not very good at art.
01:05It's a good thing I decided to be a scientist and an engineer instead of an artist because I'd probably
01:10be starving by now.
01:12Okay, here is pig.
01:15And of course, pig is the arch enemy of Angry Bird.
01:19And Angry Bird had some eggs.
01:26And pig stole the eggs.
01:31And don't ask me how I got the eggs on Space Station.
01:35I've got a bungee spread across the hatchway.
01:40And this bungee is kind of like a slingshot.
01:43And I'm going to show the trajectory that Red Bird is going to have when I fire him with this
01:51orbital slingshot.
01:54Launching Red Bird into space.
01:57Well, hey, we're already at the space.
02:00Whoa, look at that.
02:02Whoa, all the way down.
02:04That's an example of a trajectory.
02:06It's a straight line from our perspective here.
02:10Gravity will attract an object if it's moving in a straight line.
02:13And it will no longer move in a straight line.
02:15It gets bent and it goes in a curved trajectory.
02:20And guess what?
02:21Astronauts have to worry about these things because if you're in a rocket and say you're trying to get from
02:26one orbit and rendezvous a space station,
02:30you end up going in curved trajectories and you need to know how to fire your rocket engines so that
02:36you can go from where you are to where you want to be.
02:39And if you understand the math, if you understand the physics, it will allow you to go out and get
02:46a neat job.
02:47A job sort of like mine.
02:49And we got to see all of this in a weightless environment, which is what the Angry Birds space game
02:57is going to be like with gravity fields from planetary bodies.
03:19We kind of won't be used to exactly the Kagome.
03:22Whoops.
03:26We'll catch him.
03:28We'll catch him.
03:33We'll catch him on the other side.
03:46Grazie per la visione!
