00:00Hi, welcome.
00:01Are you happy?
00:02Good job.
00:32Ladies and gentlemen of the Tempest Company, this is your 15-minute call. 15 minutes.
00:36Nate, sweetie, I just wanted to give you a little thank you, Prezzy, for everything you've done for us.
00:43I can't believe it's our last show.
00:47I'm going to miss you so much, my lovely.
00:50Yeah, me too.
00:56Nate, hon, is everything all right?
01:01Spirits hear me.
01:03It's our needs must curse, but they'll not pinch.
01:06No, it sounds brilliant.
01:08And it's the lead, is it?
01:09Oh, great.
01:11OK, yeah.
01:12No, I can get a tape over to you.
01:14When's the deadline?
01:16I'll find someone.
01:17OK, my darling.
01:18Let's do lunch when I'm back, OK?
01:20And I'm paying this time, you cheeky monkey.
01:23All right, you can pay.
01:24OK, lots of love.
01:25Bye.
01:27Another self-tape.
01:28So annoying.
01:30I'll tell you what it was, but I've just got to sign an NDA, you know.
01:33So...
01:33That's cool, Mum.
01:34Police for you.
01:35Guys.
01:36Guys, we've got a situation.
01:37Like, a bad one.
01:39Rich is a no-show.
01:40His phone's going straight to voicemail.
01:41I think we all know where Prospero's total off deal.
01:49And it's no, no, never.
01:53No, no, never.
01:54There it is.
01:56And I guess our last night was always going to be a mad one.
01:59After the way this tour's gone.
02:02It's no, no, never.
02:03But we both made it to the end.
02:07Fred and I, no.
02:08No, no, never.
02:09No more.
02:10Would I play?
02:14No, never.
02:17No more.
02:18Rich. Rich, come on.
02:23Rich, we've got to go.
02:25Skedaddle, youth.
02:26Rich, come on, there's an audience. They've paid to see us.
02:28To see you.
02:31Come on, you're not going to let them down, are you?
02:37It's all right, come on.
02:39Hey, hey.

02:52Oh, sweet Lord.

02:58Just a little dry around the mouth, that's all.
03:00Final call for Miranda. Act 1, scene 2.
03:02Final call, Miranda.
03:05Oh, no, no, no, no. That's a prop.
03:10Oh, not surprised.
03:21Then to sea boys and go hang.
03:29This is a scurvy tune.
03:33Oh, but here's my comfort.
03:36Do not torment me.
03:38Oh.
03:38Whoa, what's the matter?
03:40Have we devils here?
03:42If all the wine in my bottle will recover him,
03:45I will help his ague.
03:50Oh, that's a brave God.
03:54And bear celestial liquor.
03:56Come, our men.
03:57I will pour some in thy other mouth.
04:05Stavano.
04:06Ah!
04:06Oh, must thy other mouth call me?
04:08Why, this is a devil and no monster.
04:11Stavano, I am Trinculo.
04:13Be not afeard.
04:14Thy good friend, Trinculo.
04:17Very Trinculo indeed.
04:19I swear upon that bottle to be thy true subject.
04:23I'll show thee every fertile in show the island.

04:30I see.
04:33I prithee.
04:36Let me show thee where crabs grow.
04:40And with my long nails, I'll dig thee pig.
04:45Pig nuts.

05:39No.
05:40No.
05:41No.
05:46yes Thomas what's up are you at the shop sir I am practicing my darts oh can't say you don't
05:53need it since I got myself a decent set of arrows my form was improved get in I'm presuming this
06:02isn't a social call you got a case a suspected poisoning occurred during a theater performance
06:07the victim collapsed on stage what you sure it wasn't an accident according to paramedics the
06:12symptoms suggest it's cyanide poisoning interesting no everything all right I think I might have just
06:22nearly killed Harry what are you doing man you can't play on here it's not safe Michael Farah 32
06:33years old suddenly collapsed halfway through the second act of the performance the tempest the
06:39poster said yeah last 10 months they've been touring beaches all over the world with it
06:44this was their final performance sergeant Fletcher's taken all the necessary statements
06:48Caliban I'll take it one sec let me check yes yes he was I mean two points for you inspector
06:57how did
06:58you work that out well he looks monstery you know not a human I assume the smell of almonds got
07:05the
07:05paramedics thinking it was cyanide which is fast acting so do we know what he consumed before he
07:11died well apparently he drank from this moments before it happened it's a fiasco I mean I'm trying
07:18my best here sir I haven't been here for long I just got here oh this is a fiasco oh
07:23it's a
07:23traditional Italian wine bottle he'll have drank from this in act two scene two the famous drinking
07:28scene let me check for you again boom shakalaka two more points for you again inspector it was
07:35indeed act two scene two oh the man knows this Shakespeare he does cherry juice that'll be for
07:42the red wine so chances are we're looking at our murder weapon that's what you think right but it
07:49can't be because two others drank from the same bottle during the performance Stefano and Trinculo
07:55that one I don't know sir but based on your previous farm two pints again so what happened to the
08:00other
08:00two actors who drank from this not a thing the paramedics checked them out and they seemed fine
08:06and um they recorded the show seen as it was the last performance so I will watch it back and
08:12check to
08:12see what happened but if they did drink from the same bottle then he must have ingested the poison some
08:20other way let's see what the rest of the company have to say these are two that drank from the
08:31same
08:31but there's a victim mm-hmm just Gorman and on your chambers she and the victim were in a relationship
08:36together and she's taking it pretty badly who are the others so this is Richard Dempster he directed
08:44this production and he also plays uh Prospero there comes a moment in every actor's life a certain
08:52character's call to you I had no choice I had to submit okay and this is Nathan Burns he's the
09:02company stage manager I swear if there was poison in that bottle it wasn't me that put it in there
09:07actually Mr. Burns we're working on the basis that the poison was administered another way really oh thank
09:12god yeah the cyanide's fast acting so if it was in your system we'd pretty much know by now we'd
09:19like
09:19to know what else Mr. Farah consumed in the 20 minutes or so before he died Mikey never ate for
09:26a show not
09:27for two or three hours did he drink anything I just sip water what did he drink from one of
09:34those water
09:35flask thingies there it is okay so take me through exactly what happened this afternoon anything out of
09:47the ordinary we went up a bit late by about 15 minutes how come just um technical hitch and once
09:59the show had started oh um Michael was on stage in scene one he doubles as the bosun take in
10:07the top
10:07sale 10 to the master's whistle no no very very swift makeup costume change reappear as Caliban in
10:17act one scene two Anya helps him well helped with that then how did he seem then fine and what
10:27about
10:27before he went on stage and collapsed a bit nervous pacing buying his nails he always was before that
10:36scene there are a couple of tricky speeches in it but he wasn't looking ill can any of you think
10:43why
10:43someone might want to do this to mr. Farah mikey was loved by the whole company very talented boy he
10:54had
10:54the whole world at his feet if we're working on the basis that the killer got the poison into Michael
11:10system 15 20 minutes prior to him dying on stage and it must be one of the cast or a
11:15stage crew that
11:23did he have to die on stage today in front of an audience and on the very last show of
11:27the tour I mean
11:29after today they could all go home right they never have to see each other again so why did he
11:34have to
11:34die on that stage today this is a public beach right well we're gonna need some security to keep an
11:43eye on
11:43the crime scene I get sergeant Fletcher and officer Rose to do a sweep of the place on it
11:57you're all right mr. Dempster oh oh yeah 10 months on tour will do this you
12:20well I recognize you from somewhere oh yeah hmm it's a whole community police scheme thing we're
12:28doing sounds thrilling I didn't catch your name in the frenzy of it all sergeant Matty Fletcher
12:35sergeant Matty Fletcher would you like to go for a drink with me uh while I'm on the island no
12:41that's
12:42inappropriate mr. Gorman you know with me being a police officer and you a possible suspect in a
12:49murder case right yeah well that makes sense um I hope that wasn't too embarrassing not for me it
12:55wasn't good good I guess as an actor I lost all sense of shame a while ago did he just
13:03ask you
13:03on a date during a murder investigation that's a red flag right there maybe he's the killer maybe he's
13:09trying to get close to the police to keep an eye on the investigation or maybe he's just a bozo
13:14that's also a possibility yeah crazy man take a bow Mikey because it's all over now I told you it
13:36was
13:36always gonna end this way oh that's great man I'll get the beers yeah yeah and some snacks nice what
13:54time should we say around seven ish yeah cool man all right nice one see you then I just arranged
14:00a
14:01dance night with Daryl tonight he's gonna get his mates round it's gonna be a bit like being back
14:06home you know lads standing around the dartboard beers banter the only thing that's missing is a
14:12sticky pub carpet and some pork scratchings pork scratchings yeah they are the quintessential English
14:18pub snack it's fried pig skin I'll get some sent over for you oh no rush oh lab results yes
14:30and they
14:31confirmed the victim died from potassium cyanide poisoning no surprise there they checked Michael's
14:37own water bottle and found no traces of the poison in it whatsoever nothing in this water ball as for
14:44the fiasco cherry juice fairly high glucose levels they noticed but most importantly a lethal dose of
14:55potassium cyanide that is surprising poison was in the bottle that our victim and the other two actors
15:03drank from on stage mm-hmm so how can three people drink from the same poison bottle and only one
15:10of them
15:10die doesn't make any sense well we can rule out the pretending to drink theory I mean these guys are
15:32drinking from the bottle for real no question so what if one of the other two actors slipped the
15:37poisoning on stage just before Michael Jack from it yeah rewind it a bit okay play could it be jazz
15:47now that the bottle is in view the whole time and he's not adding anything to it also Michael's not
15:53the last person to drink from that bottle Seb's right and your drinks after Michael so even if
15:59something had been added by jazz and he would have consumed it as well how how do they all drink
16:08the
16:09same liquid with with poison in it but only Michael Farah dies who's sergeant Fletcher on the phone to oh
16:18uh actors agent back in the UK when we spoke with the rest of the cast this morning a um
16:24Casey Briscoe who
16:26plays Miranda she said she saw Nathan Burns accosting the victim just moments before the show even
16:32started I'm telling you this is all gonna come back on you and sooner than anything and there's a rumors
16:36going around that is history between them so Casey slash Miranda said we should speak to this agent
16:42did you get anything from the search nothing interesting I was suspicious you know I've never seen him do this
16:54before me neither inspector hmm what's this funky true and you've been homing yeah I don't know it's
17:02been in my head since yesterday I can't shake it I can't place it wait a minute
17:23bingo it was an advert it was on the telly about five years ago they kept playing it
17:32see that's what I was humming and why is this relevant wait
17:43that's why that's Nathan Burns the stage manager man he's like a better actor than all of the others
17:54put together Nathan Burns was an actor and he has history with our victim I just spoke to an agent
18:01in
18:01London who used to represent Nathan she remembers him as being super ambitious the whiffbuster ad wasn't
18:08the end of his rainbow then the agent said about eight years ago Nathan had a really important
18:14audition for the production of Macbeth at the National Theatre in London and he didn't get it but guess who
18:20did Michael Farah and more than that Nathan went to the police at the time he was adamant that he
18:30was
18:30spiked before the audition by Michael by Michael
18:45so I get this big audition and I go down to London and stay in a cheap hotel near the
18:50theatre Michael's staying in the same place me and him get chatting in the bar the night before what were
18:57you drinking just softs but Michael insists on getting the last round
19:02I go to bed at 10 next thing it's midday and I've missed the audition you think he drugged you
19:08he was taking out the competition and you went to the police they said there wasn't enough evidence whatever he'd
19:14given me was already out of my system what happened after that I never got another break like
19:20did a bit of theatre and education a couple of tv ads with buster yeah with buster
19:29then I quit so you tour with this guy for 10 months and it never comes up
19:39Mr. Burns just before the last show you were seen arguing with Michael saying
19:45it's all gonna come back on you and sooner than you think mate
19:51you're referring to him sabotaging your audition
19:55that's some revenge
19:57spiking his drink like he spiked yours
19:59I didn't kill Michael because of what he did to me eight years ago
20:01still must have bothered you though right otherwise why bring it up
20:03I just
20:05I couldn't stop myself
20:07I was never gonna see him again
20:15we'll be in touch
20:23there is definitely something he's not telling us
20:26you think
20:39rich
20:41the police have been asking questions
20:44I didn't tell them what he did to you
20:47but
20:48if there's heat on me again I don't think I can stay quiet any longer
20:55to my own self be true eh
21:01oh Delroy
21:05say it again if you would
21:14sir how come you know so much about shakes
21:18seems unlikely you know with you being a day of the much much of the day kind of guy no
21:25disrespect
21:27when I was a kid
21:28when I was a kid I used to hang around outside the stage doors of West End theatres yeah in
21:33case I saw someone famous
21:34yeah they meet Vin Diesel
21:36no I don't think Vin Diesel ever trod the boards of London
21:40anyway I got to know some of the staff and they would let me sneak in and watch whatever was
21:45on at the time
21:46so yeah I have seen my fair share of the board's works
21:53also I got talking to the actor sometimes and they would say how hard a gig it was
21:58you know the failed auditions the unemployment doing rubbish jobs just to make ends meet
22:03it was it was tough competitive
22:05as our first suspect found out well could it be that that pushed Michael to do what he did to
22:11Nathan
22:11but it also shows there's a dark side to our victim
22:14spiking someone's drink just so he can get the role he wanted
22:17that's ruthless
22:18well whatever it was that led someone to poison Michael Farah
22:22well we still haven't got a scooby how we pulled it off
22:25I mean the man died on stage right in the middle of a performance
22:28drinking from the same bottle as these two
22:31but they didn't die
22:32he did
22:37did I Wilson speaking
22:40yeah I can talk now
22:44okay
22:47yeah yeah I understand
22:50have you spoken to my brother about this
22:53he has
22:54right
22:57okay
22:57well
22:59thanks for letting me know
23:05so is everything all right
23:13I knew mum would leave everything to Solomon
23:17I just didn't think he'd put the house up for sale as soon as it was his
23:23I thought we'd at least chat about it first
23:27and what about your mother's things
23:29according to the solicitor
23:31he's arranged for a house clearance company to take everything and auction it all off
23:37it all seems so rushed to me
23:38of course it's going to feel well
23:40would have liked at least a last look around the place
23:46maybe keep something of hers to remember her by
23:55then call your brother and tell him that's what you'd like to have him
24:00he's got to understand right
24:17hey you yes how can I help oh well actually I thought I could help you you know wind down
24:25after a hard day's police in the streets
24:28I've got some beers
24:30picnic blanket
24:31and um
24:33yeah I thought we could find a quiet beach and
24:36get to know each other
24:37hmm
24:38Mr Gorman
24:39yes
24:39did we not already have this conversation
24:42we did
24:43yes but
24:44I felt what was happening was
24:45you know you were on duty
24:47you had your colleagues around you
24:48and
24:49I think you were saying what you felt you had to say
24:52hmm
24:52no
24:53come on
24:54I'm not on this island for very long
24:55how often do you get to do this with someone like me
24:59let's just have some fun
25:01here we go
25:02here we go
25:03hmm
25:05hmm
25:06yes
25:06yes
25:08there you go
25:11cheers
25:13actually now that I think about it
25:15I did say that I was going to meet my friend
25:17what's the time now
25:18oh
25:19oh no you're spilling it
25:20oh what a shame
25:22I do have somewhere to be right now though
25:27do not bother me again
25:30unless it's related to the case
25:32Mr Gorman
25:33you understand
25:36good
25:37you enjoyed the rest of your evening
25:56Sergeant Fletcher
25:57good morning
25:58what have you got
25:59so I've been doing background checks on the other cast members
26:02and I noticed
26:03Anya Chambers and Jez Gorman
26:05were in the same play back in 2021
26:08and
26:08they ended up getting together
26:11and
26:12wait for it
26:13they only got married a year later
26:15hang on
26:16I thought Anya was with Michael
26:17she was
26:17she left Jez for him
26:19during the tour they'd been on
26:22why did this not show up sooner
26:24because it wasn't officially registered yet
26:26they had a vow ceremony in the forest somewhere
26:29there was a whole Midsummer Night's Dream thing going on
26:32yeah
26:32yeah you should have seen some of the photos they posted on social media
26:36that was some dress she wore
26:38respectfully of course
26:39so how did Jez feel about being replaced by Michael
26:42hmm
26:42well according to the other cast members
26:44really not so good seems to be the answer
26:53look I don't know who said that but it's nonsense
26:55so when Anya told you she was leaving you for Michael
26:58you weren't upset
26:59sorry why is she here
27:01is that normal procedure
27:02to bring a uniformed sergeant along
27:04it is
27:05yep
27:05yes it is
27:07okay
27:07fine
27:09so it's nonsense is it
27:10that you were upset about Anya
27:12yes
27:13I mean Anya's the one who's losing out
27:15not me
27:15all our mutual friends
27:16deciding with me
27:17she's the one who's going to have to move in with her parents when she gets back home
27:20not me
27:21I mean it hurts
27:22yeah
27:24of course it hurt
27:24really hurt
27:26but I didn't kill Michael because of it
27:28I wasn't looking for revenge
27:32ah this is my agent so I should probably take
27:34no
27:36you shouldn't
27:37okay she'll leave a voicemail
27:38this is a murder investigation Mr Gorman
27:41and your wife fell in love with a victim
27:43that's a very strong motive
27:45well that's where you're wrong actually
27:47they didn't fall in love
27:49I mean maybe she did I don't know but
27:51it wasn't reciprocated
27:53what makes you say that?
27:57because he told me so
28:01a few nights before our final performance
28:03we all had a bit of a sesh
28:05at the hotel bar
28:06some of us went for a dip in the sea
28:08Michael comes up to me and says
28:10he's going to end it with Anya
28:12because he's got some
28:14off-Broadway play
28:15and she's not what he needs right now
28:19and did he end it with her?
28:21yeah
28:23five minutes before the beginning of our final show
28:27talk about timing eh
28:36thank you
28:39Anya's in room 352
28:41that was Seb
28:43the security team at the crime scene
28:44say somebody tried to break into
28:46the dressing room area last night
28:48guess a description
28:50is that something that we could have missed?
28:52right you and officer O's
28:53get down to the crime scene
28:54let's go and talk to Anya
28:57yeah when's the dead work
28:59yes Seb?
29:00yeah I'm sure I can get some
29:01to put me on tape
29:05Mikey and I
29:06had gone to collect rich from this bar
29:08he drinks in
29:10that was why we went up late
29:12so that was the technical hitch
29:14we literally had five minutes
29:16before the performance was about to start
29:18Mr. Dempster
29:19let's get you dressed
29:20fight! fight!
29:21you son of a man
29:23Michael just blurts it out
29:25I can't do this anymore
29:28I'm going to New York
29:31I'm going alone
29:32you gave up your marriage
29:34from Michael
29:35you risked everything
29:38it must have hurt then
29:40when he told you
29:41it was over between you two
29:42I don't know
29:48what was it that drew you to Michael?
29:51he felt like
29:53a kindred spirit
29:56it was something I'd never had with Jez
29:58in what way?
30:01Mikey cared so much
30:03about his work
30:03but it terrified him
30:05he was just striving
30:07to be as good as he could
30:08knowing it could all be torn down
30:10by a critic
30:12or the audience
30:13and that vulnerability
30:14drew me to him
30:15because I feel it too
30:17in everything
30:21okay so in that moment
30:22when he
30:23told you he'd finished with you
30:25you must have felt
30:26betrayed
30:27angry
30:28and within the oa he was dead
30:30what?
30:32you think I did it?
30:35because of
30:36I remember
30:38how even
30:41you think I'd carry around
30:43around a bottle of cyanide with me
30:44just in case I get dumped
30:47and if you've forgotten
30:49I drank from the same bottle as him
30:51why would I do that
30:53if I knew there was poison in it?
31:00you know
31:01my mum's church
31:02has this dirty thing going on
31:05and sometimes
31:06think about doing a bit
31:07to myself
31:08you know
31:08it's just
31:10the words sometimes
31:11I really struggle with words
31:14like
31:20the winds
31:21did sing it to me
31:23and the thunder
31:24that deep and dreadful
31:26organ pipe
31:27pronounced the name of
31:28Prosper
31:29it did bass me trespass
31:31bass me trespass?
31:33I mean what does that even mean
31:34like bass me trespass
31:36like a
31:37boombox type of bass?
31:38less of the bass
31:39and more of the search in
31:40sergeant Fletcher
31:41commissioner
31:42afternoon
31:43afternoon sir
31:44might I have a word?
31:52how is the investigation going?
31:54we're making progress sir
31:55we've already got a few
31:57suspects in mind
31:59is everything alright sir?
32:02a complaint
32:03has been made
32:05accusing you of
32:06unprofessional conduct
32:08by who?
32:10Jess Gorman claims
32:11you tried to initiate
32:12a romantic relationship
32:13with him
32:14he said what?
32:16and when
32:17he turned you down
32:18twice
32:19you pursued him
32:21as a suspect
32:21in the case
32:23that is just
32:24not true
32:26we interviewed him
32:27because there was
32:28evidence to suggest
32:30he had a motive
32:32and it was
32:33Mr Gorman
32:33who asked me out
32:34twice
32:34I swear
32:35to you sir
32:36he is making
32:37this all up
32:39I mean
32:40I would never
32:40do something
32:41like that sir
32:41you believe me
32:43right?
32:45look sir
32:46ask officer Rose
32:47he was there
32:48the first time
32:49Mr Gorman
32:50asked me out
32:50he will tell you
32:53very well
32:56leave it with me
33:05what exactly
33:06am I looking for
33:08this
33:10dough
33:10cannot find a thing
33:11hey
33:26Sarge
33:27I think I found
33:29something
33:31what is it?
33:35it's a
33:36beach
33:37like a key
33:39with a few of them
33:40two minutes
33:40off the road
33:44oh
33:58syringe
34:02well I'm assuming
34:03that's the cyanide
34:11a tin of throat
34:11bozenges
34:12you all right
34:13then Mr Dempster?
34:22right
34:22Mr Dempster
34:25this lot
34:26has got your
34:26fingerprints
34:27all over it
34:28no one else's
34:29you care to explain?
34:32it's thanks to
34:33Michael Farah
34:34that I fell
34:35off the wagon
34:36sorry?
34:37for this tour
34:38I've been sober
34:3920 years
34:40what happened?
34:42Michael was
34:42offered this
34:43this off
34:44Broadway show
34:45it's gonna get him
34:46some good publicity
34:47in the States
34:48well at the same time
34:49we had the chance
34:50of extending
34:51our tour
34:52by three months
34:52to South America
34:53and you didn't
34:54want to lose
34:54your caliber
34:55no
34:55and I mean
34:56Michael was
34:57contractually obliged
34:58to stay
34:59if further dates
35:00were added
35:00I'll refuse
35:01to release him
35:01well we know
35:02Michael was
35:03very ambitious
35:04so I assume
35:04he wasn't
35:05happy about that
35:07it's our first
35:08day off
35:09in the Caribbean
35:10Trinidad
35:11we all spent
35:12the day
35:12by the pool
35:14cheers
35:17thank you
35:18I didn't realize
35:19till it was too late
35:20oh dear boy
35:21putting shots
35:22of vodka
35:23in my soft drink
35:24all day
35:26once I got
35:27the taste for it
35:27well
35:27double um
35:29double whiskey
35:30geez
35:3120 years
35:32without so much
35:33as a sip
35:34it all came
35:35crashing down
35:36Nathan
35:37and dear Anya
35:38they were first
35:39to realize
35:39I was back
35:40on the source
35:40took it in turns
35:42bless him
35:44bring me to bed
35:45did you tell them
35:45what Michael did
35:46yes
35:47I don't think
35:48Anya believed me
35:49but Nathan did
35:50Nathan
35:51there is definitely
35:53something he's not
35:54telling us
35:55he said that
35:56Michael had done
35:57something not dissimilar
35:59to him once
35:59despite his drink
36:02so that's what
36:03Nathan was holding
36:03back
36:05when he confronted
36:06Michael before
36:07the final show
36:08it wasn't just
36:09about his experience
36:10eight years ago
36:11I'm telling you
36:12this is all
36:13going to come
36:13back on you
36:13and sooner
36:14than you think
36:14mate
36:14it was also
36:15about what
36:16he'd been
36:16doing to you
36:17the irony
36:18of it is
36:19that funding
36:20fell through
36:21and the end
36:21tour was never
36:22extended
36:22Michael got
36:23exactly what
36:24he wanted
36:24now I
36:26had the sense
36:27he usually did
36:27which brings us
36:28back to
36:29this little
36:30collection
36:31I think he
36:32poisoned one
36:32of these lozenges
36:34gave it to
36:34Michael backstage
36:35then added poison
36:37to that wine bottle
36:37on stage
36:38after he died
36:39to misdirect us
36:40make us think
36:41that's what killed
36:42him
36:43afraid my little
36:45plan wasn't
36:45quite so smart
36:46well and not
36:48so deadly
36:49bottle doesn't
36:50contain cyanide
36:52contains
36:54lysergic acid
36:55diethylamine
36:59LSD
37:01the hallucinogen
37:02I've injected
37:03one of the lozenges
37:04but not with
37:06cyanide
37:06I don't want
37:07to kill him
37:08I just wanted
37:09him to feel
37:10how he made
37:11me feel
37:13all powerless
37:16I wanted
37:17everyone to
37:18see it
37:20with the
37:21cover that I
37:21am I didn't
37:22go through
37:22with it
37:26and when
37:26Michael collapsed
37:27on stage
37:28and we were
37:29called
37:30what was I
37:31panicked
37:31all your
37:32frenzy
37:33I ran to
37:33the beach
37:34lockers
37:35hit the
37:35evidence
37:36so it was
37:37you our
37:37security
37:38saw trying
37:38to get
37:38into the
37:39dressing room
37:40to get
37:40that key
37:41did you tell
37:42anyone else
37:43about your
37:43plan
37:44so smashed
37:45half the time
37:45I might have
37:47left it lying
37:47around
37:50I don't know
37:50inspector
37:55just a moment
38:02I think he
38:03might be
38:04telling the
38:04truth
38:04we've rewatched
38:06the video
38:06and after
38:07Michael
38:08collapses
38:08no one goes
38:09near the
38:10bottle he
38:10drank from
38:11and look
38:11Jez Garman
38:12puts down
38:13the bottle
38:13here
38:13and no one
38:15touches it
38:15again until
38:18I do
38:18there
38:19so the
38:20poison was
38:21in the
38:21bottle all
38:22along
38:23nothing was
38:23added afterwards
38:24no sir
38:26so how come
38:27the other two
38:28that drank
38:28from the bottle
38:29didn't die
38:30and he
38:31did
38:41you've
38:41reached
38:41Solomon
38:42leave a
38:43message
38:43I'll get
38:44back to
38:44you
38:46so
38:46it's me
38:47again
38:48can you
38:49call me
38:49back
38:49please
38:55so I
38:55just heard
38:56back from
38:56a few of
38:57Jez and
38:57Anya's
38:58friends in
38:58the UK
38:59trying to
38:59get a
38:59handle on
39:00their
39:00marriage
39:01breaking
39:01up
39:03right
39:04no one
39:05was shocked
39:06it seems
39:07Jez wasn't
39:07the most
39:07faithful
39:08of
39:08husbands
39:09he saw
39:10it as
39:10a kind
39:10of
39:11open
39:12marriage
39:13right
39:13and what
39:14happens on
39:14tour
39:14stays on
39:15tour
39:15and after
39:16three years
39:17of marriage
39:17Anya felt
39:18betrayed
39:18and humiliated
39:19just basically
39:20took her for
39:21granted
39:21but obviously
39:22never expected
39:23her to
39:23actually leave
39:24so when
39:25Anya hooked
39:26up with
39:26Michael
39:26that must
39:27have really
39:27thrown him
39:32still haven't
39:33heard from
39:34your brother
39:36you know
39:36what
39:37I think
39:38he's
39:38actually
39:38ignoring
39:39my calls
39:39I keep
39:40thinking
39:40about how
39:41things were
39:41between us
39:42you know
39:42when we
39:42last saw
39:43each other
39:43they weren't
39:44great
39:44in fact
39:45if I'm
39:45honest
39:45I kind
39:46of
39:46think
39:46it's
39:46because
39:46of
39:46me
39:46that
39:47we're
39:48going our
39:48separate
39:48ways
39:49then maybe
39:49you should
39:50go visit
39:50him in
39:50Antigua
39:51you think
39:52yeah
39:53just go
39:53talk to
39:54him
39:56I'm heading
39:57to the lab

45:07i need
45:07you to
45:07run
45:07another
45:08top
45:08report
45:08on mr
45:09farrah
45:09but i need
45:09a glass
45:10of water
45:10first
45:10you're
45:11dehydrated
45:11no it's not
45:12to drink
45:12it's just a little
45:13experiment that will
45:14finally prove
45:15what really happened
45:16on stage three
45:17days ago
45:18one glass of water
45:19coming right up
45:28now
45:29now i don't want to talk ill of the dead
45:33however i think it's fair to say that michael farrah was a selfish and self-interested
45:39individual who only cared about what he wanted in life and how he was gonna get it
45:44but did the malicious and hurtful things he did to each of you really mean he had to die
45:54anya you obviously thought he did
45:58because it was you that poisoned him
46:00what
46:00what
46:01no
46:02i absolutely did not
46:06the mystery we've been trying to solve throughout this case
46:09is how three people
46:12could drink from
46:13the same poisoned bottle
46:16yet only one of them dies
46:20we didn't know it
46:21but the answer has been right in front of us from the start
46:24and in a way
46:26mr farrah gave it to us
46:28in his dying breath
46:30and with my long nails i'll dig the pig
46:33and i with my long nails will dig the pig nuts
46:39because that's the thing about caliban
46:40he was a monster
46:42right
46:42and as part of michael's makeup
46:44to help make him look more
46:46monstery
46:48his nails are painted
46:50and that's how he was poisoned
46:53we need to get this to the lab
46:55but we've already had michael's fingernails tested
46:58and it was confirmed
46:59there were traces of cyanide
47:02in the dried varnish
47:03it was administered anya
47:06by you
47:07during his wardrobe change from the bosun
47:10into his caliban costume
47:11makeup
47:12and painted fingernails
47:16nathan you said michael would get particularly nervous
47:20while waiting to go on stage for act 2 scene 2
47:22yeah
47:23a bit nervous
47:24he would pace
47:25and bite his nails
47:27which after touring for 12 months together
47:30and having become intimate with him
47:33you also knew anya
47:35but i told you michael only ended things with me
47:39half an hour before he died
47:40how could i plan his murder in that time
47:43you're right
47:44michael's murder was planned in advance
47:47but now we know the killer had to be you
47:50then it follows that you'd already found out michael was planning to end his relationship with you
47:56you're getting in
47:57yeah maybe
47:58and with michael telling jess as much
48:01look
48:02i'm gonna end things with anya
48:04i think you overheard that conversation
48:06after everything i thought you should know
48:07and we believe that's when you decided to kill him
48:10then if michael's fingernails were poisoned
48:15why was there poison in the bottle
48:18that was to misdirect us
48:19right
48:20to confuse us with the seeming impossibility
48:24that three people could drink from it
48:26but only one die
48:27why weren't they all killed
48:29i'm glad you asked me that mr dempster
48:31because to answer that
48:33we need to look to your own plan to get back at michael farrow
48:36we know miss chambers helped to put you to bed a number of times
48:40when you've overindulged
48:43and you admitted yourself
48:49you left the cigar box containing the syringe
48:52the lozenges
48:53i might have left it lying around
48:55and this little bottle lying around the place
48:58we believe you came across this box miss chambers
49:08and that's when your plans started to take shape
49:13but instead of using lsd
49:16you used a fatal poison
49:20now i have to admit
49:22it didn't register with me at first
49:24the significance
49:26but when our lab tested the liquid
49:28in that poison bottle
49:30the cherry juice
49:31as for the fiasco
49:33they found the level of glucose in it
49:36higher than normal
49:37that's where this comes in
49:42just over an hour ago
49:43i dropped one of mr dempster's throat lozenges in this glass of water
49:48and now look
49:51it's gone
49:53dissolved
49:56and that's exactly what you did anya
49:58with that wine bottle
49:59just before yourself
50:01jez and michael went on that stage for act two scene two
50:04you see
50:05no
50:05as long as the lozenge was whole
50:08and hadn't dissolved
50:10jez
50:10it was safe to drink from
50:13which you all did
50:17but by the time we arrived at the crime scene
50:20and sent the bottle to the lab to be tested
50:22the lozenge had already melted away
50:26releasing the poison
50:27making it seem like it had been there all along
50:33but why
50:34why did you kill him
50:38anya
50:39when you and michael got together
50:41you were still feeling
50:43hurt
50:44and embarrassed
50:46by your husband's
50:48ongoing infidelities
50:50him taking you for granted
50:52so for michael
50:54the
50:54kindred spirit
50:56that you'd risked everything for
50:58to humiliate you even further by finishing with you
51:02only a few months after getting together
51:04well
51:05it more than hurt
51:07and that's when you realised
51:10that perhaps
51:12the rumours you've heard about michael
51:14which you previously dismissed
51:16were actually true
51:19that mr dempster's claim
51:21that michael spiked him
51:23actually happened
51:25did you tell them what michael did
51:27yes
51:27i don't think anya believed me but
51:29and that nathan burns's own past running with mr farrow
51:33was more than mere gossip
51:35there's been gossip amongst the cast that there's
51:37history between them
51:38so you decided to do something that was
51:41long overdue
51:42and on behalf of yourself
51:43and everyone else here whose life he'd ruin
51:47you would give michael something he deserved
51:51to make him the one to finally suffer
51:55his own downfall
51:56his own humiliation
51:59right there on that stage
52:00for all the world to see
52:04and that miss chambers
52:06is why you killed him
52:16anya chambers
52:17i'm arresting you for the murder of michael farrow
52:21you do not have to say anything
52:23but it may harm your defence
52:25if you do not mention when questioned
52:29something which you later rely on in court
52:43you now see another yourself already
52:45it's never a knock
52:48ah return of the bozo
52:51could could we have a quick chat please
52:57i uh i just want to let you know that i officially dropped
53:00my complaint this morning and um
53:03and i wanted to say i'm sorry
53:06you know you could have lost me my jar
53:09just because i wouldn't have a drink with you
53:12what kind of sick little messed up brain you have
53:14yeah that's pretty much what your commissioner said
53:17wait the commissioner
53:18yeah he was the one who insisted i apologize
53:20and said he was going to charge me with wasting police time
53:23he caught my agent
53:24he's a pretty terrifying guy actually
53:27oh and there he is
53:30okay
53:30well look i'd rather not have to deal with him again
53:33so i'm really sorry
53:45sir
53:47he apologized
53:49he did
53:50thank you sir
53:52i'm sorry i couldn't get him to drop his complaint sooner
53:56the man was clearly
53:58making it all up
54:02so you knew
54:03he was lying all along
54:04of course
54:05but one has to follow procedure
54:08in situations like this
54:12it's
54:13i just
54:15i just thought you didn't believe me sir
54:18you know after
54:20everything that happened
54:22before
54:23you made
54:24a promise to me
54:26that there were going to be no more
54:28mistakes
54:29and
54:31i tend to take people at their word
54:33you're a good sergeant
54:34i can see that
54:36so
54:37keep it up

55:31and i'm definitely
55:31going to antigua
55:46i don't believe it
