00:00Rajya Kumari ma'am, first of all welcome to INS.
00:02And tell us something, you have sung in the fashion show,
00:06so how was the experience over here?
00:07Singing live in a fashion show, so how was the experience?
00:10It's such a, it's like, it's so much fun to perform at fashion shows
00:13because I think musician and, music and fashion are at a crossroad.
00:17They influence each other, they're very involved, especially for me.
00:20I think people that know my music also know my fashion.
00:23So to perform for Shruti Sancheti and walk at Black May MTCI,
00:27and someone who loves fashion, that's the best stage to be at.
00:31Today, the design was all of Khadi, so tell us something about Khadi.
00:35What do you know about Khadi and what exactly you are wearing right now?
00:39Well, I'm wearing Shruti Sancheti's Khadi, but it also has a silk mix
00:43and it has all different types of, you know, methods of the smoking
00:47and the way that this is, you know, all the patches and everything.
00:50And I really feel like this collection represents us.
00:53I think, like, Khadi has always been like a revolutionary kind of fabric.
00:56It's been something that's homegrown and homespun
00:58and something that maybe we have to change our perspective on
01:01because the whole world is looking to us
01:04and they're borrowing our ideas and they're calling it great.
01:08So it's really important that we love ourselves
01:09and we put our fabrics on the main stage.
01:12So it felt really great to wear this so elevated.
01:15Okay, what is fashion for Raja Kumari?
01:17Oh, it's a feeling, it's an emotion, it's an expression.
01:20Sometimes I don't even know what I'm going to wear,
01:22but I'll just keep putting on the outfit until the vibration is right.
01:25So just like music, fashion is like that.
01:27You just got to be yourself.
01:29Okay, when you came to India,
01:32you didn't know anything about Khadi and all these things.
01:35So as you have told in the press conference also.
01:37So tell us something about that.
01:38Now, what do you know about Khadi?
01:40Oh yeah, I think Khadi can save my life in the heat.
01:43I mean, right now we're about to get the heat
01:45and then the mangoes and then the monsoon.
01:47But I would say that I think breathable fabrics
01:50and really just like investing in and finding the right fabrics.
01:54I mean, they feel so lovely on your skin
01:55and you know, just knowing how much work goes into it,
01:58how many weavers and how many people,
02:01how much goes into the threads and the fabrics.
02:03I feel like you can really feel that
02:04when you invest in the proper piece of Khadi.
02:07And today you were singing the Made in India song.
02:09The original Made in India actor was,
02:12Made in India someone was there.
02:13So how was the experience?
02:14Can we find him?
02:15Can I get a photo with him?
02:16I can't believe this.
02:17No, I mean, that's just like the coincidence of the moment.
02:20But the song Made in India, when I was young,
02:22I actually used to see it on TV from America,
02:25like on the weekend Indian news channels.
02:28So it's always been really inspiring to me.
02:29So when I got to remix it a couple of years ago,
02:32just being able to perform it everywhere,
02:33I usually close my show with it.
02:35So the fact that he was here, the man himself,
02:39we got to go outside and find him.
02:40I need a photo with him right now.
02:43Okay, tell us something about music and fashion.
02:46What similarity do you find in music and fashion both?
02:48I think with music, you have to add different elements
02:50to put something together like a fusion.
02:52And for me, fashion is that as well.
02:54Lastly, Shahrukh Khan's King is coming.
02:56So are you going to sing in that also?
02:58Well, you have to wait and see.
02:59But I mean, I do tend to keep it in the family.
03:01So I have to ask Suhana.
03:04Okay.
