00:00Latest burst of criticism directed at his allies, the key developments from today.
00:05I suppose that's one opinion that doesn't change America's allies, saying the U.S. has been very critical of NATO
00:11for some time now, and sharply critical of them in the last two or three days.
00:17Israel says it's killed one of its most powerful figures during that meeting in the Oval Office with the Irish
00:21Prime Minister.
00:23He just can't understand why, he says, these allies are calling him up to congratulate him on taking on the
00:30Iranian regime and tackling Iran's nuclear capabilities, but at the same time, he says, they're just not prepared to help
00:37him.
00:38He said NATO in particular was making a very foolish mistake, and he said he was not surprised in a
00:45way.
00:45He said the U.S. is always there to help NATO, and that this had been a test of NATO,
00:50he said, and they failed us, and that they are not there to help the U.S. in particular, he's
00:55looking for help to try and reopen the Strait of War.
00:58On day 18 of the war, President Trump is doing this in advance.
01:03He's trying to cobble together a coalition after the fact.
01:07You can say what you will about how the Bush administration handled the Iraq War, but they went to Congress
01:13and got an authorization for military force.
01:16They went to the allies, put together a coalition of the willing, and then they went in.
01:21As did Bush one, as you will remember, in Desert Storm, there was a U.N.-backed international coalition.
01:29Listen, Donald Trump hasn't made the case to the American people.
01:33We haven't so much as had an address to the American people about what he is doing in Iran.
01:39It's been all over the place.
01:40So it's hard to imagine that he has given a coherent explanation or pitch to the allies that, as you
01:47point out, he has been crapping on for over a year.
01:50President defended Trump's decision to go to war.
01:54I think that I know what you're trying to do, Phil.
01:57You're trying to drive a wedge between.
01:59We need to rebuild this trust.
02:01If confirmed to lead the department, how will you be different from Secretary Noem?
02:09Senator, I think I've said this in a private conversation, too.
02:13I love Senator Noem's family, and I consider him friends.
02:18But everybody has different leadership styles.
02:20And throughout my businesses, when I would have to transfer one manager to the next or one executive to another
02:27area,
02:27and I'd bring in a different one, they all have different management styles.
02:30My management style is empowering people.
02:33And as I said in my opening statement, I want to protect the homeland.
02:36I want to bring peace of mind, and I want to bring confidence back to the agency.
02:40I'm not going to be the smartest guy in any room I walk into.
02:43But I know how to get talent, and I know how to bring those people together.
02:46Let me interrupt you again.
02:47I'm sorry, sir, because our time is limited.
02:50But let's be really clear.
02:51What Secretary Noem did was give the green light to lawless behavior.
02:55Are you going to give the green light to lawless behavior?
02:58I will operate within the parameters.
03:00Is on fire.
03:01Yemen's Hathi forces have unleashed a brutal wave of missile and drone attacks targeting U.S. warships and Israel escalating
03:10the crisis into a full-fledged warlike situation.
03:15In a chilling new escalation, air raid sirens blared across Tel Aviv and Jerusalem overnight as Israel scrambled its air
03:24defenses.
03:26The Israeli military intercepted a missile launched from Yemen before it could reach Israeli airspace.
03:35Explosions rocked the night sky over Jerusalem, likely the sound of Israeli interceptor missiles destroying the incoming threat.
03:43There were no immediate claims from the Houthis, but the attack follows their earliest strike on Israel's Ben Gurion airport,
03:51using a Palestine 2.
03:54Imagine being able to build anything just by could follow.
03:59In support time, anyway, we want to keep it that way.
04:03As we continue Operation Epic Fury, we're also focused on keeping energy and oil flowing to the world.
04:11And I will not allow a terrorist regime to hold the world hostage and attempt to stop the globe's oil
04:17supply.
04:17And if Iran does anything to do that, they'll get hit at a much, much harder level.
04:22I will take out those targets that were easy and that I mentioned just before.
04:27We'll take them out so quickly.
04:29They'll never be able to recover, ever.
04:31If they want to play that game, they better not play that game.
04:35In the long run, oil supplies will be dramatically more secure without the threat of Iranian ships, drones, missiles, nuclear
04:42menace, or anything.
04:45So the Strait of Hormuz is going to remain safe.
04:51We have a lot of Navy ships there.
04:52We have the best equipment in the world inspecting for mines.
04:58Again, most of their ships are down at the bottom of the sea.
