00:03Hi, I'm Maciej Binkowski, I'm Lead Game Designer for Dying Light.
00:07Today, I'd like to show you a brand new gameplay for our upcoming expansion, Dying Light The Following.
00:13With this expansion, we want to introduce a new massive map, customizable buggies, new weapons and new mechanics.
00:19This is also the first time we're showing Dying Light The Following in co-op.
00:23All right, let's take a look.
00:27This is the countryside, a map bigger than all the areas from the original game combined.
00:33Kyle is led to this part of the world by rumors of people who seem immune to the virus.
00:39Unfortunately, the people we're dealing with are very close, so in order to get any information from them, we need
00:44to show goodwill.
00:49In this particular situation, we're informed that the groundwater has been contaminated.
00:54The community sent their people to fix the problem, but they never came back.
00:58If we can help them out, they might be willing to talk with us.
01:16Countryside is vast and it's not safe to travel by foot, so we're gonna take our buggies for a ride.
01:28Our buggy is not just a mean of transportation. It's an essential tool for survival and pretty awesome weapon.
01:36By the way, it's also fully customizable. You can change its looks, so liveries and paint jobs, but also add
01:44interesting modifications, like an electric cage which you'll be able to observe later.
01:48Now, to get access to these toys, you need to level up your driving skill tree.
01:52You get driving points for performing actions with your buggy, like speeding, smashing zombies, and jumping of rams and so
01:59on.
02:00When you get enough points, you level up and you get a skill point that you can spend on various
02:04unlocks.
02:11Okay, so we arrived at the pumping station. Now let's just get rid of the zombies.
02:17And here's a perfect example of how our cage works.
02:20There you go. Pretty sweet and useful thing.
02:25That's also one of our new weapons.
02:30And not so new, but still very cool, dropkick.

03:33So, the bandits didn't want to cooperate, so we're gonna do it the painful way.
03:45And that's a great opportunity to show you one of our new guns.
03:49We looked closely at what our community wants.

04:12SMG is only one of the new cool weapons.
04:15This is my personal favorite, the crossbow.
04:20And now that everyone's dead, we can head inside.
04:45Dying Light the following also introduces new variants of enemies.
04:53Like this guy.
04:55As you can see, he's wearing a bullet for Farmore.
04:57So, it's not that simple to kill him.
05:00But we're in co-op, we're gonna cooperate, stagger.
05:03And precise headshot.
05:05Protect me.
05:07Okay.
05:08So let's help that dude.

05:57If the pipes burst, we are all well and truly fucked.
06:01And as Ali poetically noted, if the pipes burst, we're truly...
06:06In deep trouble.
06:07Through the pipeline.
06:08For fuck's sake, hurry.
06:11The clock is ticking.
06:13We've gotta fix this as soon as possible.
06:15We're gonna run back to our rides.
06:28One of our buggies was a bit low on fuel, so this time around...
06:33Both of us gonna run in a single buggy.
06:36The buggy offers certain level of protection, but it doesn't make you invincible.
06:40You still have to watch out for exploding bombers.
06:44As you can see, vitals can be dangerous too.
06:46Drift, brake, and smash the environment to get rid of them.
06:52It is also important to watch your fuel gauge, because being stuck in the open probably won't end well.
06:58If you need gas, you can retrieve it from cars abandoned in the countryside.
07:04By the way, as you hit obstacles and zombies, the parts in your ride wear off.
07:10So eventually, you'll need to repair them or exchange for better ones.
07:24Oh yeah, I'm at some kind of pumping station. The pipeline ends here.
07:28They look for the main valve, goddammit!
07:30Body sparking alarm won't shut up!
07:33Okay, we're at the pumping station now to stop the leakage.
07:45The water level is already rising, so we gotta hold our breath.
08:18Okay, job well done.
08:37Ali, I got it. But the place was already flooded, so now what, we just wait?
08:42Yes. Now it should just be a matter of time.
08:46So we're good?
08:48We're better than good. I think you just saved all our asses.
08:52Get back to the farm. I'll tell Dracir, you're alright. You know, for a stranger.
09:00Now, we could head back to the farm, but we have a random encounter. Let's check that out.
09:06The only problem is, while we were inside, it got dark.
09:10And let me tell you, the night in the following, it's even scarier than in the base game.
09:18But fear not, we've got new toys to counter that.
09:24One of my personal favorites, the flamethrower.
09:35And one more zap from the electric cage.
09:40And some help from our shotgun.
09:50Alright, here we are. Last thing to do, is to retrieve the package, and go home safely.
09:57Or not.
