00:05Hey guys, today I'm going to tell and show you a little bit about Shiveri Medieval Warfare,
00:09which is a first person slasher set in the Medieval era.
00:12It does have a multiplayer focus, so you have battles of up to 32 players online.
00:16So one of the difficulties that we've had in promoting the game
00:18is that people have this preconception that melee combat sucks.
00:22Because in most games, it does, because it's thrown in on the end
00:25it's something that they don't focus on, and that's really unfortunate
00:54come 300, Troi, Gladiator, King Arthur,
00:57e portare l'esperienza in una forma che non è pure realizzazione,
01:03non è pure arcade,
01:05è un'occhezza in between,
01:27e veramente, all'uisi voglia di fare è chiamati.
01:29In Chivalry,
01:30ci voglio fare gli obiettivi
01:31la più parte del mondo,
01:33le più parte del mondo,
01:34quindi tutti gli uomini
01:34e tutti vogliono fare l'obiettivi
01:36che si vogliamo fare l'obiettivi
01:38e le tue strane di drammatica e cinematico
01:40che davvero mati,
01:42e vedere la scala della scena che succedeva.
01:44Quindi,
01:45So, a Medieval army wouldn't go into a village and, you know, raise a flag to capture it, like you
01:49do in other games.
01:50A Medieval army would go into a village and butcher everybody, and they would burn everything.
01:55And you get to do that in Chivalry.
01:57And that's just one example of how we've made the objective something that you genuinely want to do, and can
02:02have a lot of fun doing.
02:04Chivalry has a massive arsenal of weapons, where you actually get the choice to choose between something that changes your
02:09playstyle entirely.
02:11So, if you have something like a bill hook, which is a really long polearm, you can literally hit people
02:15from a much farther away than they can hit you with something like a hand axe.
02:19But, if that guy with that hand axe or that mace gets up close to you, he's going to smash
02:23your face in.
02:23So, you have to keep him away from you.
02:25You have to fight with that distance.
02:26A little bit like boxing, to be honest, where you have to try and, like, jab if you're more of
02:30a polearm guy, keep them away from you.
02:32If you're the close-up front brutality guy, you've got to get in there and just go berserker on people's
02:37faces.
02:37And so, it creates this interesting dynamic where the weapon you use actually affects the playstyle that's most appropriate for
02:44you to play with.
02:45So, when you're engaged in that combat, when you're fighting back and forth with someone, and you actually defeat them,
02:50there's a true satisfaction in knowing that you beat your opponent.
02:53You've bested them in the combat.
02:54And when you lose, when you're on the side of the coin, you actually lose the battle, instead of being
02:58frustrated by being shot from 300 feet away, you actually have this sense of appreciation and respect for that person
03:04who defeated you.
03:05And it makes you want to go back and make up for those mistakes that you made.
03:08So, what happens is you have a really skill-based combat system where you have to get to know the
03:13timings of your weapon, the reach of your weapon, and become really familiar with it.
03:16So, you can defeat all kinds of different opponents using all different kinds of weapons and classes.
03:21So, one of the interesting elements that Chivalry brings that you won't find in other games is that the amount
03:25of tension you have in a combat with another person.
03:28You know, his sword just narrowly avoids your head, you scratch him across the chest.
03:32And when those fights, those epic fights, end with a decapitation or a limb flying off, that's when it's truly
03:38rewarding and you feel the glory of a medieval battlefield.
