00:32You plug the other end, which is a quarter-inch jack, directly into any electric guitar or four-string bass.
00:39Once you boot up the software, you're going to get taught exactly how to tune the guitar, hold the guitar,
00:45how to hold the pick.
00:46Every single aspect the pure beginner needs to know to be able to start playing.
00:50Once you've got those simple things down, you're then going to start playing some notes.
00:57The Rocksmith interface marries traditional tablature with a very modern spatial layout.
01:03What this gives you is not only the numbers that you can refer to if you know how to read
01:07them,
01:07but you also get the exact point where you need to put your finger.
01:12Even at the simplest levels, you just see two on the red string, which is the low E,
01:17but then when it gets much more complex, you see the patterns, so you see the motion that your fingers
01:21need to take.
01:22And then as you play and you prove to the game that you can get it right, it will actually
01:26level you up.
01:27It's responding dynamically to your skill level.
01:30If you can already play a bit, you can even go into the options and adjust the difficulty of the
01:35whole song,
01:36or just the specific sections that you want to make harder or easier.
01:43We often talk about learning to play the guitar as actually just learning to play songs.
01:47So what we wanted to do was create a mode which is purely learn a song.
01:52and song-specific recommendations.
01:55What this does is actually look at your performance, not only as a whole, but specifically on that song.
02:00So if you're struggling with the solo, it'll help you and give suggestions to improve that.
02:05If there are techniques or chords that you've never seen before, it'll know, and it'll be able to introduce lessons.
02:11Well in Rocksmith 2014, you're able to pause right in the middle of a song and enter a mode we
02:16call riff repeater.
02:22So riff repeater even allows you to set your own targets, but when you complete them, it could launch directly,
02:28seamlessly back into the song.
02:32Not only can you isolate just that one individual section, you can actually change the section lengths or shift it
02:39anywhere in the song instantly.
02:41So now, not only is riff repeater faster, because you want to learn guitar fast, but you can do anything
02:48you want with it. It is fully customizable.
02:56When you master a section, when you take it to the highest difficulty, you'll notice the notes start to fade
03:01away, up until a point where they're completely gone.
03:04It's not the whole song that fades away, it's per section.
03:07So if you're great at that beginning riff, that'll be mastered and disappeared first.
03:12But if the solo is still tricky, you'll still see the notes.
03:15And, once they've gone away, if you mess up, they'll fade back in.
03:20Now you're playing from memory, now you know how to play the song.
03:26When you complete a song, you'll be given your mastery rating.
03:30This is essentially your high score.
03:31Remember, the only way to reach 100% is to be able to play note for note, exactly what the
03:36original guitarist played on the record.
03:41Rocksmith 2014 has over 85 lessons, which puts it at three times the content of Rocksmith 1.
03:48Rocksmith features over 50 plus songs right there on the disc.
03:52Everyone from Aerosmith to Oasis.
03:55We also have an expansive library of over 200 songs available to download.
03:59All the tools and big name artist songs are going to be available from the start.
04:04They're all fully unlocked.
04:06But, we provide a guidance system that we refer to as missions.
04:10These will encourage you to go and try things that you haven't tried before,
04:13increase your mastery on different songs,
04:16maybe even go and try and beat some of your friends' scores in the guitar cave.
04:20So, whether you want to learn a song, whether you want to compete,
04:24whether you want to create your own music,
04:26you have everything you need or desire with playing the guitar with Rocksmith 2014.
