01:08Hi, I'm Doug Tenapel, and I'm the original creator of Earthworm Jim and the Neverhood.
01:14We're here at Pencil Test Studios, where my partners on those projects actually taught me how to animate,
01:22and they are Ed Schofield and Mike Dietz.
01:29These guys help me animate on every game I've worked on, and they're really kind of my secret weapon on
01:34Earthworm Jim and Neverhood.
01:36And we're getting back together to make a brand new game called Armacrog.
01:47Over 20 years ago, we had the idea of creating artistically satisfying games,
01:52and we all love animation, and in particular, we love stop-motion animation.
01:58So I've been talking to Doug a lot about what we wanted to work on next.
02:02We were looking for the right project, and it dawned on me, you know,
02:06we'd always looked fondly back upon our stop-motion projects together,
02:10and I thought, why don't we just do another stop-motion point-and-click adventure game?
02:17I said, look, just design whatever game, whatever property you think is going to be great for a stop-motion
02:24game.
02:25You know, no limits, don't worry about whether we can do it or not.
02:28And he just went nuts with drawing.
02:30He was just pouring ideas out.
02:33It was fantastic.
02:35The game has got a space explorer named Tommy Knot.
02:38He has this blind alien dog that's kind of like his drinking buddy.
02:42His name is Beak Beak.
02:43They crash-land on a weird planet and end up locked in this mysterious fortress called Armacrog.
02:50But it's a point-and-click adventure game, shot-and-stop-motion puppet animation,
02:54and primarily made for PCs and Macs.
02:57Need I say more?
02:58As you can see, we put the experience of the art first.
03:01We want every frame to be loaded with unique but approachable visuals,
03:05funky style, and fun creatures.
03:09The game not only features our animation, but has the voice work of Riff Track's Michael J. Nelson,
03:14Pinky and the Brain's Rob Paulson,
03:17PVP's Scott Kurtz,
03:19Napoleon Dynamite's John Heater,
03:21and Techzilla's Veronica Belmont.
03:23And finally, we're bringing back The Neverhood's Terry Taylor
03:27to write a brand new, completely original game score.
03:35I want to put that aside for a second.
03:37I want to talk about why we really work together.
03:39It's because we're pals.
03:40We're friends.
03:41And we bring out the very best from each other.
03:45We realize the fun we have working together manifests itself into the games that we make.
03:50We've heard over the years from fans that the games always make them laugh,
03:53and they have a great time.
03:55We learn from each other. These guys taught me how to animate, how to create, and we make each other
04:01better.
04:03So here's the deal. We've already started on a lot of the designs. We've worked through a lot of the
04:08puzzles already, but this game will never happen without your help.
04:12This game isn't going to get made by a major publisher. This is one where we have to go directly
04:16to our fans and ask them for help if it's going to get made.
04:19So if you want this kind of a game, then believe me, this is the only way it's going to
04:25happen. And in advance, I can only say thank you.
