Yoshinori Ono illustra il gameplay di Street Fighter X Tekken.
Trascrizione
00:01Hi everyone, this is Yoshinori Ono from Capcom. I'm the producer of Street Fighter X Tekken.
00:05I'm here to show you guys kind of an overview of the game as well as some details.
00:17So this game is basically a dream collaboration between the two hottest franchises out there in the fighting game genre.
00:25We have Tekken from Namco Bandai as well as our very own Street Fighter.
00:28This is a collaboration we couldn't do in the previous days, but now with new technology we were able to
00:35make it come true.
00:37So there were three basic design principles that we had when we were building Street Fighter X Tekken.
00:43The first being casual fun. With this game we wanted to bring as many users as possible to come and
00:48enjoy the game.
00:50We hope to get people who played Street Fighter or Tekken in the old days,
00:54Maybe they haven't played a fighting game in a while, but with a very large roster of characters that we
01:00have in this game,
01:00We hope to get those old fans back as well as brand new fans who have never really played a
01:05Street Fighter or Tekken or even a fighting game before.
01:08So the next point we have is the hardcore depth.
01:12We really think that we put in a lot of different kind of battle mechanics which the hardcore can really
01:17sink their teeth into.
01:19And basically we think that we have a lot of new things as well as some old mechanics which players
01:25will be able to flesh out again for this new game.
01:30The final point we have is customization. And what we want to do with this title is kind of bring
01:36players to put their own personality into the characters and not just play with the characters that we have always
01:43provided for them.
01:45So this is the core of the gem system which we think offers a lot to new players in order
01:50to help them play the game,
01:51but as well to more experienced hardcore players and adding a new level of depth to the strategy and just
01:59the matches when they occur.
02:01And then putting all this together we have the various online features in the game where we've built off a
02:08lot of the old features that were in Street Fighter 4
02:10but we've added in brand new netcode as well as a lot of new features which take advantage of the
02:15tag battle system.
02:17So you're able to play the kind of four player modes online and offline as well as do things like
02:22training online
02:23which we think that a lot of players will really enjoy being able to build their social networks through playing
02:29the game.
02:31So just looking at the character select screen here you can see that we have a very robust roster.
02:35we basically took the all stars from the Capcom Street Fighter series as well as the Tekken series.
02:42Basically we listen to the fans for a lot of input based on which kind of characters they would like
02:47to see.
02:48So we really think of it as a kind of fighting festival where all players from different genres, be it
02:54like fighting games or not,
02:56can just look at the roster and say, hey that's really cool, I know that character from way back when
03:01and then they can just jump in and have a good time.
03:02So now we'll just demonstrate some of the more hardcore fighting game mechanics in the game.
03:10Basically with this game we have a lot of old fighting game mechanics such as EX moves and super moves
03:16which you'll be familiar with if you've played Street Fighter 4.
03:20But in addition we've added in a lot of new things which we think really take advantage of the tag
03:25aspect of the battle system.
03:28And we hope you guys will be able to, you know once you get your hands on the game, kind
03:32of go through it and then kind of play around and find out what works best for you.
03:36So just real quick, basically meter management in this game is very important because having meter allows you to access
03:44a lot of the really interesting features.
03:45So we have the basic combos for every character called the cross rush.
03:50What this does is it allows you to bring in your partner character based off a very simple light, medium,
03:56heavy, heavy combo.
03:57And every character in the game has access to this.
03:59So we think it's a simple mechanic but it forms the basis of the core tag gameplay.
04:05And then obviously when your character comes in you have the opportunity to do combos and really opens up the
04:12combo tag battle system.
04:15So you can see here you can do various combos, this is just the tip of the iceberg really.
04:20In addition we have things called switch cancels.
04:22So you can tag normally like this but it's rather slow, kind of unsafe.
04:27If you want to tag in a more efficient way you can spend one meter to tag in the middle
04:32of a combo or a move.
04:34So this also opens up a lot of combo opportunities when you're able to do switch cancels at places like
04:42this and get even bigger, more damaging combos.
04:46In addition we have something called charge moves where you can charge up a move to make it more powerful.
04:53So this is Paul's normal lunge punch which he has from tag in.
04:56If you charge it up it becomes even stronger.
04:59If you charge it all the way to the third level it automatically becomes a super move which can be
05:04done at the cost of no meter.
05:06So this is really useful because you can actually dash in the middle of a charge move at any time
05:12and cancel it.
05:14So this is a lot like the EX focus cancel mechanic in Street Fighter IV.
05:18So you can charge, fake it, dash, go for a throw, there's a lot of different mind game which you
05:23can do.
05:24Which we think players will really be able to utilize.
05:27Another feature we have is something called the cross assault where you call your opponent or your partner onto the
05:33screen at the same time.
05:34And you just go on and wail it on the other character.
05:37Really good for opening up people when you're having a hard time.
05:40In addition we have things called team supers.
05:43So if you're familiar with the concept from Marvel vs. Capcom you can do kind of a team super which
05:49uses all your meter.
05:50But does a lot of damage and is well worth the effort to kind of land this move.
05:56You can see here it does around 40% damage to Kazuya.
06:01So it's a really important use of meter which we really want players to consider.
06:08So yeah in addition we also have the basic EX moves which return from Street Fighter IV.
06:13So this is done at the cost of 1 meter and it just gives you a powered up version of
06:18the attack.
06:19And the last is the Pandora mode.
06:21So one more thing we have is called Pandora mode.
06:26So let me just switch characters real quick here.
06:29Pandora mode is basically when your character sacrifices themself to give their partner a 10 second attack power boost.
06:38So this is good if you're low on life and you feel like I've got nothing to lose so I'm
06:44going to go for Pandora mode.
06:46One thing to note though is if you can't KO the opponent within those 10 seconds you automatically lose that
06:52round no matter what.
06:53So a lot of players were saying that this is such a useless thing because if I activate it the
06:59guy is going to run away for 10 seconds and I'm going to lose.
07:01But we're here to show you today that that's not really the case.
07:05There's a lot of possibilities with the system. Players just really need to kind of get their hands on it
07:09to flesh it out a little more.
07:10So it's performed if you have 25% life or less.
07:16So let me just set my life real here real quick.
07:19And then you can see that your light bar will be flashing.
07:22If at this time you do down down tag you'll activate Pandora mode where your character will sacrifice themselves.
07:28And then you get that power up.
07:30But you can also see in the upper left hand corner there's now a timer which is ticking down.
07:35Once that empties you automatically lose unless you have already KO the opponent.
07:40The cool thing is that you can combo into Pandora mode.
07:43So Ryu has an EX move here which causes a wall bounce.
07:46What you can do is EX move into Pandora mode and then go into a super combo.
07:54And if you look at the life bar here this does around 50% damage.
07:58So it's definitely a viable strategy if you want to set up for a comeback at the very end using
08:04this Pandora mode strategy.
08:06It's definitely possible so you know it's also possible off of a cross rush.
08:17So if you can't land that you know naked EX kick you can do it off a cross rush.
08:22You get a little less damage because of damage scaling.
08:24However this is a lot more consistent.
08:29So yeah I mean a lot of players were just saying that they didn't really know what the point of
08:33the system is.
08:34But here you can see that it's definitely something that's basically a viable strategy for the late and end game.
08:42If you feel like you want to go for that kind of flashy comeback combo.
08:45So now we'll move on to the more customization aspect of the game.
08:49So obviously when we talk about customization in this game a large part of it is the gem system.
08:56And right here you can see the gem edit menu.
08:59So for different characters you can set different gems as well as presets.
09:02So we'll just go into an example here with view.
09:06You can see that there's different types of gems.
09:08So there's basically two types.
09:10There's boost gems which increase the parameters of your characters.
09:13And there's assist gems which cover for your weaknesses as a player.
09:18So just an example of a boost gem.
09:20Right here we have the immense power gem level 1.
09:23What this does is it gives you a 10% damage output when you connect with 5 normal moves.
09:28And you can also see that it lasts for 20 seconds.
09:32So you can equip up to 3 different gems in each slot.
09:36So I can have 3 different gems of my choosing.
09:41And then you can also save your preferred loadout and give it a custom name, a custom title.
09:46So it's important to note that all these gems are different.
09:48So you can see this one also gives you 10% for 20 seconds but you need to block 5
09:53times for it to activate.
09:55This one activates after you connect with 3 normal moves.
09:58So we have a lot of different gems in the game which have different effects in different conditions.
10:03So we want players to kind of go through the list and say what kind of player am I?
10:08Am I the kind of player who does a lot of attacking?
10:11Do I want to increase my attack power?
10:13Or am I kind of a defensive player who needs help blocking?
10:16Like this one.
10:17Let's say I get hit by a lot of fireballs.
10:20So in this case it would help for me to have my defense increase by 10%.
10:26So you can see here we have ones that increase your speed with these divine speed gems.
10:33You get 10% bonuses, things like that.
10:36We have ones that where you recover life as well as ones that increase your cross meter acquisition rate.
10:44So what we want to say is that no gem is more powerful than other gems.
10:49Basically it's like equipment for your player.
10:58We'll go over here to the assist gems which were a little more controversial when we first introduced them.
11:07But we want to show here that actually while assist gems have great benefits for beginning players,
11:12they also have a lot of penalties as well.
11:14So the easy input, super easy input gems, they make your commands easier.
11:19So you don't need to do half circles or quarter circles, but they give you attack decreases throughout the entire
11:26match.
11:26So you'll be playing with a 10% handicap if you choose to use these gems.
11:30If you're the kind of player who can execute, then there's really no reason that you'd want to use this.
11:35It's really just for people just starting out who have problems doing these kind of difficult fighting game movements.
11:42We have the cancel assist, which helps you cancel special moves easier, as well as auto thrust game and auto
11:48block.
11:49So these are also, a lot of people were worried that this would be too powerful,
11:53but you can see here the cost is that it eats up your cross gauge, your meter.
11:57And we showed there's a lot of uses to having meter, to doing the team supers, the cross assault, switch
12:03cancels EX moves.
12:04So if you're having your meter constantly drained by this auto block gem, you're not going to have access to
12:09those other more powerful parts of the game.
12:12So we really think that this is stuff that's just for really beginners.
12:15Once they get the hang of the system, then they're going to want to stop using these assist gems,
12:20move over to the more, you know, customizable part of the game, which is the boost gems.
12:29So a lot of people might be thinking, you know, when they first hear the gem system is,
12:34oh, is this just a, you know, power up for my character?
12:36Am I going to be able to beat, you know, am I going to be able to beat players who
12:40are way better than me just by having gems?
12:41And, you know, we're here today to say that's not really the case.
12:45It's not a way to cheat the system.
12:46You still need to put in time in the training mode, you know, work on your game.
12:50I mean, the best way to think about it is equipment for your character.
12:54So if you take, you know, a sports analogy, let's say soccer or I mean football, where, you know, we
12:59have like players and they have their equipment,
13:02they have their uniforms and their spikes.
13:04So these are things which help them play the game better.
13:07You can play football barefoot if you want, but if you have, you know, the shoes for the right surface,
13:13then you're going to play better.
13:14So that's how we really think of the gem system is.
13:16It's equipment for your character to kind of put your own personality into and, you know, just kind of customize
13:23it.
13:24So it's not always the same view or guile.
13:27You know, it's going to be my view, my guile.
13:29This is the way I play the game.
13:30So this is the way my character is going to be.
13:33So what we want players to realize is that, yeah, there's no gem which is too powerful.
13:39It's just, it's just different ways to customize.
13:43You know, if you guys know about, you know, Wayne Rooney, he's a really great player.
13:50So if you go buy the same shoes as him, it doesn't mean you're going to be as good as
13:54he is.
13:55That's the same way we look at the gem system.
13:58If you just have a certain amount of gem, it doesn't mean you're going to be a great player automatically.
14:02You still need to practice and you need to work on your team.
14:14So the last thing which kind of wraps up all of our features together is the really robust online functionality
14:21which we built into the game.
14:22So as we mentioned, you can play, you know, training mode online with your friends.
14:26And you can also do any of the new modes online as well.
14:29We have the two player, or we have the pair play battles and the scramble modes.
14:34And these are four player modes which you can play online or offline.
14:38So what's really great is if you're playing, you know, by yourself in your house as long as you have
14:41an internet connection.
14:43And friends somewhere in the world, be it, you know, London, Tokyo, it doesn't matter.
14:47You can just jump into a game all together and play at the same time.
14:50So we really think that players will be able to enjoy this game, you know, alone but with friends as
14:55well online.
14:58So the last thing I just want to say is that for Street Fighter X Tekken, what we really wanted
15:03to do is kind of build this kind of great festival atmosphere for everyone so that, you know, we can
15:10have new players, we can have old players, we can have beginners, experienced, casual, it doesn't really matter.
15:15You know, as long as we can get a lot of players to come and enjoy the game, then we'll
15:19be able to have, you know, a great time, you know, just playing all together.
15:23Good.
15:25Good.
15:25Good.
15:25Good.
15:26Good.
15:30Good.
15:31Good.
15:32Good.
15:33Good.
15:34Good.
15:35Good.
15:36Good.
15:36Good.
