00:01Hey everyone this is Robobob and I'd like to show you my game Nomoria.
00:05What we're looking at here is the first alpha build of the game and so some of it is still
00:10a work in progress.
00:12Just started a new game and I'm gonna kinda just play through a bit to show it to you guys.
00:17So let's get started.
00:18Now we start off with a group of gnomes and you know they've set off on their own.
00:24They're kinda tired of being ridiculed and everything and so they've left to this new uncharted land and they're gonna
00:32try to start a gnome utopia here.
00:35And our job in this is to kinda help them out.
00:38We're gonna kinda oversee them and try to make it work and make them last and survive for as long
00:44as we can.
00:45So I'm gonna kinda check out where they've decided to start their new lives.
00:50I'm gonna zoom out, take a look at the world.
00:53Now the world's procedurally generated so it's gonna be different every time you play.
00:58And everything that we see here can be broken down and you can rebuild it somewhere else.
01:04There's also height to the world so I'm looking at like a cross section of this mountain.
01:10And as I move up and down we can see the different slices of it.
01:15I can rotate so you can kinda get a better idea of it.
01:21And this inside grey part is, you know, inside the mountain.
01:24We haven't mined into it yet so we don't know what it is.
01:26So it's all this grey stuff that we're seeing is just like undiscovered, you know, parts of the map.
01:32So I think this is a good place to get started.
01:34And the way you play the game is you issue orders for your gnomes.
01:39So I'm gonna order all these trees to get chopped down.
01:43And, you know, they're gonna be busy running around doing stuff.
01:46And so they, you don't control them directly.
01:50You issue these orders and they get to them when they can.
01:52And that's indicated by these, by the green color here means that some gnomes have started this job.
02:00So if I unpause the game they'll come over and chop down these trees.
02:03And then these ones haven't been started yet.
02:06So I'm gonna also go ahead and forage some of these plants so that we can get some cotton and
02:13some strawberries.
02:15And I'm gonna forge these.
02:17And I'm gonna start mining into this small hill right here.
02:23So you can see what that looks like.
02:25I'm gonna make like a hallway I think.
02:28We'll make it out to here.
02:30And so you can see this area I've ordered to be mined out.
02:34And if I move up, you know, it's inside this hill here.
02:38So go back to our gnomes.
02:40I'm gonna unpause the game.
02:41And they're gonna run over and start carrying out my orders.
02:45So he just mined into there.
02:47And these guys are chopping down trees.
02:49Just kind of leaving logs everywhere.
02:52These guys are foraging these plants.
02:54And let's go check out that hallway.
02:56So they just mine out this hallway.
02:58And you'll see all this stuff on the ground.
03:00These are, you know, dirt clumps.
03:02So when you mine out a dirt wall, it leaves a dirt clump on the ground that I could take
03:07that.
03:08I could build a wall somewhere else, you know.
03:12Actually, let's go ahead and just build a dirt wall right now.
03:16Let's build it right here.
03:22And let's just put it right here so you guys can see.
03:28So someone's got that.
03:30Oh, here we go.
03:31She's grabbing dirt and they're gonna start building walls.
03:34So we've got some dirt walls going right here.
03:38But I'd kind of like to get rid of all this dirt without having to build walls everywhere.
03:43So I'm gonna mine out another room right here.
03:48And I'm gonna make it a stockpile.
03:50And then in that stockpile, I'm gonna tell them to stock dirt.
03:53So let's wait for these guys to mine this out.
03:59And so we've got the stockpile UI.
04:00I'm gonna select soil.
04:05And so you can see them, you know, stocking up all the dirt.
04:08Everyone's coming in to stock up dirt.
04:10And, um, so while they're doing that, I'm gonna go looking for some stone.
04:14Because I'd like to have some stone as well.
04:17And so I'm just gonna start digging straight down until I find it.
04:21So I'm gonna dig the stairs down.
04:23And I can rotate these stairs around.
04:26I'm gonna bring the walls down so they can see a little bit better.
04:30So we're gonna dig some stairs right there.
04:33And I think I'm gonna make, like, a spiral staircase.
04:38Kinda like the way that looks.
04:39So I'm gonna build mine around here.
04:42And then I'm gonna keep digging down.
04:49Now it shouldn't be too long before I find stone.
04:53Because there's, there's pretty much stone everywhere underground.
04:56And so, um, I should be able to hit stone pretty quick.
05:01Let's keep, let's keep digging down until we hit something.
05:07Okay, that looks like a little bit of stone there.
05:12Now this blue stone is lapis lazuli.
05:15It's kinda, kinda nice blue color.
05:17So I think, I think it's a pretty good place to start.
05:19Um, I'm gonna start mining out some rooms, I think.
05:26So let's do this.
05:35And then I'm gonna connect up these rooms.
05:43And then I'm gonna connect that up with the stairs so they can reach it.
05:48And they've already started mining it, it looks like.
05:52Okay, so while they're mining this out, um, let's go back up to the surface and check out the surface.
05:58Um, we got our awesome, important wall right here in the, in this, you know, middle of nowhere.
06:04And, um, got a mess of logs everywhere.
06:08Um, so our gnomes, they also, they need to eat and they need to drink.
06:13And, um, you know, to get, really get started here, we're gonna need to make sure that they can do
06:17that.
06:17So I'm gonna start farms.
06:20And I'm just gonna start one right here.
06:24So I'm gonna select this whole area to get farmed out.
06:26And, uh, let's, let's make strawberries.
06:30Gnomes, um, it's a little known fact, but gnomes love strawberries.
06:34So we're gonna start farming some strawberries.
06:37And you can see they're, they're going through, they're tilling the soil.
06:40They run over, they grab some strawberry seeds, they plant seeds.
06:43And they're just gonna keep doing that, this whole plot here.
06:46And then later when strawberries grow, they're gonna come pick strawberries and just keep doing the whole thing.
06:53Oh, I can see here that it's nighttime.
06:55And so it's dark everywhere, but they can kind of see a little bit around them.
06:59And, uh, you know, if we had, like, enemies over here, they wouldn't be able to see unless they got
07:04closer.
07:06So now strawberries, they can eat and they can use, um, to make things with.
07:10And, um, the other thing that we have is I can make a pasture.
07:14So I'm gonna make a pasture.
07:15And I'm just gonna make it right here.
07:18Start off with a couple of yaks.
07:21So I'm gonna make this a yak pasture.
07:24And somebody's gonna go grab my yaks.
07:27So we got a yak wandering around right here.
07:29I think she might be coming along.
07:30So she's gonna grab this yak and put him in the pasture.
07:36And, uh, she's gonna grab the other yak.
07:38Where's the yak?
07:39There he is.
07:41She's gonna grab that guy and she's gonna lead him into the pasture as well.
07:44So yaks, um, yaks are good cause you can milk them.
07:47And, uh, I mean gnomes, gnomes love yak milk.
07:50Um, you can also butcher them for meat, but we're not gonna do that because we love our
07:57yaks and we don't want to butcher them.
07:59That's, that's not nice.
08:01Um, okay, so we got, got a strawberry farm.
08:05We got our yak pasture.
08:07We got a big log mess here.
08:10And, uh, some dirt.
08:12Let's check out.
08:13Okay, so we got this area mined out.
08:15And I think we're ready to start, uh, building some workshops.
08:19So, I'll start off with a sawmill.
08:23In the sawmill we can cut logs into planks, which we're gonna need planks for more stuff.
08:30So let's go ahead and do that.
08:31And I think I'm gonna put it here.
08:34Um, let's rotate it that way.
08:36And I'm also going to build a stone cutter to cut some of that stone in the blocks so
08:43we can start using those stone blocks for things.
08:45I'll put that here.
08:46And then to kinda help these guys out, I'm gonna make some more stockpiles.
08:50So I'm gonna put a log stockpile near the sawmill.
08:54Uh, I'm not gonna select planks, I'm just gonna put logs in there.
08:57And I'm gonna make a stone stockpile, just raw stone, by the, by the stone cutter here.
09:05And, um, she's, she's, looks like she's building this, uh, sawmill.
09:11She's grabbing logs, and there's a different girl running over there grabbing those.
09:14So, oh, they've already started stocking logs in here, which is good.
09:17Uh, cause we got this big log mess over here.
09:20And, um, while they're building that, I'm just gonna keep, keep mining out, I think.
09:28Let's mine out the area, let's do that.
09:33Let's connect this up.
09:38Oh, okay, so we got our sawmill, oh, she's getting tired.
09:41Um, we got our sawmill built.
09:43So, open up the sawmill UI, and we can see we can craft planks, and it takes logs.
09:48So I'm gonna craft a plank, and I'm just gonna put that plank on repeat.
09:53And so they're just gonna, they're just gonna keep crafting planks whenever they get a chance,
09:58and as long as we have logs and everything.
10:00Um, and, uh, yeah, this is a pretty good start.
10:05Uh, let's look around.
10:06Um, so I think, I think actually this is, um, a pretty good place to end this first video.
10:11Um, we got, we got our farms going, we got our pasture going, and we started some workshops.
10:16I think the next thing I'd probably do is, um, start making some rooms, and then start crafting some beds
10:23for everybody,
10:23so they don't have to sleep on the floor at all, and they're all gonna start falling asleep on the
10:26floor here in a minute.
10:27And, you know, we want to take care of our gnomes, so we're gonna make some rooms for them.
10:31And, um, yeah, after that, you keep, keep going, and, um, eventually, you, you start to attract some more gnomes,
10:40and we're gonna grow, get more gnomes here, and, um, you know, that's gonna let us build more stuff,
10:47and we're gonna be able to, uh, craft things more efficiently.
10:52And the other thing that's gonna happen is, we're gonna start attracting some enemies,
10:56cause they're gonna, they're gonna be jealous of our gnome utopia, and they, they just wanna crush that.
11:02So, we're gonna start getting attacked later, too.
11:06And, um, and to help out with that, you know, we can build, build traps, and start crafting some weapons
11:12and armor,
11:13and maybe, maybe wall off this area here.
11:16And, um, there's also mechanisms in the game, so I, you know,
11:21where we can build some windmills, and some axles, and gearboxes, and hatches,
11:26and kinda make, you know, levers, and kinda make up our own, um, contraptions
11:31to try to help, help survive, and, uh, fortify our little area.
11:36And, um, yeah, there's a lot more coming, because this is just alpha, and, and, you know,
11:42more stuff being worked on all the time.
