00:08had no time for anything else.
00:10Anyway, this is another Atari Lynx video, and this is Peckland.
00:15Basically, it's a 2D scrolling version of your favourite pill popper.
00:20It's pretty good as well. It was always good fun in the arcade, and this is a surprisingly solid Lynx
00:27version.
00:28It's also surprisingly tough as well, and I just can't work out how to do the later levels.
00:34But as you can see, the whole point of the game is to basically run through the level from left
00:38to right.
00:40Avoid the ghosts. Now you can jump on ghosts heads, should you so wish to.
00:46But if you hit them in any other direction, you're going to die, and obviously if you can get a
00:50power-up pill, you can basically kill as many of them as you can reach.
00:55Now, I've actually set this up on 2Player by mistake.
00:59So you'll have to run and see some of the same levels here, I'm afraid.
01:05But, it's a pretty solid conversion. As you can see, it's nice and bright and colourful.
01:11I'm not sure why it's jerking, I'm hoping that that's not going to be on the final video.
01:16It certainly wasn't while I was playing it.
01:18And as you can see, I've basically lost a life there, so we're going on to Player 2.
01:27Again, basically, controls are nice and simple. It's just a case of the A button to jump, and you can
01:34double tap to speed up.
01:35You've only got a set amount of time, as dictated in the bottom left-hand corner.
01:42So you have to get through the levels as quickly as possible.
01:46And, um, it's quite funny actually, it reminds me of Roadrunner went away, because as you can see, the ghosts
01:52come at you with even more outlandish contraptions.
01:56I mean, ghosts on pogo sticks, who'd have thunk it?
02:03Really nice graphics on this, really nice, nice bright and cartoon-y.
02:16So yeah, I've been doing a few links conversions lately.
02:20Um, mainly because I really like the system, and I don't think it gets enough love.
02:26Um, also because, in moving over my laptops, I've literally got to start again from scratch, and there's no emus
02:33on it.
02:34So, um, basically, if there's anything you want to see, this is the perfect chance to basically ask for it,
02:41because I'm currently on holiday.
02:43So I've got a fair amount of spare time.
02:46I'm going to try and get into some sort of system where there's basically, maybe, two, three videos a week
02:52going up on specific days,
02:53and then you, you know, you know when to come back.
02:57Because, um, I'm fully aware that I have been slipping lately.
03:01There's too, too much other stuff on at the moment.
03:09So with the Atari Lynx, it didn't really have many original games, well, not many good ones.
03:16And the vast majority of the titles were arcade conversions, as you can see, based on, um, if you look
03:23at the channel, I've put up about 19, 20 videos now.
03:27And, um, it was just a really, really solid machine.
03:33Now, this, uh, Pac-Land, it's fairly expensive for a Lynx game.
03:37Typically, if you want to get it boxed amount, you're going to be looking at at least around 20 quid.
03:42Um, I would argue, though, that it probably is worth that money if you're into, if you're into your arcade
03:47conversions and if you're into the Atari Lynx.
03:49Because it really is, um, it really is a slick little game.
03:53Now, we're going to look at some of the, um, later levels here.
03:57And now, this, this is where it all goes wrong, because I just can't work out how in the hell
04:01to clear the second jump that you're going to see in a moment.
04:06So I do this one, floating in the air, and I'll get here.
04:11Dead.

04:21Give it another try.
04:27As you can see, the ghosts are narrowing little, little flying planes, dropping ghost bombs on you.
04:32And once again, I just can't, just can't seem to clear this so, I'll have to read the instructions to
04:38see what I'm doing wrong.
04:39You can't press buttons to like, get a multiple jump.
04:43So, um, I've got no idea what I'm doing here.
04:46so you'll just have to see me fail horribly I'm afraid
04:51you've got the fruits there in Wonderboy style
04:54so they're constantly giving you points the more you pick up
04:58and death comes quick and fast
