FIFA 16 vs PES 16 - Video preview di PlayStation Access.

00:04Sì, siamo arrivati a AXS, non a E3, ma ancora ancora di E3.
00:09In the E3 microfoni.
00:10Yeah, E3 microfoni.
00:12And this is our annual football, which is the best video, FIFA o PEZ?
00:19And exactly, or it's not really which is the best, it's that this is the time of year where we
00:23finally get to play the new versions.
00:25Yeah, we played the new versions.
00:26And we just talked about it.
00:27They both changed.
00:28A lot, yeah.
00:29Yeah, so in different ways.
00:30Let's do FIFA first.
00:32Okay, yes.
00:33So you interviewed Nick.
00:35I did.
00:36I've interviewed Nick, I spoke to him a few weeks ago.
00:38Yeah, it's got lots of sensible improvements, I felt, FIFA this year.
00:42There's no big, gimmicky, box-friendly thing that they're promoting.
00:47It's just lots of little sensible improvements that improve the game.
00:51Yeah, and you know, like, so we did Seven Things It Fixes, or that's on the channel at the moment.
00:56And it is, you know, it's those.
00:57One of the things that struck me was that they've been talking about how the engine is strong.
01:02Like, that's like the line they're saying, so there's no, like, we've remade goalies, or, you know, it's, we've remade
01:08goalies a couple of years ago, and now we're trying really hard to make them as good as they can
01:11be.
01:12And it's like that with everything.
01:14I think they realised that last year's game was, like, really unbalanced in terms of pace.
01:18So everyone was just, if you play online, probably, I'd say, two out of every three teams that you play
01:24in the upper divisions are Real Madrid, because of their pace.
01:27And they want to kind of bring back, I think the philosophy they're going with is we want people to
01:32be able to play with any team in any way they like, and have, like, an equal chance of winning
01:36as long as that team.
01:37It's a nice sentiment, isn't it, but everyone's still going to play as Real Madrid and Barcelona.
01:41Well, that's the thing, Barca weren't as good this year as they should have been, whereas, you know, they were
01:45the best team we knew.
01:45Yeah, that's true, by a long way.
01:47So I guess, like, and for me, the stuff where you play and you actually, the stuff that you feel
01:54as you play was, the defending is, like, stronger, it's quicker to get back at attackers once they've gone past
02:01you once.
02:02There's, like, a few new animations and stuff.
02:04The slight tackling feels great.
02:06Yeah.
02:06I mean, I'm one of these people who, like, I will swear at the telly if I go in for
02:10it.
02:10If I press circle, I know what I'm doing.
02:12I've used the alternate controls.
02:14If I press circle, I want my person to go to the ground.
02:18And if I miss the tackle, that's fine.
02:19If I do a foul, I probably meant it.
02:22Like, the half lunge, which they've been doing sometimes, or even just completely staying on their feet, drives me crazy.
02:27Yeah, it's incredibly hard in FIFA 15 to foul someone.
02:31Yeah.
02:32Like, really hard.
02:33You're fouling.
02:33Like, if someone's through on goal, I'm just going to take this yellow, maybe even a red here.
02:37Yeah, exactly.
02:37Sometimes it has to be done.
02:39So now they're, like, missiles again.
02:42So they're a bit longer, they're a bit, like, firmer.
02:45There's, like, more animations about how to actually get the ball.
02:47And it feels like it's more in control, you're in control.
02:50And also, if you tap X, because one of the other things I do is I find it incredibly frustrating
02:54when you're playing, especially against a good team, when you do a slight tackle.
02:57You win the ball, and the ball kind of goes loose, because it's not completely clean.
03:01And then you take longer to get up and recover than the person you've tackled.
03:05Yeah.
03:05Which, in football, is, like, that's just not realistic, because you carry momentum, and you just get up fast.
03:10And now if you tap X, you can get up at the end of your slight tackle and kind of
03:13get back involved.
03:14So loads of the defendings are much better.
03:17They have, like, precision, what do they call it, passing, I think it's called pass with precision.
03:23But it's basically pinging the ball really quickly with a modifier using, like, R1.
03:28FIFA can sometimes feel, like, not very urgent when you want to get a ball forward.
03:33And it's like, there you go, and the receiver will be like, it's coming, it's coming.
03:39And now, if you're Tony Cruz, and you see Benzema up there, 40 yards away, you can just smack it
03:46hard and accurately.
03:48And I think the idea is that you have to time it, like, the timing's going to be fairly challenging.
03:53And the player who's receiving the ball has to be, you know, obviously the better your timing needs it to
03:57receive the ball.
03:58But that player's going to have to be quite skilful, otherwise it could just ping off at, like, a weird
04:02angle and be quite frustrating in the end anyway.
04:05But the idea is they're kind of reclaiming the midfield with that.
04:07And so players will do, they're doing more interceptions in midfield, so you can't be bypassed quite as easily.
04:13And the other thing they're doing is you can do, you can dribble without touching the ball.
04:20Which is cruel.
04:22So you can kind of move around the ball, you can feint this way and that.
04:25So you can kind of combine, so you're holding down R1 to, like, stay off the ball, while, like, just
04:30moving on with momentum.
04:32And then you can still use the trick stick to, like, to move your body and to feint this way
04:36and that.
04:36And, like, it's probably because it's new and novel, but when I've played it, that, like, against people, like, it
04:42just ruins it.
04:43They're just, like, because you're just so unused to the animations lying to you.
04:46Why are you lying to me?
04:47And the thing I thought was most impressive was how the defensive AI now marks space.
04:52Yes.
04:53Sees danger and doesn't just blindly follow people.
04:57Dude, it's so important.
04:58It's amazing.
04:59So many times I will be playing the game and you know there's a break-on, especially with the pace
05:05of last year.
05:05Yeah.
05:06And your fullback will be, like, crab jogging backwards.
05:09And I'll be like, just run, like, into that space.
05:12And now they will leave their, you know, they've got, like, better intelligence for knowing when space is dangerous and
05:19not for just when people are dangerous.
05:21So I played that.
05:22And then, like, compared to Pez, now, like, for me, FIFA, I was like, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.
05:28Here's everything that is new in new FIFA and I like it.
05:32It's good.
05:32When I played Pez, I was like, I like it.
05:35It's good.
05:35But I didn't really get, like, you know what I mean?
05:37I couldn't really put my finger on why, apart from my beat Dave.
05:40And I scored some pretty good goals.
05:43So do you have, like, more of a...
05:44Pez just feels really nice.
05:46Not really, no, because it is just a kind of a feeling I got when I started playing Pez this
05:50year.
05:51It was like, oh, oh, it's way better than last year.
05:53Even though I loved last year's game, I've now realised that last year's game has a bunch of stuff wrong
05:58with it because this year's game has fixed all of those things.
06:01So is it weird, like, I guess to give people just a bit of context so they know the ways
06:05in which we play these games.
06:06So in the office, we are almost entirely Pez.
06:08And you and Dave in particular have got, like, a...
06:10A master league.
06:11A master league, which I sometimes drop in and out of.
06:13They allow me to play.
06:14But you play FIFA all the time with yourself.
06:17At home, yeah, I'm, like, more...
06:18But not, like, it's normally co-op seasons with him against other people.
06:22So that, like, so those...
06:24So I guess that might reflect the specific things that I get frustrated about FIFA and about Pez as well.
06:29For me, the stuff that...
06:30I mean, I think I preferred FIFA last year.
06:33I liked Pez and I liked dropping into the master league.
06:35The stuff that would frustrate me would be just sometimes, like, the length of time it would take to turn
06:41seemed to be, like...
06:43Compared to FIFA, there was, like, less fluidity in the movement of the players.
06:46Specifically with Pez, there are a few things it's definitely improved.
06:49One is the physicality of it is hugely improved.
06:52Like, battling for, you know, aerial possession of the ball.
06:57New jostling controls.
06:58I actually...
06:58Triangle is just shoulder barge.
07:00Yeah.
07:00Like, if you're quite often in Pez, players can feel tethered to the ball.
07:06Yes.
07:06Or, like, the game will decide that a player has possession of it.
07:10And to dispossess that player is really difficult.
07:12It's hard.
07:12We come across that a lot because when you're playing with three people, which I guess does stress the engine,
07:17all on a co-op team.
07:18If you press through ball, and we think it's for one of us, and then, like, the game has, like,
07:23had originally thought it was for the other one.
07:24And then we kind of just, like, run into each other.
07:26You're trying to get to the ball with the player the game doesn't think the ball is for.
07:31With the intended ball.
07:31And it's so hard.
07:33Yeah.
07:33But in the new Pez, that's been fixed.
07:36It does seem freer, yeah.
07:36It really seems like they've put a lot of effort into making that not happen.
07:41Like, you can just...
07:43It's more organic the way you can grab players, and intercepting the ball is much easier this time.
07:48Like, in old Pez, the ball, you'd have a midfielder, the ball would go past, and the game would be
07:51like,
07:51No, he's not supposed to have the ball here.
07:53Just reach out.
07:54Yeah, you just couldn't get it.
07:55There was nothing you could do.
07:57You just had to watch it go past.
07:58Now, there's interceptions all over the place.
08:00Like, there was an instance where I was playing a guy called Andre, who works for Konami.
08:04And I was desperately jabbing X, trying to intercept this pass.
08:08And my player, like, desperately lunged for it and got the ball.
08:12And it was an amazing kind of connection between my actions and the actions of the player.
08:17It needs to be like a German word for the feeling you get when you realise there's a new animation
08:21in a football game
08:22that does exactly the thing you want.
08:25That would be the word, yeah.
08:26Yas.
08:28But it was incredibly satisfying being able to do that.
08:31And yet, it's far more physical.
08:33Interceptions are much better.
08:34Yeah.
08:35And just the whole thing feels more fluid.
08:37Like, turning in Pez 2015 was quite sharp.
08:40We're not...
08:40To be fair to the game as well, we are not playing in the Master League with the best players.
08:45No, we have, like, ordinary players.
08:47We do...
08:47We have bought some pretty good players now.
08:49Yeah.
08:49But it's a mixed field.
08:51I mean, I was playing as Germany.
08:52and then I played as Juventus in Pez 2016.
08:55Okay.
08:55And you could...
08:55I had Tevez and you could really feel the nippy, bullish strength and speed.
09:02Change of direction.
09:02Yes, changing direction with Tevez and whipping a shot in felt good.
09:06And Pez, I've always felt, does player individuality better than FIFA.
09:12Yeah, I think that's what we do.
09:12Like, you really do feel the difference between players like Tevez
09:15or if you've got someone like, I don't know, Ibrahimovic.
09:18Yeah.
09:18You feel the difference in technique.
09:20They kick the ball and they move differently.
09:23Language.
09:23Yeah.
09:24Ibrahimovic.
09:25It's improving all of it.
09:26So, basically, both games...
09:27Both games are great.
09:28...have really improved.
09:29Well, to sum up my thing about Pez, like, I don't know why it was better.
09:32I had, I think, three games with Dave.
09:35And we were, first one was, it was funny, like, the guy from Konami over our show
09:40was saying, I'm really glad you're not capturing this, lads, because this has been turgid.
09:44We were like, thanks, man.
09:45But he was right.
09:46No, he was right.
09:47And then our next game is, like, livened up.
09:49We scored more goals.
09:50And I don't know, the magic of, we talk to Konami and to EA every year
09:55just about kind of what they're doing.
09:57And, like, there's tons of complicated things that they're doing in the middle.
10:00But the end game is, we want to make it good when you score a goal.
10:03Like, that's because the magic moment of football is scoring.
10:06And whatever, so I've got less of an idea of how they've done that in Pez.
10:09But, like, I scored, I think, in the end, four goals across those three games.
10:14And by the end, you know, like, flowing moves, like, crosses into the box.
10:18And feeling, that feeling of scoring a goal was, like, you know, it was spot on.
10:23It was perfect.
10:24And like I said, I was really impressed, having been less impressed last year
10:27with the amount of changes that FIFA made to kind of the core gameplay this year.
10:31Like, there's loads of really interesting stuff going on.
10:33So, it's good times.
10:35There are two genuinely excellent football games coming out this year.
10:38Yeah, and we're only going to, we're going to learn more.
10:40Hopefully, games come up is often a big time when we get to another hands-on.
10:44Well, they're both coming out in September this year.
10:45Pez is out first.
10:47Yeah.
10:47Which is a massive change.
10:48A couple of weeks apart.
10:50So, make sure you stay tuned to the channel,
10:52because I'm sure we're going to have more on Pez and FIFA coming up.
10:54and please subscribe.
