00:00:08I'm going to be naked pretty soon.
00:00:10My audience is going to be stoked that I'm taking on this challenge.
00:00:17I'm out here on the boat heading to the island.
00:00:22I am stoked.
00:00:23I'm going to be posting to my social media, to my followers,
00:00:26the intimate journey that I'm about to have.
00:00:3014 days on an island.
00:00:31I'm really excited.
00:00:33Can't wait for you guys to see it.
00:00:35For the first time in Naked and Afraid history,
00:00:38five social media content creators bring their unique skills.
00:00:42Building a log cabin by hand.
00:00:45And passion for the outdoors.
00:00:47Ha, let's go!
00:00:49To a remote island in the Gulf of Thailand.
00:00:54Like we say in Jersey, go hard or go home.
00:00:57Oh!
00:01:00Four o'clock!
00:01:03Wow, that sun is cooking.
00:01:05I don't know why.
00:01:06It's got to be this rough right now.
00:01:10Jenna, you all right?
00:01:13We're struggling, but no one cares.
00:01:17Try harder.
00:01:20Where are you?
00:01:21Get the out of here.
00:01:34About to get naked.
00:01:37I guess there's a first for everything.
00:01:40Time to get rid of all my tan lines.
00:01:48Start making plans.
00:01:51Doing a challenge like this is definitely getting me out of my comfort zone, but I'm excited for it.
00:01:58I've never done anything like this, and I want to prove to myself that I can't.
00:02:05Vamos!
00:02:08I've never had to contend with the ocean.
00:02:10I'm a three-hiker, but I plan to bring, like, girl power out here.
00:02:15How am I supposed to grow if I don't face my fears?
00:02:21I'm here.
00:02:22I'm naked.
00:02:23Au revoir.
00:02:24See you on the other side.
00:02:26Leading up to this challenge, people have been messaging me saying they're really excited that I'm going to be out
00:02:31here naked.
00:02:32I mean, I guess in my life, I am pretty naked in nature a bit.
00:02:36Let's go!
00:02:37I'm a content creator and climbing influencer.
00:02:40Mine has something like 200,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok.
00:02:44I'm here to tell you that the Alpine Heelhawk is real.
00:02:48In 2020, I started making climbing videos, and they blew up.
00:02:53That kind of just steamrolled into a full-time career.
00:02:58Biggest hopes for this adventure, I want to prove that I can do hard things.
00:03:02I'm resourceful.
00:03:03I'm used to not having a lot.
00:03:05I'm used to being dirty.
00:03:06I'm used to eating weird things.
00:03:10There's an expectation that I do last these 14 days, so I want to live up to those expectations.
00:03:16And I do want to bring it home for my audience.
00:03:25I need to make some shoes.
00:03:28For sure.
00:03:34Checking out this insertion site, this is pretty surreal.
00:03:39The jungle's pretty dense.
00:03:42Mosquitoes in my ears.
00:03:44Ouch.
00:03:44And there's a ton of thorns, you guys.
00:03:47Like, legit.
00:03:48I'm feeling, like, a little overwhelmed, but also, this is what I signed up for.
00:03:59It is hot as hell.
00:04:01It is so humid.
00:04:02But, um, what I know is, looking at these clouds and looking around, is that there might be some rain.
00:04:09And we're not talking a little, I'm talking, like, a lot.
00:04:12The creators will have to survive on the tropical island of Kobubu in two teams, far off the western coast
00:04:19of southern Thailand, in the Straits of Malacca, exposed to the harsh ocean environment.
00:04:28In this region, tropical storms can wreak havoc without warning, bringing with them 40-mile-per-hour winds and gusts
00:04:36up to 70 miles per hour.
00:04:38Under the harsh equatorial sun, humidity levels can reach 85%, making dehydration and heat stroke the number one threat.
00:04:47I'm already feeling the bugs.
00:04:50I've got a few bites already.
00:04:52Mosquitoes carrying dengue fever thrive after the monsoon rains.
00:04:57And poisonous scorpions and deadly king cobras hide under the thick leaf litter.
00:05:06Keep getting deeper, the jungle's getting thicker out here.
00:05:10It's completely new to me.
00:05:12Kind of got to look around to see what kind of resources I might be able to build with.
00:05:18I'm a content creator.
00:05:19I use content creation as a way to just project what I'm doing.
00:05:23My current project posted on social media is build a log cabin built by hand tools with old school methods.
00:05:30I've always found the labor our forefathers done to be very inspiring.
00:05:34The hand tools they used, the techniques and methods they employed to get large projects done, that's always really inspired
00:05:42my content.
00:05:43I'm here to learn more about, you know, tropical building and whatnot, but I'm excited to take on the challenge.
00:06:07Hello.
00:06:09Hello.
00:06:11How are you?
00:06:12I'm good.
00:06:13How are you doing?
00:06:13Good.
00:06:14You hug her?
00:06:15You shake her?
00:06:15Yeah, hug.
00:06:17Oh, glad to finally see you.
00:06:18Yeah, nice to meet you.
00:06:20What's your name?
00:06:21Perry.
00:06:21Perry?
00:06:22I'm Dragon Sky.
00:06:23Dragon Sky?
00:06:24Yeah.
00:06:24Cool name.
00:06:25Thanks.
00:06:25I'm absolutely feral.
00:06:27I love being naked.
00:06:28I love running through the woods.
00:06:29I hike all over the world.
00:06:31I've hiked over around 5,000 miles.
00:06:34I've been through every element that you could possibly imagine.
00:06:41Hell yeah.
00:06:44As a black queer woman, I've been climbing mountains my whole life.
00:06:47And now I'm on Instagram making videos.
00:06:50And I just want to inspire everyone to just know that, like, reach deep inside yourself and you can do
00:06:56anything.
00:06:57I'm really excited for my dragonflies, aka my followers, to see me out here.
00:07:02That sounds great.
00:07:03How about you?
00:07:03What do you do?
00:07:04Um, I do social media, teaching people how to live off the land and homestead.
00:07:10Wow.
00:07:11Things that people have forgotten how to do.
00:07:13When I started doing instructional videos on how to do stuff, my social media really took off.
00:07:19Turned this into this.
00:07:21It's jerk.
00:07:22Over the past five years, I've gained millions of followers.
00:07:25I've been told quite often that I'm a really good teacher.
00:07:28I think that's why people are responding so well online.
00:07:32Did you know you can make your own delicious mayonnaise at home out of animal fat?
00:07:35Ever since I was a little kid, I was always intrigued by tropical islands.
00:07:40I've always had a fantasy of being stuck on one.
00:07:43And now I get to finally do that.
00:07:45We're going to kick ass.
00:07:46Yeah, we're going to kick ass.
00:07:47We're going to rock it.
00:07:48Mm-hmm.
00:07:49My partner, Perry, with his skills and his experience, I'm really looking forward to what we're going to do.
00:07:55So, hell yeah, let's kick some ass.
00:08:05Hey.
00:08:07How's it going?
00:08:08Good, how are you?
00:08:09Doing all right.
00:08:10I'm Jenna.
00:08:11Pearson.
00:08:12Nice to meet you.
00:08:12Nice to meet you as well.
00:08:14Where are you from?
00:08:15I'm from East Texas.
00:08:17Texas?
00:08:17Very rural East Texas.
00:08:18Yes, ma'am.
00:08:19Rural East?
00:08:19Yes, ma'am.
00:08:20All right.
00:08:21So, I spend a lot of time outdoors, messing around in the woods and whatnot.
00:08:24Okay.
00:08:24I do content creation part-time.
00:08:27What about you?
00:08:28Cool.
00:08:29I also do some content creation and I'm decently good at starting fires.
00:08:35That's good.
00:08:35Glad to hear that.
00:08:36I think we can get something going pretty good and we'll have a solid first night.
00:08:40Should we look around for our bags?
00:08:41Yes, definitely a good first idea.
00:08:47Oh, what the frick?
00:08:49What's up?
00:08:49There's another one of them.
00:08:51I'm Beau.
00:08:51Beau Pearson.
00:08:52Pearson, nice to meet you.
00:08:53I'm Jenna.
00:08:54Jenna, nice to meet you.
00:08:55Nice to meet you.
00:08:55How are we doing?
00:08:56We're good.
00:08:57Now that we're a green team.
00:08:59We're a whole squad.
00:09:00Yeah.
00:09:00What a squad.
00:09:01Do you like make content online as well?
00:09:04Yeah, yeah.
00:09:05What about?
00:09:06Climbing.
00:09:06So, you're like a risk taker?
00:09:07Yeah, up mountains and stuff.
00:09:09Cool.
00:09:09Yeah.
00:09:10It looks like we're three content creators, which means this may be the most insufferable episode
00:09:15of Naked and Afraid yet.
00:09:16But it'll be super cool to be able to create with other people who do the same thing.
00:09:21I'm visually seeing what's happening here.
00:09:22You're a rock climber.
00:09:24Yeah.
00:09:24You are a woods dude.
00:09:26A woods dude.
00:09:27A woods dude.
00:09:27Okay.
00:09:27Great wood.
00:09:28I am self-proclaimed mermaid.
00:09:30Mermaid.
00:09:31Yeah.
00:09:31Yes.
00:09:32I am a mermaid.
00:09:33Mermaid witch.
00:09:34This just got good.
00:09:36I make content mostly about witchy things and spirituality.
00:09:40I have over 70,000 followers.
00:09:43A witch is someone who knows her own power.
00:09:45That's really what it means to be a witch is to channel your magic into the world.
00:09:49If you want to wear a pointy hat, you can.
00:09:52Most of my comfortability and strength is in the ocean.
00:09:56I have 10 years of open water experience.
00:09:58So snorkel, free dive, scuba dive, spearfish.
00:10:01I also run a lifeguarding team.
00:10:04So yeah, you could say I'm a mermaid.
00:10:06Your one item better not be like seashells or something.
00:10:10Seashells?
00:10:10Yeah.
00:10:11Too late, buddy.
00:10:14So first step, the bags.
00:10:15Copy that.
00:10:17Each team has been given a pot and fire starter.
00:10:20That's a big pot.
00:10:21While each survivalist is allowed one personal item and their phone for creating content.
00:10:28What else do we have?
00:10:31Got our mask.
00:10:33Water's going to be something we need to find.
00:10:35I see this like fresh water source here and then having this shoreline for food.
00:10:40Sure.
00:10:41That water source is looking good with access to the ocean, maybe a reef.
00:10:45A lot of good stuff.
00:10:46It'd be great if there's a reef there.
00:10:47Oh, yeah.
00:10:47For protein.
00:10:48Yeah.
00:10:49All right, cool.
00:10:49Will, you want to get started?
00:10:51Hell yeah.
00:10:53Both teams will travel close to a mile through dense jungle to reach their survival areas.
00:10:58The island's northeastern shore for Bo, Jenna, and Pearson.
00:11:03And the windier northwestern side for Dragon Sky and Perry.
00:11:08Neither team is aware of the other's existence.
00:11:17Is this the weirdest thing you guys have ever done or not really?
00:11:20Yep.
00:11:22Po?
00:11:24Probably.
00:11:26I don't think I was expecting to have two partners.
00:11:29I think when you have people that make content, we are used to being the main character.
00:11:34And out here, when you have teammates, you're on a team.
00:11:38And so we'll see how personalities mesh.
00:11:48This looks promising, guys.
00:11:51It does.
00:11:51Looks like we made some coastline.
00:11:54This is pretty.
00:11:55There is bamboo here, so that's nice.
00:11:57Yeah, better if we don't even need to cut down stuff for shelter.
00:12:01Yeah.
00:12:02I imagine we don't want to make our shelter on the beach.
00:12:05Yeah.
00:12:05Get washed away.
00:12:07Somewhere just tucked away where we still get like a little bit of a breeze.
00:12:12Found our water.
00:12:14This is what our water source looks like.
00:12:16Yay!
00:12:17Rock on!
00:12:18That's going to be so big for us.
00:12:21Yeah.
00:12:22Are we all in agreement?
00:12:23Do not poop or pee near the water source.
00:12:25Yeah.
00:12:26I'd be fine building right here.
00:12:27You want to build in there?
00:12:29Yeah.
00:12:29This is very well covered.
00:12:31Look at that.
00:12:31Not a lot of rain would get through here.
00:12:33I'd be stoked on this.
00:12:35I was always super stoked about building near a coastline.
00:12:38Now I finally get to do it.
00:12:39But I think we only have so much time left before the sun actually sets.
00:12:44So we need to get some building as soon as possible before we're stuck out here in the treacherous jungle.
00:12:50Potentially make an A-frame.
00:12:53I think it's a...
00:12:53Oh!
00:12:54Oh, look at that.
00:12:56That's one side of our A-frame.
00:12:58Yeah.
00:13:00Our structure is an A-frame with an elevated platform to sleep on.
00:13:05We had bamboo slots going horizontal with vines woven in and out.
00:13:11If we're off the ground, then our heat's not going to be being sucked out of our body from, like,
00:13:15the cold ground.
00:13:16If you guys are cool with working on shelter, I'm going to go collect fire stuff.
00:13:21Love it.
00:13:21Cool.
00:13:23Collaborating with others makes better content, but also collaborating with others is going to help our survival chances.
00:13:29Seems like we have some unique skills and we'll balance each other out.
00:13:34I just want to say, I'm super stoked about this group.
00:13:38I like our odds.
00:13:39Oh, we're going to be out here all 14 days.
00:13:43You bet your bottom dollar.
00:13:53Looks like I found some water.
00:13:54This must be the...
00:13:55Oh, snap.
00:13:56...well that was on the map.
00:13:57I like the sound of that.
00:13:59Oh, yeah.
00:13:59It'll definitely need to be boiled.
00:14:01We'll have to come back to this and check it out.
00:14:03Okay.
00:14:06I can hear the waves.
00:14:08Yes.
00:14:09I don't think we're that...
00:14:09That's a good sound.
00:14:14We could build maybe in between these two and that one.
00:14:21Make a triangle here.
00:14:22Form a triangle.
00:14:23My question with this is, these holes.
00:14:26Snakes or rats or something that's making these holes?
00:14:31There's always that chance.
00:14:32I would venture to say that that is probably crab, but I don't know 100%.
00:14:37We will build off the ground regardless.
00:14:39Yeah, we're going to build.
00:14:40Yeah.
00:14:40Yeah, I'm good with this.
00:14:42I could definitely look for some material if you like.
00:14:45Any bamboo that's washed up, we could work as a team to get it knocked out quick.
00:14:56Ouch.
00:14:59Some bamboo.
00:15:04Vines like these, they'll make really good cordage to wrap around the tree and tie.
00:15:10This one's, I don't know what type of vine it is, but it's a lot like our grape vines that
00:15:15I have at home.
00:15:16Perry is building an elevated platform supported by bamboo posts and bracing the frame together
00:15:22so they can lay bamboo and palm fronds across the top.
00:15:28I've built this fort in my head so many times that I've worked out all the bugs that I think
00:15:32could possibly happen.
00:15:34But with millions of people watching me back home, I think we're going to see how prepared
00:15:38I actually am.
00:15:45I think I'm going to start on the fire.
00:15:47You want to.
00:15:48Yeah.
00:15:49Fire time.
00:15:49Fire time.
00:15:50Fire time.
00:15:51First impressions are, she seems really nice.
00:15:55Dragon Sky is very eager to learn.
00:15:58This could be a pretty good partnership.
00:16:01Hopefully everything continues to go smooth.
00:16:10Whee.
00:16:15Huh.
00:16:16Oh.
00:16:17This is hard work.
00:16:20With thru hiking.
00:16:21It's easy to start things with a slider.
00:16:24I'm so used to things just boom.
00:16:27Yeah, these are really wet.
00:16:29It's waterlogged.
00:16:31Ugh.
00:16:36a little bit of magnesium off a pinch of magic
00:16:42in general you want to boil everything in a survival situation it's possible that the rain
00:16:48hits leaves that have bacteria on them before it drops into your spring water it puts us at risk
00:16:55for having stomach issues which would just be not a good vibe fire queen good job what a beautiful sight
00:17:06thank you now we can boil some water I'm stoked it's working well I feel very much like a witch
00:17:15with my hanging suspended cauldron you have a cauldron yes
00:17:28the shelter is not quite finished realistically it's not going to get finished
00:17:33oh it is so windy oh my gosh I don't know why it's got to be this rough right now
00:17:40I'm just
00:17:41going to keep going at it oh this is just day one we're figuring it all out we'll get a
00:17:46good flow
00:17:47down soon I'm just like what the hell man I wanted something of a shelter and it's not looking promising
00:17:53right now we are doing so well we've got water hanging boiling and then check out our sweet bed
00:18:34oh no actually that made it more comfortable
00:18:55well night one is off to a rough start but where you're sleeping is like vertical
00:19:03and the night is so long
00:19:20oh dude well you heard the walking around right yeah there it is
00:19:34oh yeah there it is no animal beelines it downhill like that
00:19:47oh yeah there it is and that's dinner at night it could be one of those monitor lizards is that
00:19:54you oh my god it's a mouse and it's up here
00:20:14good morning it's now the morning of day two
00:20:17let's actually get real about last night it sounded what was appeared to be elephants thrashing through the camp and
00:20:24it wasn't it was rats
00:20:25rats they're really annoying squealing all kinds of noise all night totally freaked me out
00:20:32they should be trapped and eaten because apparently they're nice and chunky and that means they've been eating well so
00:20:38we can eat well too by eating them so they're gonna die
00:20:45now we're just gonna do this game again because we're gonna need water first so the plan is to get
00:20:52the fire going and get the shelter up
00:21:07so i cut down this tree it's oozing white sap there's actually a tree here it's really dangerous if you
00:21:13get the sap in your eye you can go blind so probably a great idea not to mess with this
00:21:19one
00:21:21now i'm gonna get the sap now i gotta go wash the sap off my hands something we want to
00:21:25stay away from
00:21:26we'll be able to see when i get back home
00:21:34on day one we built a shelter on night one we broke a shelter
00:21:43it being night one it's not a big deal that we didn't get a lot of sleep but definitely we're
00:21:48gonna want to get sleep tonight for sure
00:21:50yeah we need to keep ourselves warm tonight yeah it's a big priority the fan palms we put on tonight
00:21:57or today should hopefully block some wind and keep us a little more warm
00:22:00despite the tough night the team's morale is very good we all agree that our top priority of this structure
00:22:06real thing of that for like little cuts yeah though i like the vision
00:22:11the new structure will be reinforced with additional bamboo supports along the back front and sides
00:22:18the vine platform will be reinforced and a roof will be added
00:22:24we're gonna make it a lot better we have a full day to actually work on it so
00:22:29do you guys need any more bamboo there's another piece down here
00:22:32i think we're set for now
00:22:34okay i just want to make sure this shelter is structurally stable
00:22:39make sure there's no chance of it breaking at night time
00:22:42i've never really worked with bamboo at all until now and it's been pretty tricky but
00:22:47slowly actually coming to something which i'm happy
00:22:53pearson's been handling the structure building he's got ideas on how it should be set up
00:22:57i think that's what he does in the real world too so he's got experience there and i'm happy to
00:23:03learn from him
00:23:04let's go dude i think it's gonna work out great
00:23:17now it's windy clouds are starting to come in
00:23:22it's dicey spicy and i think it's not gonna be nice
00:23:26the island that was actually directly across has faded into the gray
00:23:31absolutely infinite doom
00:23:44it's raining
00:23:47denna you feel that
00:23:49sure do
00:23:52just trying to protect the fire a little bit
00:23:55let me protect our coals
00:24:03did it get anything
00:24:04yeah i got a little bit
00:24:05okay
00:24:07drink some
00:24:08i think the possibilities of a fire right now are just none
00:24:11no dry wood at all
00:24:13we'll get a roof on there soon
00:24:15it'll be alright we'll get through it
00:24:17just one day at a time
00:24:18one day at a time
00:24:34i feel like uh shriveled up raisin
00:24:37i second that i'm over here shivering like a chihuahua so
00:24:40the rain's starting to let up a little bit
00:24:42time for a roof
00:24:48i'm making shingles
00:24:50the leaves of these uh fishtail palms are really nice and waterproof
00:24:55i think if i lay across a thin piece of bamboo and then fold them in half
00:25:01that i can make a set of shingles that'll run all the way across and then i'll just stack those
00:25:07up as i go
00:25:08it'll help shed water off
00:25:11can't wait for everybody to see
00:25:13pretty exciting reading all of the comments and suggestions and what people would have done different
00:25:18my favorite part is reading all that
00:25:23i'm here trying to make a fire and guess what everything is soaking wet
00:25:27um it's been super frustrating but i'm like not giving up
00:25:32and i got rain water so that's a positive
00:25:36dragon sky is trying really hard and she's really tough
00:25:39she doesn't have a quit button either and that kind of effort is somebody i'd rather be around all day
00:25:46long
00:25:47oh
00:26:01look at you go
00:26:03that is good to see
00:26:06how's it doing
00:26:07it is very wet but i think we just got really lucky
00:26:10we gotta keep it going though
00:26:13we got fire going
00:26:15and we're gonna have a roof over her head tonight
00:26:18kind of scary
00:26:21oh
00:26:24oh
00:26:25okay
00:26:26okay
00:26:27feels pretty damn comfortable
00:26:28guys
00:26:29sweet
00:26:30we are so good
00:26:31okay
00:26:32we are so bad
00:26:33ha let's go
00:26:42built a house
00:26:44nice
00:26:45it's pretty cool
00:26:46just a little something to hang out in
00:26:50it's pretty comfy
00:26:52it's the end of day two here
00:26:53no fire but
00:26:55we've got water
00:26:57we got a hell of a shelter
00:26:59my partner's really cool
00:27:01yeah
00:27:02kicking ass and taking names
00:27:03all right
00:27:20please don't
00:27:21just don't
00:27:22i do not do thunder and lightning very well
00:27:25it just freaks me out
00:27:29i'll get through it
00:27:40it's raining raining
00:27:41we've all huddled together to share body heat
00:27:44he was having a little bit of shivering which burns calories which we don't want
00:27:50oh
00:27:51oh that's some pretty lightning
00:27:52wait one
00:27:53two
00:28:07it's the morning of day three
00:28:09while naked and afraid
00:28:10last night was another doozy
00:28:13we had
00:28:13a
00:28:14crazy storm
00:28:16but we made it
00:28:17we made it
00:28:20sure as hell isn't gonna break us
00:28:22anything it
00:28:23energized us
00:28:25strengthened our resolve
00:28:27gave us power
00:28:29reinforced our beliefs
00:28:30allowed us to make nicknames
00:28:33brought us closer together
00:28:35literally
00:28:35and figuratively
00:28:37that's true
00:28:44i'm hungry
00:28:45yeah i'm definitely freaking hungry
00:28:48i can see right down there
00:28:49a bunch of oysters
00:28:50i'm gonna get some
00:28:53stay tuned
00:28:54they're a little different than
00:28:55the farm ones we buy
00:28:57but they taste good
00:28:59they taste just fine
00:29:03so what's on your mind right now
00:29:05what's on my mind right now
00:29:07now i'm hungry
00:29:08and
00:29:09i hope it doesn't rain again
00:29:11please don't
00:29:12cause i really don't do storms
00:29:15thanks for keeping me like calm and chill
00:29:18yeah
00:29:18i know from being in the woods like lightning can just strike anywhere and so
00:29:22but i knew we weren't the tallest object but you know i still was a little nervous
00:29:27and i was like
00:29:27last night i think what really helped was having parry
00:29:30my eyes would just get wide and i'd just look at this guy like it's happening
00:29:34so um for him to be there was very grounding
00:29:38you got anything that you want to work on or think it needs to be done
00:29:41i want to keep eating oysters just get some more strength up
00:29:45yeah do that
00:29:45realizing also like how that affects my mood so i'm just like trying to continuously eat as we go
00:29:52and i want to dry this out
00:29:53the goal every day is to just keep trying to get it as dry as possible
00:29:57our plan is to not waste any more of the fire rod
00:30:03only make that fire if the materials are 100 dry
00:30:06let's dry the rest of this out this is going to take a while so
00:30:10my plan to dry out my materials is the hiker yard city aka
00:30:14spread your as far as possible
00:30:17come on son
00:30:22i think it would be good to take advantage of the fire while we have it to cook stuff
00:30:27maybe fish with the net
00:30:30cool i want to dive in the ocean
00:30:35taking the hawaiian sling out for the first day
00:30:38goddess feed
00:30:41the ocean is not something to be trifled with especially out here when we're in the middle of it
00:30:48the waters of kobubu are teeming with deadly box jellyfish whose venom can cause cardiac arrest
00:30:55highly aggressive bull sharks sometimes prowl the shallows and stingrays hide under the sand ready to inflict their excruciating stings
00:31:06yes i have 10 years of open water experience yes i run a lifeguarding team
00:31:11that does not make me immune from the ocean
00:31:29it's hard to drag it down and like scoop them up
00:31:32okay they mainly swam into it
00:31:34okay
00:31:35okay i see some getting trapped
00:31:36keep going like this
00:31:38yeah keep going like this
00:31:40all right let's lift up a little bit
00:31:44let's go
00:31:45looks good
00:31:46not bad
00:31:47we're able to have a lot of luck with these small minnow kind of fish
00:31:51huge morale boost and uh i was very very happy to have all that
00:31:58you can see how the tide's coming up
00:32:03there's only so many hours of sunlight and then this comes up the tide comes up and screws it all
00:32:08up
00:32:09honestly i don't think everything's going to be dry today i just don't think that's possible
00:32:14if we can't give fire we still need water so i'll be making a water filtration system
00:32:22let's see if water flows through it
00:32:29now i got a packet full of gravel sand and charcoal
00:32:35so for the stone layer i'm using the petrified coral
00:32:38it's going to soak up any of the small sedimental layers that i have coming through
00:32:45sand layer is going to help collect any extra sediment and then charcoal charcoal is really absorbent
00:32:53so any microorganisms will get hung up in that before it seeps through all of the rest of the layers
00:33:00all right so now we'll test it out
00:33:05all right it is full
00:33:07it's pretty awesome i don't build much i don't know much about building
00:33:11i'm learning and i'm growing so i'm just really glad that i have a supportive partner
00:33:16it's already going in there's a few sips in there
00:33:18my first time drinking water that hasn't been boiled
00:33:24what's it taste like
00:33:25i've drank worse water grateful because i can't do it i don't know how to build that
00:33:40okay i didn't get catch any fish we got some
00:33:44sweet
00:33:44if we can keep catching and cooking these then we should be able to keep eating as long as we
00:33:49can keep a fire going
00:33:51all right i'm gonna say these are done
00:33:56then uh
00:33:59so i've been eating them like this
00:34:01just hold the head bite the tail
00:34:03yeah
00:34:04so
00:34:05what's the thing about the guts that you might have been concerned about before
00:34:09just about every animal you gut them
00:34:11i'm not like
00:34:13super worried about anything in these old guys
00:34:15they're too tiny to really
00:34:16have much um
00:34:18in there
00:34:19what
00:34:19i don't know
00:34:20fish poop
00:34:22i swear
00:34:23tonight minnows
00:34:25tomorrow night
00:34:26big fish
00:34:27i hope so
00:34:29there are
00:34:30bigger fish to fry
00:34:52so
00:35:08you
00:35:25it's okay it's okay it's okay it's okay it's okay it's okay giant rat jumped on my leg
00:35:31and then jumped from me to her this is a dream and then i just i don't know i kicked
00:35:37the roof
00:35:37i felt bad i did everything not to do
00:35:41oh he was so heavy that's a freaking cat yeah kill it
00:36:04last night i was dead asleep
00:36:07and uh a rat ran across my butt i'm making a deadfall trap hopefully catch this rat
00:36:17and eat it i'm hoping tonight gives us a chance to catch something
00:36:28how's it going good good i think i've got all the wood it needs time to dry i'm hoping to
00:36:34get the
00:36:34fire going today so at least we can have rat to eat i feel like a lot of it is
00:36:39going to dry out today
00:36:45wow that sun is cooking i'm getting a little red so i want to stare to the sun okay and
00:36:52maybe later
00:36:53i will go back out with a fishing net i think the name of the game today is going to
00:36:57be
00:36:57don't move too fast yeah i completely agree all right i'm gonna give a house tour do you mind if
00:37:04i'm loud nope cool when i create i love working with other people but i always feel this burden
00:37:11that i'm like i'm asking a favor like hey can you create this video with me i don't want to
00:37:16get in
00:37:16their way if they're doing something that's more important so far we've been able to weave the
00:37:22surviving and the creating together everyone to your ones good afternoon mainlanders we've got
00:37:30pearson we've got jaybirds it's beau and i'm going to give you a tour of our what are we going
00:37:38to call
00:37:38this five star beachfront property three bed master bedroom walls are tastefully decorated a few steps
00:37:46from the bedroom you have your own private secluded beach you're so secluded you could even go skinny
00:37:53dipping all right a little bow behind the scenes let me the juxtaposition of beau doing this and you
00:37:58sitting there is very funny i feel like i'm in a dystopian society i think it's hard to say when
00:38:06is the
00:38:06time to make content or not make content you could frame it as a distraction um but i don't think
00:38:12it's
00:38:12a distraction we haven't eaten anything today um taking like five sips of water the sun is freaking
00:38:19brutal coming down there's a lot of seafood to catch i think it's more of storytelling and just
00:38:24making sure that we're documenting these silly things so that others in our community can experience
00:38:30it as well all of you sitting at home i hope your fist deep in a carton of ice cream
00:38:35because that
00:38:36just took a lot of effort to film and now i have to edit it how many calories do you
00:38:41think i just
00:38:42burn doing that at least one at least one i'm gonna be over here editing okay have fun my partners
00:38:53are creating content i don't really mind i'm glad they're getting content as a team we're all on the
00:38:59same page but we need more food it's beau and i'm gonna give you a tour of our five star
00:39:04beachfront property
00:39:15it's been frustrating it's not a lighter so you're not getting that instant flame that you might want
00:39:21but i dried out some of this material today so i'm hoping it's gonna light up
00:39:27i'll tell you all right
00:39:29ready to press

00:39:58Yeah, I'm from Jersey.
00:40:00We go hard, we go home, and I never gave up, bro.
00:40:03Y'all, I just started this fire.
00:40:06This is a wind.
00:40:07I've been drying this tinder out in the sun
00:40:11for two days now, and I am happy.
00:40:14I just want people to know that they can do this
00:40:16and I'm ready to pump my fist.
00:40:19Yeah, okay, I'm done.
00:40:33I can hear them under a squeaking.
00:40:39Yeah.
00:40:41It sounds like a good weapon under a squeaking.
00:40:53It sounds like a good weapon under a squeaking.
00:41:01Oh, we got one.
00:41:03We did?
00:41:03Yeah.
00:41:04Shut up.
00:41:05Yeah.
00:41:06We got rat.
00:41:07Bro.
00:41:09That worked, which is cool.
00:41:11So we got breakfast.
00:41:12Teamwork is amazing.
00:41:13Yeah.
00:41:23We're going to do a lot of hunting today.
00:41:27I want to eat every single edible sea creature
00:41:30within a 100-foot radius of our island.
00:41:37It's still hot out, but we're really hungry,
00:41:40so our focus is 100% on food.
00:41:45Look at that.
00:41:46Oh, oh, another one.
00:41:47Oh, sweet.
00:41:48Nine happy clams.
00:41:50Caught two clams, too.
00:41:52Ha, let's go!
00:41:54You think those are ready?
00:41:56I think they might be.
00:41:59Yeah, they're open.
00:42:04So good.
00:42:05Dude.
00:42:05Why does that taste so good?
00:42:08Because we caught it.
00:42:09We're in the grocery store now, and we've got money.
00:42:12It feels good to actually chomp down on sustenance,
00:42:17on protein.
00:42:19There we go.
00:42:21Meat.
00:42:22What is it?
00:42:24I don't know.
00:42:25It's from the crustacean era.
00:42:27We're going to eat that, like, tongue-looking thing.
00:42:32Good stuff.
00:42:39We have meat, so I am stoked.
00:42:43It is a miracle.
00:42:44We're going to eat meat today.
00:42:47I'll teach you to jump on me.
00:42:49You stinking rat.
00:42:50You hungry?
00:42:51Yeah.
00:42:52Rat on a stick.
00:42:53Oh, hell yeah.
00:42:54I'm excited to eat a rat.
00:42:56I've never eaten a rat before.
00:42:58It's going to be good protein.
00:43:00I'll do the taste test.
00:43:05I think it tastes good.
00:43:06It's really gamey.
00:43:07Like venison?
00:43:09Mmm.
00:43:11Like rat.
00:43:13See what you think.
00:43:16Wow.
00:43:18You like it?
00:43:19Tastes like chicken.
00:43:23Rat.
00:43:24You know?
00:43:26Four or five days without protein is a long time.
00:43:29You can feel it kicking in already.
00:43:31Kind of like a sponge just waiting for water.
00:43:36I've never had rat before, but that protein is really going to help us out.
00:43:39My plan now is to keep using that same trap in the same location.
00:43:44If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
00:43:46I want to eat rats for the rest of my life.
00:44:05Yeah.
00:44:06We got some.
00:44:08We got a meal.
00:44:10Fish pick.
00:44:13Your move, ladies.
00:44:16Oh, it's so stupid.
00:44:18We got a sea urchin!
00:44:20Let's go!
00:44:22Woo!
00:44:24That's frickin' sweet!
00:44:26We are eating good today.
00:44:28Let's go!
00:44:29That thing looked gnarly.
00:44:30There's no sea urchins in East Texas.
00:44:32I've never tasted sea urchins, so this is going to be a first.
00:44:36I actually really need some water.
00:44:38It's hot.
00:44:42I'm sweating my ass off.
00:44:44Giving his life so that we may eat.
00:44:47Y'all, how on earth do we eat this?
00:44:51Raw.
00:44:52Pearson, grab a slice.
00:44:54Take a little bite.
00:44:55All right.
00:44:55Cheers.
00:44:56Tiny, tiny nibble.
00:45:04What does it taste like?
00:45:07Oh, wait.
00:45:08It tastes like sushi.
00:45:09Wait.
00:45:09On the second half, it tastes like sushi.
00:45:13Pretty good.
00:45:14It's like soft.
00:45:15It was so buttery.
00:45:18Like, it was insane.
00:45:20I would love to have that over some sticky rice with a little bit of ponzu and lemon.
00:45:25Oh, my God.
00:45:27Jenna speared it.
00:45:29Now we're harvesting it.
00:45:30Raw sea urchin.
00:45:33Salty, creamy.
00:45:35Wow.
00:45:44It's a leftover rat.
00:45:45I'm turning into a broth.
00:45:47I use the head, eyes, brain, heart, liver, kidneys, all the bones.
00:45:53That's going to give us some extra nutrients while we're trying to survive out here instead
00:45:57of wasting and throwing it away.
00:46:00One of the things that I do at home, I save the scraps of everything that I eat.
00:46:06Biggest video I ever had, I got close to 30 million views.
00:46:10I made chicken and vegetable broth from scraps that I had laying around the kitchen.
00:46:15And I cooked it over a couple hours.
00:46:19In the next episode, we'll use this same pressure canner to can all these jars of stock.
00:46:23This is the same premise with this rat.
00:46:27I'm not wasting anything.
00:46:28Let's try some of that rat broth.
00:46:30Okay.
00:46:34It tastes like chicken noodle soup.
00:46:37That's good.
00:46:38I was like, oh yeah, we're talking about chicken noodle soup type .
00:46:42It tasted like good.
00:46:43I kind of wanted to keep drinking it.
00:46:44However, looking at the hearts and the organs in there, I mean, yeah, nah, it's not about
00:46:52me.
00:46:52I'm not about that life, bro.
00:46:55You feeling any better after getting some food in your belly?
00:46:58Yes.
00:46:58Hell yeah.
00:47:00Yeah.
00:47:01I feel great.
00:47:09Feels like we're actually starting to stabilize now.
00:47:12We can finally enjoy paradise out here.
00:47:19Feel a little bit off.
00:47:27Jenny, you all right?
00:47:45Jenny?
00:47:46You all right?
00:47:48Jenny?
00:47:49You all right?
00:47:58I think I'm just going to sit for a little bit.
00:48:00Okay.
00:48:01Need some water?
00:48:02Yeah.
00:48:03Pearson's on it.
00:48:06Anything else we can do to support you right now?
00:48:09Um, I think I really just need to sit for a little bit.
00:48:12All right.
00:48:12I have been in the hot sun and the sea all day.
00:48:16Like I might just be wiped.
00:48:25Glad you're all right.
00:48:26Thanks.
00:48:28Pretty sure that I was experiencing heat exhaustion.
00:48:31Once I got in the shade and drank water, I felt significantly better.
00:48:36Coconut container drinker.
00:48:40Sea witch.
00:48:42Definitely more clouds today.
00:48:44Hope a storm isn't coming.
00:48:57It's raining.
00:49:00It's wet.
00:49:00It's cold.
00:49:11It's cold.
00:49:12Holy .
00:49:13Fire.
00:49:15Damn.
00:49:16Come on.
00:49:18Whoa.
00:49:23Four o'clock.
00:49:27Crap.
00:49:53It's raining again, second rainstorm of the night, harder this time.
00:50:22It rained a lot last night, it didn't stop.
00:50:25My hands are runes, they're ridiculous.
00:50:29My feet are worse.
00:50:31Everything is obviously soaked.
00:50:34The sun feels so good, y'all.
00:50:37I've been freezing for so long.
00:50:39I feel the sleepiest I've been and the coldest that I've been.
00:50:44The fire went out last night.
00:50:46I'm gonna dry some more tinder off.
00:50:51I'm just gonna get as much as I can.
00:50:53Hanging out, different tinder to dry.
00:50:55I like to have a variety, just because each thing burns differently.
00:50:59Some burns faster, some burns slower.
00:51:01It's more of like air drying and then I'll let the sun bake it.
00:51:05All right, just let that do its thing.
00:51:11Feels very nice to be out here after being in that cold rain.
00:51:16Damn, it feels good.
00:51:18Feels like I'm finally living again.
00:51:20That was pretty brutal.
00:51:22Oh, I dreamt of this moment of sunshine.
00:51:26That was the roughest night so far.
00:51:28We got inches of rain last night, so fire is done.
00:51:32But we're all committed to finishing this challenge.
00:51:36But it's like we might come out scraping and bleeding.
00:51:42So no fire on top of that.
00:51:44It smells bad in here.
00:51:46Smells funky.
00:51:47We should replace the bedding.
00:51:50Jenna had checked the bedding earlier today and apparently it had a lot of bugs and
00:51:54was like rotting.
00:51:55So about time we change it.
00:51:56What do you, you gotta wash your sheets every now and then, I guess.
00:52:00Just need vines, the biggest thing.
00:52:02Is that it?
00:52:02What about trying to make a fire?
00:52:04Yeah, the main priority is getting that fire started again.
00:52:08Yeah.
00:52:08For water boiling.
00:52:10Hell yeah.
00:52:11I'm gonna go work on fire stuff.
00:52:13I'll help you with bedding.
00:52:15Let's go.
00:52:20So right now I'm collecting vines.
00:52:23Just looking all over for the best, most flexible vines we can get.
00:52:26Because I want to be layering the bed, weaving again even more.
00:52:30So I'm probably gonna collect like six or eight vines and go back there and start putting them on.
00:52:36It's gonna be a muddy task.
00:52:37Because it's so filthy under here.
00:52:40It's where the rats live.
00:52:41You're not gonna make my way under here.
00:52:45You want good sleep quality, so working through the pain.
00:52:51I might as well collect whatever I can for firewood.
00:52:56This is soaked, unusable.
00:52:59Fire means dry stuff.
00:53:01And I'm looking around here.
00:53:03Everything is either literally submerged or is significantly damp from the rain.
00:53:10I'm trying to be picky, like even this, uh-uh.
00:53:15It's like back to day one.
00:53:29I'm trying to make my way under here.
00:53:31Damn.
00:53:31Okay.
00:53:32Keep trying.
00:53:33But would it be possible for you to grab one more vine for me?
00:53:38All right.
00:53:40Here's one for you.
00:53:46Uh-oh.
00:53:47Huh?
00:53:48One of these vines is a blinding vine.
00:53:50Are you sure?
00:53:51Yeah.
00:53:51How can you tell?
00:53:53It's white and it's sticky.
00:53:54If you have white and sticky, you guys need to wash your hands immediately.
00:53:58And don't touch your eyes.
00:54:00Oh, that's not good.
00:54:02Is the medic coming?
00:54:04We're getting the medic now.
00:54:05So that would mean one of these trees over here is a blinding tree.
00:54:09Yeah, one of them is.
00:54:10If I get the sap in my eyes, I might get med tapped.
00:54:13I'll be out of here because I'll be going blind.
00:54:16I'm pretty worried.
00:54:17That's like the scariest thing out here.
00:54:30Oh, that's not good.
00:54:31If I get the sap in my eyes, I'll be out of here because I'll be going blind.
00:54:36What I noticed was my hands were sticky at first.
00:54:39And then I looked at the vine, inspected it, cracked it a little bit,
00:54:43and I noticed a white sap coming out of it.
00:54:46Is that it?
00:54:46What?
00:54:47Yeah, the sap is somewhere around.
00:54:49Okay.
00:54:50But the blinding tree, I think that should be fine.
00:54:52Upon examination, the medic determines the sap did not come from a blinding tree.
00:54:58But he sterilizes Pearson's hands and flushes his eyes with saline solution out of an abundance of caution.
00:55:06Good?
00:55:07It's good.
00:55:08Okay.
00:55:09Sweet.
00:55:10Yeah.
00:55:12How are you?
00:55:13Good.
00:55:13I think everything all right with you?
00:55:14Yeah.
00:55:15A little bit scary.
00:55:16Yeah.
00:55:17Do you want to sit?
00:55:18I've gotten so many flames going and just burns out in the tinder.
00:55:23You know what I mean?
00:55:24Yeah.
00:55:34I feel the hunger.
00:55:35What do you think about us fishing?
00:55:38I say hell yeah.
00:55:39Because even without fire, we can eat that fish.
00:55:41So hopefully get something to eat.
00:55:43With the lack of food, it's just like yeah.
00:55:46But there's other means, so we're not out of options.
00:55:50The thing about fish is you can eat it raw.
00:55:52If it's straight out of the ocean, it's like sashimi or sushi.
00:55:58I think I'm going to walk out pretty far.
00:56:01Tide's coming in right now.
00:56:04So it's getting a little bit deep.
00:56:07It's cold when it touches the balls.
00:56:11This is really deep water.
00:56:14I don't like open water.
00:56:15I had an incident as a child where I almost drowned.
00:56:19And it's just really traumatic for me.
00:56:22I don't know how he does it.
00:56:24My biggest fear is going out there past my neck and having to swim.
00:56:31And then like getting pulled out to the ocean.
00:56:33And that's not a situation like I want to put myself in.
00:56:38A bunch of bites.
00:56:40Haven't had anything that actually held on to the snail.
00:56:47I'm scared.
00:56:49Of what?
00:56:50Deep water.
00:56:51Dragon Sky, she doesn't do well with open water.
00:56:54Being out here on this island does have the potential to be an issue.
00:56:58I don't know if I could do this right now.
00:57:01I want to be brave, but I have limits.
00:57:15Today is day seven.
00:57:17It's hot today.
00:57:19And Jenna's out in the heat working on a fire.
00:57:22This is the second day without a fire.
00:57:24We've had some trouble with wet wood and just the humidity here.
00:57:29This place is, uh, this place can be brutal.
00:57:35Not being able to get this fire going has been a huge dip in morale.
00:57:39A huge dip.
00:57:42Pearson looks like he's hanging on by a thread.
00:57:47I'm a little bit worried about Pearson as far as kind of slowing down quite a bit.
00:57:52Even though it rained, we are running low on drinking water.
00:57:56I'm starting to get a little stressed.
00:58:04Messed up my finger trying to start fires.
00:58:10It shouldn't be taking this many magnesium strikes.
00:58:14I'm going to give it a shot.
00:58:19There you go.
00:58:20Add sticks.
00:58:20Add sticks.
00:58:23A little blow.
00:58:27That happened to me seven times.
00:58:30The, uh, black fluid's definitely taking a hit on me.
00:58:34It's like a machine needs oil.
00:58:36When you're running low on it, you're not going to be running good at all.
00:58:40And you might tear yourself up.
00:58:45No.
00:58:47We're working on the fire and we're struggling.
00:58:53But no one cares.
00:58:55Try harder.
00:58:56A little toxic positivity for us to keep us moving, huh?
00:59:12There you go.
00:59:13Crazy.
00:59:14It's so cold.
00:59:17Not really getting any sleep.
00:59:19The storm rolled in, but it's just cold air blowing.
00:59:28It was a beautiful night, and then it just went to .
00:59:31I have never not slept for like three days.
00:59:36And it's just exhausting shivering every night.
00:59:39You need a certain amount of calories to function.
00:59:40And then when you're shivering, your body's just like burning reserves.
00:59:48Looking at the possibilities of staying on the other side of the island.
00:59:52That's less windy.
00:59:54Yeah.
00:59:55I literally want to just scream right now.
00:59:57I'm finished on the screen.
01:00:15I'm finished on the screen.
01:00:17Day eight.
01:00:18I'm going to give fire a try.
01:00:20Let's see what we can do.
01:00:27Grab the coconut husk.
01:00:29It's been drying for now two days or so.
01:00:33I set it up.
01:00:34I pack in some fibers.
01:00:35And in less than a minute, it's going.
01:00:41Smells like fire, Bo.
01:00:43He's cooking.
01:00:45Yeah, he's got it.
01:00:54Huge plume of smoke.
01:00:56I'm so happy.
01:00:58Okay, here's stuff.
01:00:59It's going to burn like well, and I'll go bring you more stuff.
01:01:06I'm glad that Bo got the fire started,
01:01:08because that means we can actually boil some water and get really hydrated.
01:01:12And we're going to actually cook some calories up, so we can do a lot more.
01:01:19Let's go, dude.
01:01:21Good stuff.
01:01:28Did you test the pot?
01:01:29It's hot.
01:01:30It is hot, but it tastes good.
01:01:34Oh, that's really hot.
01:01:36Tea temperature.
01:01:38What kind of tea are you drinking?
01:01:41It's, like, really hot.
01:01:43We boiled water, and we're all getting hydrated, so we're feeling good about that.
01:01:52Joy overwhelms my body as I drink water again.
01:01:56We're going to be extra careful about the fire from now on.
01:01:59Yes, we are.
01:02:08I'm going to be going on a little walk.
01:02:09It's time to see what else is around the corner.
01:02:13On our west side of the island, the sun, it sets there, but it doesn't rise, so it stays colder.
01:02:19And the wind's a lot worse.
01:02:21You can't even get a fire going because it's so windy.
01:02:23I'd love to move to the east side and try and get some of the good attributes of that side
01:02:30of the island.
01:02:30And just the prospect of doing that and the change of scenery, I think is going to be really good
01:02:35for morale.
01:02:37Do you want to come?
01:02:38Do you want to sleep?
01:02:39I know you need your rest.
01:02:40I want to take one later, but I definitely want to see the rest.
01:02:43Okay.
01:02:50These rocks are really treacherous.
01:02:52They're like razor blades.
01:02:55So luckily, I made some shoes out of materials I scavenged that washed up on the beach.
01:03:04Hopefully, I can get over to the other side of the island without cutting my feet.
01:03:14I found a new beach.
01:03:16The tide's a little high, so I need to figure out a way down there without getting cut up by
01:03:22the rocks.
01:03:29If there's a coconut tree, that would be sweet.
01:03:32Those husks have been really good for our fire.
01:03:38See some naked people.
01:03:41Who is that?
01:03:43Wait, what?
01:03:43That does not look like Jenna.
01:03:45Wh-what?
01:03:46Who are you?
01:03:54See some naked people.
01:03:57Who is that?
01:03:59Dude, who are you?
01:04:01I'm Bo.
01:04:02Bo?
01:04:03Perry.
01:04:04Pearson.
01:04:04Pearson?
01:04:05Nice to meet you.
01:04:05Nice to meet you.
01:04:06Are you a local here?
01:04:07You just live deep in the forest?
01:04:09No.
01:04:09No.
01:04:10I'm shocked.
01:04:11A lot for words.
01:04:12Yeah.
01:04:13I did not expect to see another naked person that wasn't Pearson or Jenna.
01:04:18It's like, what are the odds of that?
01:04:19We were just looking for some coconuts and some bamboo.
01:04:22We've come across another naked dude.
01:04:24Frigging sausage island here.
01:04:26Sausage island.
01:04:27We have a third teammate.
01:04:28How many are you with?
01:04:29I have one teammate over there.
01:04:32She didn't get any sleep.
01:04:33She's resting now.
01:04:34Okay.
01:04:35So what do you guys do?
01:04:36I do content creation.
01:04:37I do content creation.
01:04:39Jenna also.
01:04:39We're all content creators.
01:04:41I am too.
01:04:42I follow you actually.
01:04:43Really?
01:04:43That's awesome.
01:04:44Yeah.
01:04:44Creator island.
01:04:45I like it.
01:04:46Yeah.
01:04:47That's pretty cool, guys.
01:04:48Perry, he turned out to be following me, following along the log cabin project,
01:04:52which I thought was really neat.
01:04:54And he watched my videos and that just blew my mind.
01:04:56I thought that was the coolest thing.
01:04:57It made my day today, honestly.
01:04:59Yeah.
01:04:59I'm excited to trade secrets.
01:05:01Yeah.
01:05:01Yeah.
01:05:01Me too.
01:05:02What kind of structure did y'all make?
01:05:03Because we made an A-frame.
01:05:04I did like a shed roof.
01:05:06You guys are welcome to come check it out.
01:05:07We'd love to.
01:05:08Yeah.
01:05:08Sure.
01:05:09Lead on.
01:05:12So I just ran into some naked people on the island.
01:05:14It's a big surprise.
01:05:15This should be interesting.
01:05:17Maybe we can swap stories and help the rest of this time here on Naked and Afraid
01:05:23pass by a little easier.
01:05:26Dragon Sky, we have company.
01:05:29Hi.
01:05:30Hi.
01:05:31I'm Bo.
01:05:32I'm Dragon Sky.
01:05:34I'm Kirsten.
01:05:34It's nice to meet you.
01:05:35Nice to meet you.
01:05:36It was a rough night last night.
01:05:38Interrupting your sleep.
01:05:38I'm just tired, sleep deprived.
01:05:42Immediately, I'm thinking, wow, new people.
01:05:45I'm like, yeah.
01:05:45I'm really excited to learn about them and see if we can combine our forces.
01:05:50This is going to be an exciting six days.
01:05:53You want to come see our place?
01:05:55Yeah, I'd love to.
01:06:03My first impression of Bo and Pearson, they're all smiling.
01:06:06They're ready to hang out, to impart knowledge on me and to learn from me.
01:06:11I think we're going to get along great.
01:06:13God damn it.
01:06:14I knew they'd find something cool.
01:06:17We've multiplied.
01:06:20Jenna.
01:06:21Yeah.
01:06:23We've got visitors.
01:06:24Hello.
01:06:25Nice to meet you, Jenna.
01:06:26Nice to meet you, too.
01:06:27I'm Perry.
01:06:27I'm Jenna.
01:06:28I'm Dragon Sky.
01:06:29Hi.
01:06:30Nice spot.
01:06:30I like your glasses.
01:06:31They're both creators as well.
01:06:33Mm-hmm.
01:06:33Whoa, cool.
01:06:34So, like, overall, how are you guys faring?
01:06:36Like, how's it going?
01:06:37Yeah, I like it.
01:06:39I'm having a blast.
01:06:39Yeah, I'm having a good time.
01:06:40What are you guys eating?
01:06:41Rats.
01:06:42Yeah, we eat rats.
01:06:43There's been rats everywhere.
01:06:45You ate rats?
01:06:46Yeah.
01:06:46Tell them what you caught.
01:06:48Oh, I caught a sea urchin.
01:06:49Yeah.
01:06:49That's cool.
01:06:50That's super cool.
01:06:51You want a tour of our fort?
01:06:53Yeah.
01:06:54It's nice to see another woman.
01:06:56Yeah, me too.
01:06:56I was like, I would like to see another woman.
01:06:58I need to be around women.
01:06:59And I like your tattoos.
01:07:01Like, what are they?
01:07:02Um, I have a...
01:07:04So, this one, actually, probably the most relevant,
01:07:07I got because I do energy work.
01:07:09Mm-hmm.
01:07:09Reiki.
01:07:09And my friend's a witch, so she's like...
01:07:11I'm a witch.
01:07:12No way.
01:07:12Yeah.
01:07:13I'm an empath, so I'm just like,
01:07:14I sense energy and stuff.
01:07:15Yeah, this is great.
01:07:16This is lovely, because people just look at me like I'm crazy.
01:07:19Fat s*** crazy?
01:07:20Yeah, they're like, yeah, you're just making it up.
01:07:22I'm like, no.
01:07:23When the two tribes meet, there is kinetic energy all over the place.
01:07:28And it's this uptake in energy, like the flame of a fire coming up.
01:07:33And it's exciting to me.
01:07:35It's a hell of a fire you got there, man.
01:07:37It looks good.
01:07:38It's really windy on that side of the island.
01:07:40We were pretty cold.
01:07:41How would you feel about building a shelter over here?
01:07:44I'm thinking that we just move.
01:07:45Just move over.
01:07:46I had an idea.
01:07:48How about underneath of your shelter?
01:07:50Good work.
01:07:50It's a little bit muddy under there.
01:07:52Maybe I'll lay down some leaves or something.
01:07:53A little bit of bedding.
01:07:54Yeah.
01:07:55This is badass.
01:07:57Welcome to the party.
01:07:58Oh, hell yeah.
01:08:00We got this.
01:08:01We got this.
01:08:02Sweet.
01:08:03Cool.
01:08:04That was exciting stuff.
01:08:05Sleepover.
01:08:12We got a clam boil.
01:08:15Look at this.
01:08:16Clams coming off the fire.
01:08:18All you can eat clams.
01:08:20Dig in, guys.
01:08:21What do you think of that?
01:08:22They taste so good.
01:08:23Mmm.
01:08:25What are we eating?
01:08:26Lots of clams.
01:08:27Full moon dinner.
01:08:32Clams are great.
01:08:33And we have a fire.
01:08:34One to ten, guys.
01:08:35What's the morale?
01:08:36One to ten.
01:08:37Ten.
01:08:38Yeah.
01:08:38Yeah, I think it's definitely a 9.5.
01:08:41We got a...
01:08:42I'm at an eight.
01:08:42We got an average of 9.25.
01:08:46Too busy eating clams.
01:08:49Clam baked.
01:08:50Full moon.
01:08:52Whoa.
01:08:53Thank you, moon.
01:09:09Keep the fire going.
01:09:11Let's keep this party rolling.
01:09:13I am the fire queen.
01:09:16Yeah, baby.
01:09:17Yeah.
01:09:17Yeah!
01:09:19So here on the beach, I've noticed there's a big log.
01:09:25It's a big one.
01:09:26It's heavy, too.
01:09:27On the map, I saw a red X as our extraction spot, and it's out there in the ocean.
01:09:33I believe that this thing is going to make an excellent pontoon for a raft for our extraction day on
01:09:40day 14.
01:09:41I'm hoping this thing floats.
01:09:43Well, let's give it the old push.
01:09:45Push-a-roo and see what happens.
01:09:47Okay.
01:09:47Three, two, one.
01:09:48Three, two, one.
01:09:49Oh, get it!
01:09:49This is rough.
01:09:51There you go.
01:09:53Nice.
01:09:54Nice.
01:09:55It is nice.
01:09:56Is it supporting you fully?
01:09:58Yes.
01:09:58It's supporting me fully, too.
01:10:00What you got there?
01:10:01It's like we got part of a raft.
01:10:03Heck yeah.
01:10:04Let's go, dude.
01:10:06Dang.
01:10:07This is great, this log.
01:10:10So what I'm thinking is big pontoon here, and then maybe a couple structurally set up pieces of bamboo.
01:10:20To battle the ocean tides and reach their extraction point, the survivalists will construct a raft with a large, buoyant
01:10:28log as the base,
01:10:30lashed with vines to an outrigger frame of sturdy green bamboo for added stability and support.
01:10:37I love this idea.
01:10:38Mm-hmm.
01:10:38Go team.
01:10:39All right.
01:10:40Good talk.
01:10:41I'm excited about this.
01:10:48I know we have like a bit to get done today.
01:10:50We're going to need a lot of lashings and probably a lot of help with that.
01:10:54Yeah, I'm down with that.
01:10:56That's like probably one of the most important parts so that it doesn't disassemble while we're out there getting pushed
01:11:01around by waves and paddling and pushing on it.
01:11:04The plan today is to work on our raft.
01:11:06We have quite a bit of materials that we've gathered over the past few days.
01:11:10We've got a really large log.
01:11:12Basically, we're going to build the outriggers out of bamboo and lash these bamboo pieces together.
01:11:26There you go.
01:11:35The log will come down there right in the center.
01:12:07Yeah.
01:12:15I'd like to run a test with the rigging to see how much buoyancy we have just holding on to
01:12:22this.
01:12:22Kind of float it out a little bit.
01:12:23Sit on our backs and kind of paddle a little bit.
01:12:26Without the log.
01:12:27Without the log, yeah.
01:12:28Just the outriggers.
01:12:29The plan is for Jenna, Pearson, Perry, and I to hang on the outrigger frame to test the buoyancy.
01:12:37Ultimately, when this is all roped together, Dragon Sky will be on the center log while us four kick.
01:12:44Me being afraid of really deep water is not fun.
01:12:47I'm so anxious right now.
01:12:49There's a possibility that I'll just panic.
01:12:51Okay.
01:12:51It's scary, and it's even in my voice.
01:12:54I'm just a little shaky about it.
01:12:55Yeah.
01:12:56I see it all the time as a lifeguard instructor.
01:12:59For this demo, could Dragon Sky just go in between you and I?
01:13:02Yeah.
01:13:02On this?
01:13:03All right.
01:13:03You don't want your first experience of touching this raft in the ocean to be extraction.
01:13:09Yeah.
01:13:09We'll find a way to get into meditation mode.
01:13:12Okay.
01:13:12That's what I do out there.
01:13:14I am very scared.
01:13:15I'm afraid of open water like this.
01:13:17So, for me, it is important to get out there and test it out and see how I'll react.
01:13:22Three, two, one, lift.
01:13:25All right.
01:13:25Oh, man.
01:13:26Go ahead and set it down slowly.
01:13:30When we get a little bit deeper, we'll go ahead and switch to our back and float.
01:13:34All right.
01:13:36It's terrifying.
01:13:37All right.
01:13:38Go ahead and everybody get on their backs.
01:13:41One arm.
01:13:42You can stay just like that, Dragonfly.
01:13:47Feet up.
01:13:48Yep.
01:13:49Okay.
01:13:49I'm completely buoyant.
01:13:51Me too.
01:13:52My feet are not kicking you.
01:13:53Nope.
01:13:54Slowly paddle.
01:13:57I think this is working.
01:13:59We got buoyancy right here.
01:14:01And this is only going to be more buoyant with the log.
01:14:05With the log, yeah.
01:14:07Dragon Sky, you'd be paddling as fast as you can.
01:14:11The test of the Outrigger float is a success, but seeing Dragon Sky's reaction becomes my biggest
01:14:18concern.
01:14:19No matter what, even if everything floats, if Dragon Sky isn't able to get on the raft or isn't able
01:14:24to
01:14:26maintain some level of calmness out there, then that could spell disaster for us.
01:14:32All right.
01:14:33You want to come float with me?
01:14:34All right.
01:14:35Give me your legs.
01:14:37I got you.
01:14:39As a lifeguard, as a swim instructor, I know what it looks like when someone is verging into
01:14:44panic zone.
01:14:45And as we go out and we're getting a little bit deeper, I see that look of frazzled, big,
01:14:52dull, glass eyes in Dragon Sky. I see her setting into that panic moment.
01:14:59Right? I got you.
01:15:10I want to talk about something sort of serious. I've noticed a lot of you joking about how much
01:15:15they're going to blur or to be nice to production so that they extend the blur a bit lower for
01:15:20me.
01:15:21And I want to cut those conversations off now. It's not what I'm here for. And it's honestly the
01:15:27last thing on my mind. I have no sway in it regardless. Production handles that entirely.
01:15:32So I really have no idea actually how far they would blur even. And it's not important. It's not
01:15:40important. It's not why I'm here. And so I would really love if we could change the conversation to
01:15:45what I'm doing here and surviving and everything around that. All right? I'd appreciate that. Thank you.
01:15:57All right. All right. Over me.
01:16:02This is an intense moment. I realized that she's in a very vulnerable position.
01:16:06I did my best like calm voice and meditative breath. You're doing really good.
01:16:14Yes. It's so good. Let's go get warm.
01:16:19Good job, you two. I felt like I was going to die. That's how panic attacks feel. But I feel
01:16:25really reassured by Jenna. And she was just keeping me centered. She's like,
01:16:29good job on breathing. Lots of reassurance. It was a powerful moment.
01:16:35Being afraid of deep water is like one of the most common, huge anxieties for people. It's really
01:16:41big deal what you just did out there. I mean, I'm happy I got through it. I appreciate you a
01:16:47lot.
01:16:47We're going to get there together. Thanks. I'm definitely terrified. But I'm like,
01:16:53you know what? Trauma doesn't define me. Trauma is not going to control me and fear won't. I'm just
01:16:57going to go and knuckle it up. Hoping to chat about the extraction with everyone. Let's do it.
01:17:08We are here. So we should be heading that way. The survivalists must navigate their raft five
01:17:16miles east across the open ocean, facing unpredictable weather and treacherous waves
01:17:23to reach their extraction point. Jenna, as most knowledgeable about the ocean,
01:17:28what should we be aware of? I think there's three main things. One is we need to be really
01:17:34careful to keep this straight out as we go out. We don't want that rolling over anyone. Second thing
01:17:39is the jellies. Okay. I don't know how much we can prevent that. Sharks, are they a concern? If you
01:17:45see a
01:17:46shark, stop kicking your feet. Don't look like prey. If you look like prey, it will be more interested in
01:17:52the
01:17:53way a shark is interested is with its mouth. So we don't want an interested shark. Today is going
01:17:59to be the doozy. We've got this big, heavy raft that we have to lash together, hope it holds together,
01:18:04and then get it out somewhere in the middle of the sea. That's a big day for us. It's going
01:18:07to take
01:18:08a lot of energy. We're ready. We're getting out of here. We are leaving this place.
01:18:14I feel like a pallbearer.
01:18:19Pretty cool, you guys. Like a glove.
01:18:21Like a glove. Whoa.
01:18:23All right, let's get the lashes.
01:18:27This is the raft that has been built over the past few days.
01:18:32Everyone's working together as a team to get this thing out.
01:18:35Looking dope. Jenna, how are you feeling?
01:18:37I feel great.
01:18:40Pearson, how are you feeling?
01:18:41I'm fantastic. I'm ready to go out to sea.
01:18:44Yeah.
01:18:45Harry, how are you feeling?
01:18:46I'm ready to get the hell out of here.
01:18:48I mean, yeah.
01:18:49You know what?
01:18:50We'll see how it goes.
01:18:51We are.
01:18:52All right, let's do this.
01:18:54Now, it's just a matter of getting out to that extraction point.
01:18:58What we don't know is how the tides will shift, what animals are under us, or if the weather will
01:19:03change. And we've seen that it can change in a heartbeat. Lacking nourishment and dehydration,
01:19:07but mentally, we're here and ready to do it.
01:19:10We've got some good momentum going. Keep your pace going. Don't burn out too quickly.
01:19:17Goodbye island.
01:19:18Yeah.
01:19:19How are you doing, Dragon Sky?
01:19:21I'm okay. Just need to stay focused.
01:19:24I'm feeling a little nervous about this thing. I'm just really focusing on paddle, paddle, paddle.
01:19:31Don't look out. Breathe. Paddle. Breathe. Paddle.
01:19:34I'm okay. I'm all right. I'm going to be okay.
01:19:38How's the lashings holding up on everybody's section?
01:19:41It was right.
01:19:42All right.
01:19:43Does anyone feel like we're kind of pushing against the current?
01:19:47Yeah.
01:19:48Maybe we've got to give it a little more.
01:19:50All right, a little more.
01:19:51Kick it up a notch.
01:19:51All right.
01:19:53The current changes, and now it's against us. It's like you are fighting a treadmill,
01:19:59and it'll tire people out a little quicker.
01:20:13I got another jellyfish too.
01:20:16Yeah?
01:20:17Yeah.
01:20:18Right on the back of my calf.
01:20:23You got to be almost there.
01:20:26Almost.
01:20:31All right.
01:20:32Do you want to get on in a row?
01:20:34Try it.
01:20:37Every island now seems equidistant, so everything seems pretty far away. There's no boat in sight.
01:20:44There's no piers, and we are just specks in the ocean.
01:20:50Guys, guys, guys, guys, guys, guys, guys.
01:20:53That's the boat.
01:20:54Yeah!
01:21:00We're getting out of here.
01:21:02Yeah!
01:21:03Oh, my God.
01:21:05Yeah!
01:21:06This is the greatest sight I've ever seen.
01:21:08I know.
01:21:10Oh, yes.
01:21:13Just you. Just you.
01:21:15Dragon's guy.
01:21:15Up here.
01:21:19Dragon's guy.
01:21:20You did it!
01:21:21Oh, my God.
01:21:23To paddle in the ocean.
01:21:25I'm afraid of open water.
01:21:27To finish the 14 days, I did something that I've never done before, and I got through it,
01:21:33so I'm stronger because of it, but this goes out to black women everywhere.
01:21:38You guys can do anything.
01:21:43I'm proud of all of us.
01:21:45We did great throughout these two weeks, and we pulled through and got together.
01:21:49This experience really changed me.
01:21:51Being outdoors, I'm mostly alone, so working with all these people was like a new situation.
01:21:56It opened my eyes, ideas-wise, resource-wise, and just one hell of a memory I'll never forget.
01:22:03We did it!
01:22:05Let's go!
01:22:09Being out here on this challenge, I've proved to myself again that I can do hard things,
01:22:15that I can set my mind to something, stay disciplined, and get it done.
01:22:19Oh, God.
01:22:20I had no doubt.
01:22:22Oh, I could kiss all of you.
01:22:25I achieved a lot out here.
01:22:27All of the studying and preparation that I did,
01:22:30I was able to bring to fruition with little to nothing.
01:22:33It's a really good feeling.
01:22:35I'm really excited to see my followers check out what I've been up to.
01:22:39Woo!
01:22:41Woo!
01:22:42Yeah!
01:22:43Woo!
01:22:44Woo!
01:22:45Woo!
01:22:46Woo!
01:22:46Woo!
01:22:46Woo!
01:22:48Woo!
01:22:48Woo!
01:22:48Woo!
01:22:49Woo!
01:23:03Woo!
01:23:11Over the course of the 14 day challenge,
01:23:15limited protein caused each survivalist to lose weight and muscle mass.
01:23:20But they showed the necessary skill, teamwork, and determination to raise their individual PSRs
01:23:27and prove to their followers they have what it takes to survive, naked, and afraid.
01:23:34Let's go, let's go!
01:23:37We did it!
