00:00All right, we do need to talk a little bit more about what happened in the first round of the
00:04round of 64 because technically first four games are the first round.
00:08But the round of 64 yesterday, Georgia, an absolute embarrassing showing against St. Louis and Kennesaw State.
00:21They put up a good fight against three-seeded Gonzaga, but that one ultimately ended how I think most of
00:28us thought it was going to end.
00:30But Gonzaga did put up a very good fight.
00:31They lose 73 to 64.
00:33But Georgia, goodness gracious, losing 102 to 77 to St. Louis, and the Billikens absolutely pounded Georgia last night.
00:44Deion Brown scored 18 points.
00:47He was 9 to 10 from the field.
00:49And guess what?
00:50Do we want to know why?
00:51Do y'all want to know why he was 9 to 10 from the field?
00:54Because he got nothing but layups, just like the rest of that Billikens team got nothing but layups.
00:59I mean, was Georgia, were they cones?
01:03Were they cones in the layup drill for the Billikens?
01:07Because that's what it seemed like last night.
01:09Nothing but layups, it seemed like, for the Billikens.
01:13Deion Brown gets 18 points on 9 to 10 shooting.
01:16Amari McCatry, 13 points.
01:19Robbie Avila, 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists.
01:23I mean, it just, ugh.
01:25It was not good.
01:27Defense was not good.
01:28Jeremiah Wilkinson was the only bright spot for the Dawgs last night.
01:31He had 30 points for the 8-seeded Bulldogs.
01:34And this was the, as you can imagine, most lopsided loss of the season for the Bulldogs.
01:40And they've, and shout out to my guy Squid Billy.
01:43He gave me a good stat.
01:45That, as I was in break, told me that combined, these last two tournament games for Georgia,
01:55obviously this year against St. Louis, last year against Gonzaga, they've lost their last two tournament games by a combined
02:0246 points.
02:0346 points.
02:06That is nasty work.
02:09Nasty work.
02:11And I hate to be this guy, but I'm going to have to go there.
02:17It seems like with Mike White at the helm, it seems like there's a ceiling with this Georgia Bulldogs team.
02:23We'll be competitive.
02:26We'll be okay.
02:27We'll make the tournament.
02:29But when the NCAA tournament comes around, probably not going to make a lot of noise, if any noise, at
02:37all.
02:37Because we ain't make no noise last night.
02:39We was quiet in that NCAA tournament loss last night.
02:43So it's definitely frustrating to see the Dawgs go out the way they did and not even be competitive in
02:50a game that I think they,
02:51I thought they were going to be able to win.
02:53I thought they should have won.
02:55And just to lay an egg like that and not even be close throughout the entirety of the game,
03:00just absolutely frustrating to watch as a Georgia fan, not only basketball-wise, but, you know,
03:07your boys from here, born and raised, I want to see Georgia do well in other sports,
03:11not just football, but basketball, baseball, softball, all of them.
03:14And to see them just completely lay an egg like that, it was definitely, definitely upsetting.
03:21Yeah, the Bulldogs, they were down 40 at one point last night.
03:2640 points in a tournament game.
03:28Nasty one.
03:2840 points is hard to get down in a college game just by, you know, the halves and the time.
03:33Yeah, it's hard to get down 40 in any game, period.
03:35In any game, period.
03:36Yeah, 40 in a March Madness tournament game.
03:40I think you're right.
03:41I think this team has a ceiling with Mike White, and I think we've reached that ceiling.
03:46Yeah.
03:46So, combined 40 points, 46 points in both tournament games, that's not good.
03:50You know, this wasn't, I think when we chose this game in our bracket, I really, you know,
03:56Georgia fans, Georgia through and through, go Dawgs.
03:58Right.
03:58I took this game with my heart, knowing that St. Louis was a good basketball team.
04:03Right, right, yeah.
04:03You know, we are a mid-SEC conference team.
04:06They are the top tier of their conference.
04:09Right.
04:09I can't think of their conference just right now.
04:10Now, year in, year out, they're number one, number two seed in their conference, year
04:15in, year out.
04:16They're in the A-10, by the way.
04:17A-10.
04:17A-10.
04:17They run the A-10.
04:19Yeah.
04:19Them and VCU, pretty much.
04:22And that, what's the kid?
04:24They call him Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
04:26Robert Avila.
04:27Robert Avila, yeah.
04:28Yeah.
04:28He didn't even have the game I thought he was going to have.
04:31No, he didn't even get off like that.
04:33No.
04:33And that's the most frustrating thing about it, too.
04:35You were able to neutralize him for the most part, but you gave up such easy baskets to everybody
04:40else.
04:40Everyone else.
04:41Yeah.
04:41I mean, they shot 58% from the field, mostly because they were getting layups the whole
04:45game.
04:45If I would have looked at the stat sheet after the game and said, well, okay, they neutralized
04:49him, their best player.
04:51Okay, I got us winning.
04:52No.
04:53It's exactly what you said.
04:54It was free, free, I call it free rollercoaster day for everybody.
04:59Everybody.
04:59Everybody was getting through.
05:01You know how, like the meme where they always like, this was the security at the game and
05:05the dudes was like barely patting him down.
05:07It was like that.
05:08They was like, okay, you know, well, it was like, you know, it was like, you
05:10know, it was like, again, it seemed like it was a layup drill.
05:12Like the Georgia was holding a little pad and like, it's just barely in the way and
05:15you just got to finish over the pad.
05:16It was like that for the Billikens last night.
05:19And so it just, again, a very, very frustrating line.
05:23I couldn't even tell you, bro.
05:24I'd have to look it up.
05:25I have no idea what the Billiken is.
05:28It's like a funny looking devil.
05:29I know.
05:29Yeah.
05:29It doesn't look like a mean devil.
05:31It's like a playful devil.
05:33Yeah.
05:33It almost looks like the animated version of a baby Yoda from the Mandalorian.
05:38It almost looks like that a little bit.
05:39It does.
05:39It does.
05:40It does.
05:40That's, that's what it first reminded me of when I looked at the mascot picture.
05:44That's what it reminded me of.
05:45So yeah, I'm not sure what a Billiken is.
05:47We will definitely look that up.
05:49But yeah, I, yeah.
05:50Like you said, a little, a little like a, like a, a devil that, that is up to a little
05:54baby devil.
05:54That's definitely up to no good.
05:56That, that smirk is, is medicine.
05:57But either way it goes, the, the Billikens were definitely menacing against the Bulldogs
06:03last night.
06:03They beat Georgia one Oh two to 77.
06:05They will go up against Michigan in the second round.
06:09So I don't know.
06:11I don't know what the next step is for Georgia.
06:13I have a feeling that Mike white is probably still safe, but again, like we, like most miles
06:19and I both talked about, it feels like the dogs have reached a ceiling with them as well.
06:23Now I will say this Kennesaw state.
06:25They did not have an embarrassing showing.
06:27They had a, I would call it very good showing against three seeded Gonzaga.
06:31They lose by nine, 73 to 64, the final score.
06:35And Kennesaw state was making a game out of this.
06:38They were, it was a very defensive game and they battled, but just could not finish it
06:44out because it looked and Gonzaga, they did have a, a double digit lead at one point 57 to
06:5146, seven 54 left to go in that game.
06:54But Kennesaw state capitalized on some fouls.
06:58They got late and Kennesaw state withdrew within seven with three Oh six to go.
07:03They were right there at 67 to 60.
07:06So again, it, they were right there.
07:09It was actually 69, 64, 1.2, but just couldn't quite get what they needed at the end to finish
07:15that game.
07:16Kennesaw state did have a brief lead led 14 to seven after the first nine minutes of the
07:22game.
07:22So you saw that and it was like, all right, I mean, Hey, Kennesaw state, they're rolling
07:27at a, uh, uh, 19, 18 or a Gonzaga took the lead with five 46 to go in the first
07:33half,
07:3319, 18.
07:34And from there, it was really back and forth.
07:36Gonzaga did go on a 10, 0 run to close the first half.
07:39So again, uh, good showing by Kennesaw state.
07:44You wish they could have, you know, obviously gotten the upset, but just for them to, huh,
07:49heck put up a better fight than Georgia did.
07:51I think that was a really good showing by Kennesaw state.
07:54So definitely something to build upon there for the owls.
07:57Yeah.
07:57And shout out to them for even reaching the tournament a couple of years ago.
08:00They were the bottom feeders of their conference, the sunbelt, a new team, but, and also they
08:06lost their leading score in January to the whole, the gambling probe, right?
08:11That's a good call.
08:11Yeah.
08:12And still won the tournament and made the, uh, March Madness.
08:15So shout out to Kennesaw state.
08:17I did not think I was going to be watching more of the owls than my Georgia bulldogs last
08:21night, but I did.
08:22There you go.
08:23Who to the owls.
08:24And look one, and to your point miles, after even through all the trials and tribulations
08:29that they went through this season, you still find a way to win 20 games.
08:32You win your, uh, conference for, uh, you win your conference tournament for the first
08:35time, uh, since being in this new conference.
08:39So look, uh, definitely a really, really good season for Kennesaw state.
08:43So they should feel proud.
08:44I can't say that much for the Georgia bulldogs, but Kennesaw state should be holding up their
08:48heads high this morning.
08:50So hopefully Kennesaw state can continue to build on that.
08:53And hopefully we see, get more tournament appearances out of them here in the near.
