00:33So, King of Chinatown is the third level that we're showing people from Hitman Absolution.
00:39And it's a level from the second act of Hitman Absolution.
00:44So it's fairly early in the game.
00:45But it's the first time that we're going to show a hit in Hitman Absolution.
00:50And we show Hitman, he's given a briefing.
00:53This time it's from a character called Birdie.
00:55It's not from the agency because at this point Hitman is outside of the agency.
00:59But he's been given a briefing by a character called Birdie.
01:02And Birdie wants some information.
01:04And it's only by taking out the King of Chinatown that Birdie will give 1847 this information.
01:10So you have a crowded area, a crowded Chinatown.
01:15And you have many, many ways to take the King of Chinatown out.
01:19There's a huge amount of replayability and a huge amount of surprises in that level.
01:23Hey, King! Wow! Look at the suit! Look at the suit! Is it tailor-made?
01:30Man, I've got to get you one of those. Cut the crap!
01:34Whoa! Gotcha! So how much product are we talking about?

01:51Last E3 we showed a level with quite a lot of stealth.
01:55And we showed like one playthrough.
01:58And we showed no deviation from that at all.
02:01When we showed The Orphanage in January, we decided to show two playthroughs.
02:05So we showed the stealthy one and the action one.
02:09And now we're showing it here.
02:11But it's so hard to show everything at every time.
02:13Every opportunity that we have to show guys.
02:14So it's just the time and the campaign that we're deciding to do this.
02:21Yeah, so you have the King of Chinatown.
02:22He's being protected by bribed policemen.
02:25You could in theory just walk straight up to him and shoot him.
02:30Or kill him with your bare hands.
02:33But of course that would alert all the police.
02:36And the police would start firing at you and it would be very hard to escape.
02:40You can create basically an accidental kill.
02:43You can poison his food.
02:45It's possible to find poison in the level.
02:47And poison his food.
02:49Or poison his drugs.
02:50Or poison his coffee.
02:51And then kind of sit back and just watch this happen.
02:55You can snipe him as well.
02:57You can find a sniper rifle and just find a good vantage point and snipe him.
03:00Or you can make things fall on him.
03:02Or you can push him down a hole.
03:04So you've got plenty of ways to kill him.
03:06You can even blow him up with an explosive.
03:09So there's quite a rich arsenal that's available to you.
03:18Also with the challenge system, you're constantly being encouraged to replay the level.
03:24Because it's basically impossible to clear all the challenges in one playthrough.
03:30So by playing the level again and again, you can complete all the challenges and then get a higher score.
03:34Yeah, a lot of work's gone into it.
03:37Into the close combat system.
03:38We wanted it to be quite violent and quite effective.
03:45So we wanted Hitman to be able to take out an opponent with very few attacks.
03:52And just show his strength.
03:53And just show this as a trained killer who can kill with his bare hands.
03:57There's no coin.
03:58You're not default equipped with a coin.
04:00But there are many things in the environment that you can pick up and do stuff with.
04:05So yeah, you could pick up a brick or a bottle and you could toss it.
04:10And you can control the direction and the height of the throw.
04:15And the noise of the impact will create people being cautious or being curious I should say.
04:22So people, AI will walk towards the sounds and then you can do something else.
04:25You can basically create distractions.
04:27What's more, of course, is if you have something like a screwdriver or a knife.
04:34You could use it as a distraction, but you could also use it as a ranged weapon.
04:38Or as a close combat attack weapon.
04:41If there's a cop in a quiet place, if he becomes aware of you.
04:46If you're able to stop him being aware of you by subduing or by killing him.
04:50So long as you hide the body, so long as nobody sees it, then nobody else will be aware of
04:55it.
04:55So long as they don't see the body or they don't see a blood pool or something like that.
05:00Similarly with the crowd, if you pull out a weapon, the crowd will see an armed man in a crowd.
05:06And they'll start to be scared.
05:08By sheathing the weapons, they'll go back to being calm again.
05:11But if a policeman sees a guy whose arm, they'll start attacking you.
05:16In the E3 demo, we're presenting the fact that we have five difficulty settings.
05:20We're presenting the fact that we're aware that there's hardcore fans who want something very special,
05:30something very challenging.
05:31And for them, we're giving purist difficulty mode.
05:34And that's the details of it.
05:35And we'll talk more about that later in the campaign.
