00:17Grazie a tutti
00:30Paris in the spring, the scent of blossom on the soft breeze, love was in the air, life was good.
00:39Nico and I had met again by chance at an art show. The evening stretched ahead.
00:49I was about to suggest dinner when fate intervened in the shape of a pizza guy with a gun.
00:58He took a life and he stole a painting that was worth little and meant even less. Or so I
01:05thought.
01:09Why did he have to kill him, Georges? What's going on?
01:13I don't know, but we're going to find out.
01:17Once again, Paris had shown me her dark side. Nico and I were about to be drawn into a new
01:22and terrifying adventure together.
01:24A journey into a conspiracy as old as the written word, where ancient heresies would cause innocent blood to spill
01:31once more.
01:33I had a bad feeling. And I really hate the sight of blood.
01:39And cut. Perfect. Terrific work, guys. Thanks, everyone. That's a wrap.
01:45So, what's next, Charles?
01:47That's it, I'm afraid. Unless we get the funding.
01:49That's it? We had some fantastic gameplay lined up.
01:53And we'll never bring the murderer to justice.
01:55And I'll miss out on that cable car gig. That is a stunt I was born to do.
02:00What about the Russian henchmen that almost killed me?
02:03Mysterious, long-lost temple we're going to discover?
02:05The exotic locations?
02:07The ingenious puzzles.
02:08And that bit where you get such a fright that you...
02:11Nobody wants to hear about that, Nico. So, what's next?
02:14You guys have some great fans. Perhaps they can help us.
02:22Don't worry, George. Charles will sort it.
02:26Oh, yeah?
02:26Remember when everyone said we couldn't afford to blow up the chapel in Scotland?
02:33Yeah, you're right. Charles got the cash.
02:37And remember your little difference of opinion with Karzak on that boat in London?
02:43Such a charming man.
02:47Oh, when everyone said we'd never get visas for Syria.
02:50And then health and safety wouldn't let you jump off the cliff.
02:55Although, they kind of had a point there.
02:58Charles made it all happen, didn't he?
03:01Yeah.
03:09Hi. My name's Charles Cecil. I'm the director of the Broken Sword series and I'm the CEO of Revolution.
03:16Back in 1996, we wrote the first Broken Sword. We've written four in total.
03:21And over that time, we're thrilled to have won or be nominated for a range of awards from BAFTAs through
03:29to Writers Guild, from DEVELOP through to Golden Joysticks.
03:34And it's an amazing privilege for me and the team to write games that so many people love.
03:40With the advent of digital distribution, we've been able to self-publish our games.
03:44We've produced a director's cut of the first one and a remastered of the second.
03:47And that's allowed us to build a direct relationship with you, something that we value enormously.
03:53So many people contact us asking, demanding a new game in the series.
03:57So I'm thrilled to be able to announce that we are writing a new Broken Sword game.
04:02We can't show you too much, it's still at a very early stage, but it's 2D, it's HD, and we
04:07intend it to be the best Broken Sword game yet.
04:10We've got many of the original team members back again.
04:13And because this is unashamedly 2D, we're working with highly talented traditional artists and background colorists,
04:19with experience in studios such as Disney, Ardner, Universal and many others.
04:26The game will feel epic and will remain true to our adventure roots.
04:29It won't be 3D, it won't be full of ads, and the gameplay won't be compromised.
04:35It will be a traditional adventure because we love these games just like you do.
04:39We've been building the game for 6 months and so far, we've funded it ourselves.
04:44We've written the story, designed the puzzles, created the characters.
04:48But adventure games are expensive to write.
04:50That's why we're seeking your support.
04:52We're launching this Kickstarter campaign so that, with your help, we can finish the game.
04:59So what do you get if you support us?
05:01You'll be joining an exclusive community made up of people who have made pledges.
05:05We'll give you the inside track on the whole development.
05:08We'll post regular videos so you can see how things are going.
05:11And we'll be totally candid, so you can see the highs, the lows and the in-betweens.
05:16And when you contribute, not only do you get the game when it's finished, you can also get some great
05:21rewards.
05:21We'll be creating a special box version of the game, only available to Kickstarter funders.
05:26We're putting together a book about the history of Broken Sword with lots of never-seen-before artwork.
05:31We're commissioning a cool comic.
05:33We're offering t-shirts, credits in the game, original artwork, wrap party invites and loads more.
05:40And as well as all of this, you'll have our eternal gratitude
05:44for allowing us, for the first time, to write a game independently of a publisher
05:49with total creative freedom.
05:52Thank you for watching.
05:56With your help, this can be the best Broken Sword game ever.
06:00And take a look at those rewards.
