00:00Four quarters of domination.
00:03Coach McIntyre's debut ends in a disappointment.
00:06We lost him a disappointment, bro.
00:07Well, we have about 10 penalties on offense.
00:09I'm still happy you let me come out here and coach.
00:12Nobody's position is solidified after a loss like that.
00:15We have a quarterback competition.
00:17Even though I've known Izzy since he's been in high school,
00:20I got to put the team first.
00:21Izzy, I'm going to try to get a spot for Otto.
00:23Go complete to Dre Gendrick and the Spartans win.
00:28Oh, you got it!
00:55Yeah, how'd you came to win?
00:58Never will I lose?
00:59Long as I'm breathing, I'm going to have something to prove.
01:02Y'all can sink or swim, but I'm going to make a move.
01:05Go on what it takes, I'm going to always pay my dues.
01:08Yeah, how'd you came to win?
01:10Michael Vick now one-on-one as head coach.
01:13Capturing history at Norfolk State for this Michael Vick era.
01:16They come out and they pull out the end.
01:18If you don't make the switch over to Otto, you're 0-2.
01:20Who knows how that game could have went?
01:22Thank you, Jesus.
01:24When you can beat teams like Virginia State, it means a lot.
01:30It's huge.
01:31And we beat them.
01:33And we beat them.
01:35It's a lot of emotion and excitement.
01:37We know what it takes to win now.
01:38I'm definitely glad that we got to win, but we should have won in a way bigger way.
01:43We got the job done, most importantly.
01:45Seeing the improvement from game one to game two and the potential that they have.
01:51From a fan's perspective, we have a head coach who has been turning the program around,
01:55but we still got a whole season to go.
02:02We're welcome in the head coach of the Golden State University, coach Michael Vick.
02:05Recently victorious for the first time.
02:07You know you said yesterday that you probably don't make the decision.
02:09I know where Izzy Otto was starting.
02:13You made the decision out already?
02:15Yeah, I have.
02:17We'll start the game this week with Otto.
02:20And for Israel, you never know when you're going to get back out there, so you got to take every
02:23rep serious.
02:24We got a tough opponent this week.
02:26We got to travel to Rutgers, and we definitely want our guys to feel like we got a chance to
02:30win, compete hard,
02:31and we're going to come out and we're going to go to battle.
02:33All right, you got it.
02:35All right, you have a good one.
02:42Since I did finally get named a starter, seeing people showing some love, it's nice to see.
02:49When Coach Vick told me we're going to go with Izzy week one, it was hard to deal with at
02:53the time,
02:53but I had to stick it out and wait so I got my opportunity.
02:57When it comes to making it to the NFL, I still got work to do, but I'm living my dream.
03:02I live right outside Columbus.
03:03I love Ohio.
03:04Can't lie.
03:05When it comes to football, I fell in love with it early, and I've been playing football since kindergarten.
03:09I always looked up to the quarterbacks, and now that I am a quarterback, I'm where I wanted to be.
03:18What's up, Izzy?
03:21Can you all let me all talk to Izzy real quick?
03:23Close the door.
03:24No camera.
03:26I know this ain't been the easiest last couple days for you, bro.
03:30I felt like in the game the other day, you was a little erratic.
03:33Hey, whoa!
03:34Let's do it.
03:35Let's do it sooner.
03:36You didn't seem comfortable to me.
03:38You can't be out there like that.
03:40And he fumbles to snap.
03:42It's hard to tell a young man that you spent a lot of time with that you know the reasons
03:47why he's not what we need in terms of precision on offense.
03:51This is a very important conversation moving forward.
03:54For the sake of the team, you're going to have to be mature just like he was, and you got
03:58the opportunity.
03:59I'm a little bit upset.
04:01I mean, I'm not here to make excuses.
04:03I'm here to win.
04:04I think God has shown me how you need to trust on him and lean on him through tough times,
04:10rough times, no matter what.
04:11You're going to get out there again.
04:13And you got to be ready, dog.
04:14He might get hurt, bro.
04:16You right back in there.
04:17You just got to be airtight when you do.
04:20When your time comes, you got to make the most of it.
04:23And when it doesn't work out, you can't blame anybody but yourself.
04:26We just got to get better.
04:28Even me.
04:29Everybody.
04:29We got ruckus this week.
04:31I know this is not easy at all, man, but embrace the change.
04:35You don't know how this is going to go for Izzy.
04:39It might be tough for him at the time, but I got to think about the team first.
04:52Behold.
04:53Behold.
04:54Behold.
04:54All right, I just wanted to say once again, congrats on your first win.
04:57I took everything in our being to win that game, and we did everything we were supposed to do at
05:02the right times to win that game.
05:04Let's just build on the foundation that we laid.
05:08I was proud of the boys.
05:10The defense stepped up.
05:11Otto put the team on his back, and we finished strong.
05:14My first win being Coach Vic's first win is definitely special.
05:19And seeing the community and the students behind it, that was the most exciting part.
05:23But going into a game like Rutgers, it's a different mindset.
05:26You're never playing a big team.
05:27One thing that I am upset about, got a laundry list of people who are missing every thing.
05:34Building a great program starts by building men of great character.
05:38It's a lot of things to correct, a lot of things to clean up.
05:40We had 16 penalties for, what, 137 yards?
05:44Intercepted.
05:45But this one's called back.
05:47Goddamn, we can't play the game going back.
05:49When I think about some of the best teams, they don't make those mistakes in critical moments.
05:55All this little stuff, bro, I just wanted to just cease, man.
05:59Because once we start paying attention to the details, this game is going to be so much easier for us.
06:05The most disciplined teams are the ones that's most prepared.
06:08Because when you're prepared, you're super confident.
06:10I'm talking about from treatment, to class, to curfew.
06:14This is making me so mad to a point where I'm just trying to keep my composure, but it's hard.
06:19The strength and conditioning is showing up.
06:21Ultimately, everybody needs a little guidance.
06:23This week, we played two games, against Rutgers and there against Wagner.
06:27Now is the time to hop on discipline and everything under the sun.
06:31I want to be positive today, tell you how good you can be.
06:34And then we're going to have to come from behind and win in the fourth quarter.
06:37We're going to go compete, we're going to compete hard, and we're going to come out,
06:40we're going to starve fast, and we're going to smack them in the mouth.
06:42So wrap your minds around having a good week of practice.
06:48Let me have a good life, yeah, let me have a good life, yeah, uh, it's a party over there.
06:55Can't blame my currency for my fear, keep my soul intact and family.
06:59Hey, hello, daddy.
07:01How you doing, man?
07:02I'm good.
07:03I'm for real.
07:04Even though Mike doesn't disclose the pressure that this job has on him,
07:08I think it definitely has a little bit of pressure on him.
07:10Did you work out today?
07:12I just did some pressure.
07:14How many?
07:15You did a hundred push-ups, Mike.
07:17A hundred straight.
07:18You is telling a lie.
07:20I try to get him to just relax a little bit, make him laugh, and do little funny things for
07:25him.
07:25Everybody's seen it.
07:26Who? I got to call somebody. Who? Who saw it?
07:29Yo, you strong, bro. You strong.
07:31So I heard everybody saying it.
07:33Still good?
07:34I see the funny in everything in life.
07:37What y'all hit?
07:38The parent-teacher conference.
07:40All right, man.
07:41This week, I can't go to the Rutgers game.
07:42Sometimes being supportive means to hold the house down.
07:46All right, Coach Vic.
07:47Love you.
07:48See you at the Rutgers.
07:49Bye, daddy.
07:59If you accept the challenge of putting that ball in your hands, you got to appreciate the expectations that's going
08:04to be thrown your way.
08:06And so we need to lay the foundation, because all I'm trying to do is prepare them for a long
08:10career if that's what they want.
08:11Let's turn the page from last week.
08:13Let's open up a new chapter.
08:14The new chapter says Rutgers.
08:21The Rutgers turned me down, so they said I'm too slow.
08:24It's a good opportunity to show the goddamn world what you can do.
08:27Everybody don't get opportunities like this, man.
08:29Going into Rutgers, we know it's going to be a challenge, physically, mentally, emotionally.
08:35You know, it's no perfect player, but I'm expecting certain guys to be the focal points of the team.
08:43Kayvon King for the teddy.
08:45He was smooth running.
08:46He glad.
08:47Kayvon King is special.
08:49He's a senior, really smooth, has great feet, great vision.
08:54And I know it's a dream of his, playing in the league, that can potentially come true.
08:59He's got the size, he's got the speed, so he's got a lot of good traits as a running back.
09:04Kayvon King, his talent is unmatched.
09:07He has all the tools to make it to the next level.
09:10He's explosive.
09:12He's the total package.
09:13He's a bigger guy, but he still has speed, like he's a small back.
09:17He can make cuts.
09:18I'm glad that guy's on our team.
09:20Arizona scout and giant scout was out here looking at him.
09:23They're kind of high on Kayvon.
09:25You want to check out Kayvon?
09:26Yeah.
09:27You like him?
09:27Great kid.
09:28Good attitude.
09:29Yeah, the running back's a big body kid.
09:31You know, compact, got some feet.
09:33Kayvon pushes his teammates, great leader.
09:36He might have his days where I feel like all the pressure on him from the outside world.
09:42I think my chances are very high to make it to the NFL because I'm very fast.
09:47Like, keep your head on the sofa because I might be down the field in less than three seconds.
09:52Since a kid, I've always been fast.
09:55I just like to outrun people.
09:56And once I hit the field, I'm aggressive.
09:58I really take all my anger out on the field.
10:01That's what football is for.
10:02Off the field, I'm friendly.
10:05I know there's a lot of attention on me, but my main focus is to go to the league.
10:10I want to be great for my family.
10:12I feel a little bit of pressure because my mother went to NSU, and I grew up 10 minutes
10:17from here, so the community is counting on me.
10:20The biggest challenge in my life right now is I be angry sometimes, so I got to keep my
10:25head straight and just work hard, becoming a better man, and be a better person.
10:30Considering it being my last year, I got to step up.
10:33I'm ready to make it to the NFL, ready to put in the blood, sweat, and tears.
10:37Like my dad said, I came out the womb ready.
10:42Kevon has so much talent, but it's things that he got to work on off the field.
10:46Kevon came underneath.
10:48That was your door.
10:49I was right back.
10:50Yeah, because they haven't been going to class.
10:51They haven't been going to class.
10:54So that's what I'm here for.
10:56It's not just to coach football.
10:57It's to also coach him in life.
10:59The Rutgers is going to be a huge game for Kevon.
11:01If he can go out there and maybe put together one nice run, Scouts are going to use this
11:06as a measuring stick to see how he would measure up in the NFL.
11:10They're looking to try to blow teams like us out.
11:12You know what I'm saying?
11:13Make it look good for the program.
11:15A lot of people say that the Rutgers game is a money game.
11:19The game where the teams are getting paid to play this game and Norfolk State really
11:24isn't going to do well.
11:26Smaller schools agree to this because they need funding.
11:29Schools collecting the guarantee, you look at the money and say, hey, this helps with
11:33our program.
11:35When you go and play guarantee games, you know what a lot of people expect.
11:40They expect you to lose it at the highest level.
11:45The landscape of college athletics has truly shifted.
11:48For a long time, HBCU has had access to some of the greatest black talent in the country
11:53because big white schools refuse to recruit black talent.
11:57With name, image, likeness and the transfer portal, now we don't.
12:01It takes money to win.
12:03What a guaranteed game does financially for a program, that's the easy way to get 300 plus
12:09thousand.
12:09The programs have to be very resourceful in the world of NIL now, paying players.
12:14When I see former NFL players come back and coach HBCUs, it makes me so happy because
12:20they have such a spotlight.
12:22It brings a lot of the attention.
12:24And attention brings money.
12:25It brings support.
12:27Money has changed the college game significantly.
12:29It'll never go back to the way it was.
12:31Fundraising is everything.
12:33If you want to compete these days, it's really what you have to do.
12:40What the freak?
12:42That's like the same shit that happened last week.
12:44Just run until I tell you to stop.
12:46Rutgers is a very well-coached football team, very athletic and talented football team.
12:51Make them run.
12:52Yeah.
12:52Make them chase.
12:53When I signed up for this job, I didn't know what the schedule was.
12:56I didn't ask.
12:56I don't care.
12:57Football is football.
12:58You go out and try to outman the man that's in front of you and you believe and you stand
13:03on those principles.
13:04And so, at the end of the day, we're trying to make it work out for us on the field.
13:14NSU playing records on national television is a big deal because you don't really see
13:19a lot of HBCU teams playing Power 5 teams.
13:22That's more national exposure for us.
13:24If I have a great game against them, that's a better chance for me going to the league.
13:40I got that feeling like I'm back in that mood now.
13:43He dropped that ball last week.
13:44I couldn't believe that shit.
13:46And then he be kicking shit like that.
13:48I don't know what the on him.
13:49When you have a son, it does put that extra battery in your back.
13:55Yo, no!
13:57Just when I thought I had the quarterback situation figured out.
14:03Oh, no!
14:04I don't!
14:05I don't!
14:06We're going to see Izzy Carter that quarterback.
14:10It's under the storm, baby.
14:11Let's get it!
14:13The don't fixation runs and head coach Michael Vick will take the field here in Piscanaway,
14:17New Jersey.
14:18Coming into the ballgame, coach Vick talked about discipline is going to be the way you win
14:21these games.
14:23Have a good one, baby boy!
14:25Who's just back.
14:26Looks for Drayshon Kendrick.
14:28And he just overthrows him.
14:30Damn, we had him.
14:31So it's a quick three and out.
14:32And Marco Pirri is out to putt.
14:34Pirri tries to kick it in his block.
14:37Recovered by Rutgers and taken in for a touchdown.
14:40Yo, that's on.
14:41All right, that's me, coach.
14:42That's me.
14:43We gave him seven points.
14:44We got to get that back.
14:45Pirri back to putt again.
14:47And it's blocked again.
14:48And it's going to be taken into the end zone again for another Rutgers touchdown.
14:53Two-point blocks was, I mean, I'm just like, that don't even happen.
14:59Well, we're giving him the game.
15:01Smarty's trying to get him back in this ballgame.
15:03Auto-Cool.
15:04So take off.
15:06Oh, no.
15:07He takes a hard hit at the end of the run.
15:09Auto-Cool just slow to get up and seems to be injured.
15:14I try to get up right away after I got hit to see if I can shake it off.
15:18Where is he at?
15:18Let's go, easy.
15:19It's the tale of two quarterbacks.
15:21Israel Carter will come into the game.
15:23Let's go, Israel.
15:24Let's go, baby.
15:24Coach Vic, he's big on me having the opportunities to still do what I need to do out there on
15:29that
15:30field.
15:30And so my goal is to shock the world.
15:33He's looking in zone and his pass is incomplete.
15:39I feel like we've got a chance to win the game, so I wasn't going to let a strain or
15:43a bruise stop me from going out there.
15:46Looks like Auto-Koens has been cleared to come back into the game.
15:50Koens hands it off to King.
15:52King brings a tackle, makes a move, hands to the sideline, and he's loose, and he will
15:57drag two defenders into the end zone for the touchdown.
16:01Kevon King, that could be the play of the year.
16:04We got to run that boy a lot more.
16:06That run that I had and scoring in Rutgers felt so amazing because I got to showcase my
16:11ability so the scouts could see what I could do again the best.
16:14It's like a dream come true.
16:16Kevon had a great run, but the rest of the game was tough, man.
16:21There were so many mistakes.
16:23You know, I almost felt like the moment was too big for a couple of the players.
16:26They beat us good.
16:29Another Rutgers touchdown, and mercifully, this game has come to an end.
16:34You're going out there with high hopes, but we could have played better.
16:37I want to say it's a heartbreaking loss, but you don't want to get too down after a game
16:41like that.
16:42Give me some.
16:43Get that look off your face.
16:44We're going to get better from this, y'all.
16:50We got Coach Vick here.
16:51Of course, you don't want anybody to score 60 points.
16:54But two block punts, that was kind of unprecedented.
16:57You know, Marco just can't drop the ball.
16:59Can't happen.
17:00And those are the reasons you lose football games.
17:02I think mental mistakes happen when you're not confident.
17:05The most disciplined teams are the ones who can adjust.
17:08This week against Wagner, we want to come back out, be competitive, play hard.
17:13And I'm challenging those guys to correct it and make it right.
17:16And we got Kevon.
17:17I don't want to keep him too long.
17:18He's the real star around here.
17:20Kevon against Rutgers, that probably was his moment to show that he's more than capable
17:24of playing in the NFL.
17:25The real heroes up here.
17:27Even with the losses that the team has had, everyone's just hoping it doesn't take
17:32the attention away from this one player who really does have a future moving forward.
17:36Come on.
17:37Does it make you all a little bit extra hungry, I guess, to, you know, get out, get another
17:41game under your belt?
17:42I got that feeling like I'm back in that mode now.
17:45And you're just going to see I'm going to train and go to the NFL draft.
17:50After the record game, I need to focus on making plays because my main goal is to get drafted.
17:56So I get that spot.
17:57I got to work hard for the rest of the season.
17:59Thanks, Spon.
17:59Thanks, Spon.
18:00Appreciate it.
18:05Heading into Wagner, we got to play mistake-free.
18:08Hey, Silver, Silver, Silver.
18:09Fight some, fight some, missile, missile.
18:10Thanks, Stax.
18:11Fight some, missile, missile.
18:13And we got to take advantage of every opportunity and really lean on our guys who have the attitude
18:18and the leadership skills of Tyreek.
18:21Yo, no!
18:23Stay!
18:23Hey, you got in the back if he's fielding.
18:26Tyreek is one of our leaders on the field, but Tyreek is dealing with a lot of responsibility
18:31off the field.
18:32I can see that being very difficult.
18:35Having a child in college, for him to still be dedicated, still be committed, he's one of
18:40those young men who definitely deserve everything that he's going to get in life.
18:45Come here, Zeke.
18:47Let me see if you got some crawling.
18:49Come on, you got it.
18:50He do look like he's trying.
18:51He ain't trying to.
18:52Come here.
18:53Come on, sunshine.
18:56Being a D1 athlete and a father, it's a blessing, but it's a lot.
19:00Say what's up.
19:01Say what's up, mama.
19:03It's really just about stacking up your responsibilities and attacking it day by day, just like football.
19:08With my schedule, it's not a lot of time, so I have to make sure of doing everything that
19:12I'm supposed to do.
19:13I got to go to my meeting before practice.
19:16I got two meetings.
19:17What time?
19:18I think at 2 o'clock.
19:20You have to think for not just yourself, but for him, because I just love him so much.
19:26I really feel like he's so perfect.
19:27You trying to stand up?
19:29Look at his legs.
19:31I just enjoy all my time that I get to just spend with him, just to hold him, just to
19:36be around him.
19:37He's not even drinking a bottle.
19:39He might not be hungry yet.
19:41It's okay, bud.
19:42I already had that aspiration to go to the next level, but when you have a son and you
19:47have somebody that relies on you, it does put that extra battery in your back.
19:52Any play, anybody trying to get in my way is literally, to me, trying to take food off
19:58his plate.
19:58You be watching that on TV?
20:00Are you with me?
20:01Yeah.
20:01Whether it be on the field, off the field, I have a lot of responsibilities, so there's
20:06nothing going to stop me.
20:07I need to find my way to the league so that we will have a bright future.
20:11For your last college game?
20:13I feel like Coach Vic, he's a great mentor.
20:16Just having somebody that you know has been there and he has done the thing that you wanted
20:20to do at the highest level.
20:22He's definitely very willing to help his players and be there for us.
20:26It's more than inspiring.
20:28We are excited today to have a very important conversation about the health and well-being
20:33of student-athletes.
20:34So we're so excited to have head coach Michael Vick joining us today.
20:38Welcome, Coach.
20:41Some guys on our team are struggling with money issues and family issues.
20:46I went through a lot of adversity in my life and I do these talks because I'm hoping my
20:51story can help them avoid the mistakes that I made.
20:53Your student-athletes are juggling so many things.
20:56It's not just performance on the field, but also NIL.
21:00Coach, if you were in the league, how did you stay focused?
21:03How did you take your personal life, your football life?
21:05I was always motivated to win, motivated to be better than my peers.
21:10And I was just always looking into the future.
21:13Like, three years from now, this is where I want to be.
21:16I always try to protect with my money, but I didn't do a good job of that.
21:20And so I was in my latter years of my career, always encouraging younger guys to invest some
21:27money into the 401k plan that the NFL provide because you never know how long it's going to
21:31last.
21:32I remember being 21 years old, getting drafted number one with the Falcons.
21:37It was everything I worked for.
21:39It was everything I hoped for in life.
21:40To get that amount of money at that time, you know, I was very thankful for it.
21:44We lived in the project and I just couldn't believe that God chose one of my babies to
21:50give us this big blessing.
21:52At one point in time, he was the highest played player in the NFL.
21:57But everything came crashing down.
21:59Michael Vick declared bankruptcy, claiming debts of more than $20 million.
22:04The biggest factor in my 2008 bankruptcy was Mike trusting other people and they were spending
22:10his money like it was theirs.
22:12If you put yourself in vulnerable positions, if you don't know how to handle money, and if
22:17you put money into the hands of the wrong people, it'll get taken away from you.
22:21That was a hard time in life.
22:23That's like being at the top of the world and then you're literally at the bottom.
22:29We kept the faith and I just always told Kiafa I just needed another shot.
22:34Most people don't get opportunities to do it over.
22:37The Philadelphia Eagles pronounce Michael Vick the team's starting quarterback.
22:41Thank God you not had Andy Reid, who brought the best out of me as a player.
22:45Michael Vick has signed a $100 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.
22:50I was able to pay back everything I owed and I thought that was a blessing within itself.
22:55Don't trust people with your money.
22:56I hate when people tell me, oh, just trust me.
22:58No, I'm not trusting shit you got to say.
23:00I learned a valuable lesson about how to handle money.
23:03You got to protect it.
23:05Had some experiences in my life and even when I lost it all, it's like I'm going to get
23:09it again.
23:10Coach Vick's bringing something that he finds personal for himself and bringing it to us.
23:14Understanding his story, it's about how to handle adversity.
23:17Using that adversity to propel yourself, it sparked something in me like, wow.
23:20I've appreciated the journey up until this point and I'm just thankful for the opportunity
23:25to be here.
23:35What's up, V?
23:36How you going?
23:37I'm good.
23:38I was trying to talk about Otto.
23:39I don't know if there was some mix-up or something happened because Otto wasn't supposed to step
23:42back on that field.
23:44It's a grade two strain that you tear.
23:47Yeah.
23:48Just when I thought I had the quarterback situation figured out, this can't go sideways.
23:52I wish he would have told me that, though.
23:55Knowing that Otto got injured, if he can't play the game against Wagner, you know, I'm concerned.
23:59You say he can't go, he can't go.
24:04Oh, hell no.
24:05Why you look like you're recovering from COVID?
24:08You better recover before the weekend.
24:10In the sport, let's get the turnover.
24:12Well, we look good today.
24:13First and 10, we got to score.
24:15You don't even know what first and 10 means.
24:19Yeah.
24:21Hey.
24:23Hey.
24:24Dedication.
24:26Going up straight up on the way to the top elevation.
24:31Gotta get it, can't stop, only got one chance.
24:34Dedication.
24:42Miss Vick.
24:43Finally.
24:44Always got me waiting for you.
24:46I'm sorry.
24:46Always.
24:47Mmm, you smell good.
24:48What you got over?
24:49My signature set.
24:50Okay, okay.
24:51Kiyoppa special.
24:52Okay.
24:53You know what?
24:53I was thinking about early.
24:54I really don't know how I met you.
24:57How did we meet?
24:58I think it was at the club, right?
25:00I feel like it was at the club.
25:01You was dancing on the bar, right?
25:02Shut up.
25:03Stop playing.
25:05My good friend, Ja'Elly, came to see me in Florida.
25:08I've known Ja'Elly since my college days.
25:11I just really appreciate what he does for his community, what he does for our family, what
25:15he does for me.
25:16I just love him.
25:17How has that transition been coming to little old Virginia?
25:20I think it's been like an adjustment for the kids because, yeah, I think they just wish
25:24he could be closer to home.
25:25Yeah.
25:26So what next game you going to?
25:27I'm going to try to go to Wagner.
25:29I'm trying to go there?
25:30No, I don't know.
25:31I could take you with me.
25:32Why?
25:32Because you might try to get me in trouble.
25:34You'll be wanting to party and hang out.
25:36Well, that's what we got to do.
25:37We got to keep the momentum up just in case they do win.
25:40We go out.
25:41If they lose, we're going to be sad.
25:42We need to go out.
25:44So you're going to sit for my flight?
25:46Am I going to pay for your flight?
25:48I'm not nobody, Sugar Mama.
25:49What is going on here?
25:51I will settle for Gautza.
25:52You don't have to do me no private jet or nothing like that.
25:55See how you act?
25:56See how you act?
25:56That's why I can't take you nowhere.
25:58Cheers.
25:59Can't wait to see you in Staten Island.
26:01Boom, save, kill.
26:02Ain't nothing to play with.
26:11Well, I don't get to see y'all as much.
26:13I know.
26:14I don't really get a lot of time to do anything other than school football.
26:17I go home, take care of the baby.
26:19It was real nice to go out with my mom, Modestia, especially.
26:22After losing the Rutgers game, it's always a blessing to have family there for you and
26:26somebody still trying to show you that you can be a champion.
26:30So how's your football?
26:32It's okay.
26:33You know, we've been getting better.
26:35Hey, smugga booga.
26:36But you are really dedicated.
26:37Like, all he do when he come home from practice is watch films.
26:41Do he try to tackle you?
26:42That's what he used to always do when we was in the house.
26:45When he was younger, I'd be like, Tariq, don't pick me up.
26:47Stop it.
26:48Because he'll get in front of me like, I don't play football.
26:51Tariq, you are the man.
26:53I believe that God sent Michael Vick here so that you could get that exposure.
26:58I really do believe when you get your opportunity, you're going to the NFL.
27:03I do.
27:03I believe it.
27:04I am so proud of you.
27:06I just want to let you know I love you so much.
27:08I love you too.
27:10It feels real good to be out here with y'all.
27:12My mom is like the best person in the world.
27:15She always gave perspective on how to be a good person no matter what happened.
27:19And that's something that I feel like is going to take me far.
27:21And that's something that I really love about her.
27:23She's really the reason why I am how I am today.
27:26You definitely had a great man.
27:27He's great, for real.
27:28I like the fact that both of y'all went to school.
27:31Y'all both graduated.
27:33I love the way that y'all take care of each other.
27:36I know y'all going to get married.
27:37It's just out of time.
27:39I'm waiting, but I'm ready.
27:40My mom wants us to get engaged, for sure.
27:43But my biggest thing on going to that next level is timing and making sure that I have everything in
27:48line.
27:49How long y'all going to wait for y'all to have another?
27:51I know.
27:53To after the ring.
27:55After the ring.
27:56You want your bling, bling?
27:58Yeah, pretty much.
28:00That's the pressure right there, Tariq.
28:02I'm going to ask Destiny to marry me.
28:04Only thing that matters to me is that she's happy.
28:06I like the way y'all love each other.
28:08It's beautiful.
28:10No, I try not to give too much relationship advice because I don't have a relationship.
28:15But...
28:23What's up, brother?
28:23How you doing?
28:24Yeah, good, good.
28:25What's up?
28:25First time I met Noah, I was like, wow, this guy.
28:27A lot of energy.
28:28A lot of Australian energy here.
28:29Australian barbecue.
28:30Cook up on a good old Saturday, Sunday afternoon.
28:33You get out there, a few steak on the Barbies.
28:35You can't beat it.
28:36Obviously, I'm Australian and coming into this college life, it's something out of a movie,
28:41I might say.
28:41People are mimicking my accent.
28:43The boys love it in the locker room.
28:44Hey, what's up, big nuts?
28:46That's my best Noah impression.
28:48What does it on the Barbie mean?
28:50Barbecue.
28:51Oh.
28:51I thought it was just like a Barbie dream doll.
28:53I was like...
28:54Hey, huh.
28:55They're having a laugh and chewing the fat with them, he's always good.
28:59So, how's your bruise feeling?
29:00Here we go.
29:01Oh, it's worse.
29:02It's worse.
29:03Yeah, I know.
29:04It's a bit of swelling, a bit of bruising.
29:06But you made the tackle, you saved the play.
29:08Evan Helfrich, his kick is blocked, and the punch of Noah Tracy has to knock him out of
29:12bounds.
29:13The biggest concern is if I get hit again, it could cause fracture to the hip.
29:17I've been ruled out of punting for this week.
29:20Special teams has struggled a little bit purely because I actually wasn't playing because
29:23I was injured.
29:24I could be out for I don't know how long.
29:26I'm just the substitute teacher.
29:28It's tough.
29:28We may have got beat by ruckus, but how are you feeling this weekend coming up?
29:32I'll tell you, after that game, it might not be there.
29:36We just weren't very good, but...
29:39I mean...
29:40So, I think we sort of laughed through the mistakes that happened.
29:43You've got to keep morale high.
29:44I'm going to hit a punt, and I'm going to go run to the sideline and be like, where's
29:47Noah?
29:47I want to see what he thought of the punt.
29:49And then he's going to be right here with the cheerleaders.
29:51That's going to frustrate you.
29:58All right, let's go.
30:00Let's compete.
30:04Nice punt.
30:06You dropped that ball last week.
30:07Man, I couldn't believe that shit.
30:08I heard the crowd go wild.
30:10And you know you heard the crowd go wild.
30:11When you about to punt, something bad happened.
30:14I look back like, what the f***?
30:17I see this ball running it in.
30:19I'm like, 6'9".
30:20We can't afford to do that.
30:23And then he be kicking shit like that, but I don't know what the f*** is wrong with him.
30:29Hey!
30:30We're going to have to get somebody right there who can block.
30:33Hey!
30:34I don't want to see that shit.
30:36I'm about to go crazy.
30:38I get it with Rutgers, Big Ten schools.
30:40If you want to lose a lot of games, be undisciplined.
30:43Because being undisciplined equates to inconsistency.
30:46So I'm teaching them how to play consistent, to do the right things.
30:50That's what men do.
30:53Oh, hell no!
30:54Catch the ball!
30:56This mediocre-ass shit.
30:59That's illegal.
31:01Why you look like you're recovering from COVID?
31:03I feel like it.
31:05Here's how I run the ball.
31:07It's high.
31:07I think it's very important that Kayvon just stay on the straight and narrow.
31:11And don't do anything to jeopardize his future.
31:13Everything is right there in front of him.
31:14It's about finishing strong for Kayvon.
31:16You better recover before the weekend.
31:18Because I got you with a buck thirty on the ground.
31:22Nice, Keyshawn!
31:28You're going to kick your ass this week, I ain't tripping.
31:32When I was young, sometimes I used to be really hungry.
31:35And the only thing I could eat at the time before my mom cooked was sunflower seeds.
31:39Oh, you like them flamers?
31:41Yeah.
31:41You got all these flavors now that you get to choose from, and it's really cool.
31:45Sweet and chocolate or sweet and tangy or something.
31:47So we got the tacos.
31:48These don't inspire.
31:49Taco, I enjoy.
31:51Sweet and salty.
31:52I'm going to grab them because I know you like those.
31:53The sour cream, I enjoy.
31:56I've had fish flavor sometimes.
31:57See, you said cracked pepper.
31:59I'm going to get the cracked peppers later.
32:00I know the $7.
32:01That's my favorite, cracked pepper.
32:03Got to get them cracked peppers.
32:05I'm going to give them like four bags and shit.
32:06Hit that stash one more time.
32:11Good throw, Otto.
32:12God damn good throw, boy.
32:15When you know a player's hurt, you monitor everything he do.
32:18Every little movement that he make to see if he grimace at anything or if he's just not comfortable.
32:23Otto.
32:25And when you be watching film and you be seeing your offensive linemen, what's the block and shit,
32:30you pull up on them in your own way and let them know, hey, listen, man, you got my back,
32:33right?
32:34But they got to hear it from you.
32:35You hear me?
32:36At the end of the day, I got to protect our best players because we got games coming up that
32:41are winnable games.
32:42And as a head coach, I'm looking at it from a different perspective.
32:45Do things the right way.
32:46It's going to add up to big things.
32:48I promise you.
32:48We've been saying that, right?
32:50As talented as we are and all the good things we do, we'll see what type of consistency they have.
32:56We line up against Wagner.
32:58Wagner!
32:59Don't let up.
33:00You'll kick ass this week.
33:03Play with your mind, body, and soul.
33:05This is a game that we really, really need to win.
33:07Coach Vick's never given up on me.
33:09Let's go, Izzy.
33:10Let's go.
33:24We have a lot of work to do.
33:26And it starts this week versus Wagner.
33:28Play with your mind, body, and soul.
33:30Mind, body, and soul.
33:31That's what this shit takes, man.
33:32Be thankful for that opportunity.
33:33We'll see what type of team they become.
33:36You never know in this game.
33:37Let's get the job done today.
33:38Let's go.
33:39Let's go.
33:40That's my man.
33:41Ooh, he fine.
33:42That's a fine mother f***er.
33:45Ooh.
33:45Hey, Coach Vick.
33:50He got sunflower seeds in his back pocket.
33:52Can you take the hood out of him?
33:54Okay.
33:54This is a game that we really, really need to win.
33:57Our win and loss column is not balancing out right now.
34:02What a day for football here today.
34:05And we're underway as Norfolk State looks to get back on the winning side of things against
34:10the Seahawks.
34:11Where actually does it?
34:12They don't travel.
34:13The HBCU has no budget for that.
34:16Where?
34:16It feels good.
34:17I got my own VIP section.
34:19Okay.
34:19Like, you know.
34:20Wagner's quarterback steps up, tries to scamble.
34:23And the ball is loose.
34:24Are they pumped for the ball?
34:25Oh, yeah.
34:26And the Spartans get the turnover.
34:28Oh, we look good today.
34:29First and ten.
34:29We got to score.
34:30You don't even know what first and ten means.
34:32Dooms hands it off to Evans.
34:34He cuts hard.
34:35And he's going in for the touchdown.
34:39Wagner back to pass.
34:41Throws it.
34:43And it's intercepted.
34:44And the Spartans get their second turnover of the day.
34:48Tariq Miles' pressure absolutely caused that interception.
34:52Feels good to make plays.
34:53You want to be able to help your team whichever way you can.
34:55You know, it only takes one play to get downfield.
34:58Here's a handoff to Kevon King.
35:00And he'll get in for the score.
35:04We're going to win this game.
35:05Come on.
35:06That B-by-you.
35:08Hold on.
35:08It's one of your head.
35:09No, it's not.
35:10I don't want to have to kill y'all Staten Island Bs.
35:13But it's really not letting me be great.
35:16All right.
35:16F*** that bench.
35:17That bench got Bs in it.
35:18Give me your best 30 minutes of football.
35:21And then you come back and win this game.
35:23All right.
35:24Goons back to pass, looking for Kevon.
35:26And it's off his hands and intercepted.
35:29No, stop that.
35:30Goons are lucky there on that pass.
35:33Come on, y'all.
35:33We can knock this win up.
35:35The Seahawks knocking on the door.
35:37And they will get into the end zone.
35:39Touchdown, Seahawks.
35:40Oh, my gosh.
35:42I think our attitudes and momentum changes a lot.
35:45Look, it's quiet over here now.
35:47They've been talking crap before.
35:49The Greener goes.
35:50Woo, let's go.
35:52Goons back to pass.
35:53Blackett breaks down.
35:55And Cooks is sacked.
35:56I feel like we started the Wagner game decent.
35:59But the offense stalled.
36:01I know y'all better than me, right?
36:03Are we going to see Izzy Carter at quarterback?
36:06Man, do what we asked y'all to do the way we asked y'all to do it.
36:10The Seahawks back to pass, looking deep.
36:12And it's caught.
36:13It's another touchdown for Wagner.
36:15Their first lead of the game.
36:18Easy.
36:19Let's go.
36:19Coach Vick will look for another spark as Israel Carter checks into the ballgame.
36:24Obviously, I'm irritated.
36:25I just can't show it.
36:26It's not going to do anything for the team.
36:27We're still in the game.
36:28Still got a chance to win, even if I'm not out there.
36:31Otto coming out.
36:33You can just feel the negative energy in the room.
36:35Otto has been playing well just recently.
36:37And he deserve a chance to put that on for a full game.
36:41Coach Vick's never given up on me.
36:43And he knows exactly who I am.
36:46Let's go, Izzy.
36:47Let's go.
36:55Let's go.
36:56Into the ballgame comes Israel Carter.
36:59It's all about quarterback play here in these kind of games.
37:01You know, I feel like Otto wasn't having his best game.
37:04Missing pros, missing some people that was open.
37:07The game was on the line.
37:08We got two good quarterbacks.
37:09And I'm like, this is a moment for Izzy.
37:11This is your moment.
37:12Let's go, Izzy.
37:13Let's go.
37:14With down running down, Izzy Carter will have one more chance to lead his team to victory.
37:19All right.
37:21Carter will keep it.
37:22He takes off running.
37:23It's a seven-yard pickup for the Spartan.
37:26Nice.
37:26I like it.
37:27I'm assuming they put Izzy in the game because he can run.
37:31Carter drops back to pass.
37:33Throws a strike to Dreshawn Kemp.
37:35Izzy got the NFL on.
37:37Carter in rhythm now complete to Powell's walker.
37:40Nice, nice.
37:42It's a second down from the Seahawks, 37, as the Spartans trying to get into the red zone.
37:49Carter back to pass, looking to go to screen.
37:52The man falls down, and it's intercepted.
37:55Ezreal Carter just threw an interception on a screen pass with little time on the clock.
38:00Oh, shit.
38:01And the Seahawks can take a knee to win this ball game.
38:06Wow.
38:07It just don't feel right.
38:09It just don't feel like it should have happened like that.
38:11I was ready to go.
38:13And so, you know, it came down to that last drive.
38:15We're moving down the field, moving down the field, across the 50.
38:18As I'm about to throw the ball, he falls down.
38:21Ball get tipped in the air.
38:22That's what happened from there.
38:24I was frustrated, man.
38:27How many games we got left?
38:29Eight.
38:30Five games, man.
38:32Let's make it a good look.
38:34I ain't putting no more pressure on you.
38:35What's going to already be on?
38:37Talking to Otto after Wagner, I kind of knew how he felt about me putting Izzy in the game.
38:43And just assuring him that moving forward, I won't bother you again.
38:47I'm going to let you go play free.
38:48I'm going to let you close out the same weekend.
38:50You got my word on it.
38:51All right?
38:53After the game, when Coach Vick told me that I was going to be the starter from then on,
38:57I took it with a grand salt.
38:58You know, I've been in that position before.
39:00It's my team.
39:01I can do whatever I want.
39:02But if I feel like I made a mistake, taking Otto out, and I know I can't go back in
39:06time.
39:07I can always learn from my mistakes.
39:08What you think happened today?
39:10I gave Izzy a chance to go in there, make some plays, and win the game.
39:13He threw an interception on the screen.
39:15I don't know why I signed back up for this whole bullshit roller coaster.
39:18Because you wanted it.
39:20And you're not going to question yourself now.
39:21We're not going there.
39:29This past weekend was a prime example of why we're not winning games.
39:34We didn't see us starting off as 1-4.
39:36Right now, everybody's under evaluation.
39:38You don't put your hands on no coach around here.
39:41You've lost the finish of two games.
39:42That's the consequences that comes with my action.
39:45I don't want to mess up my future dream to play in the NFL.
39:48I am a Hampton University graduate.
39:51If daddy loses the game, he got to wear a Hampton shirt all week.
39:55Personal foul on this board.
39:56That's the same way we're losing games.
40:20We'll see you next time.
40:27Bye.
