00:00It will be so great that they will have wished they never did it because you have to keep the
00:06straits flowing. With all of that, it affects other countries much more than it does the United
00:12States. It doesn't really affect us. We have so much oil. We have tremendous oil and gas,
00:17much more than we need. We have Venezuela now as our new partner, great partner. They've worked
00:23out so wonderful. We're working with the administration, the president, and it's a massive
00:30source of oil, gas, everything. But we're in a very good position, but very unfair to other parts of
00:41the world, like China as an example. I mean, we're doing this for the other parts of the world,
00:45including countries like China. They get a lot of their oil through the straits. So we're doing
00:52this. We have a very good relationship with President Xi and China. I'm going there in
00:56a short period of time. Memories. It's like a movie. We can revisit all those times.
01:01Just by. Could follow. In support and defense of the oppressed Palestinian people,
01:07and in response to the massacres committed by the criminal Zionist enemy against our brothers in the
01:13Gaza Strip, the missile force of the Yemeni armed forces carried out a special military operation
01:19targeting Ben-Gurion airport in the occupied city of Jaffa with a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic
01:26missile. By the grace of Allah, this operation successfully achieved its objective.
01:32But the Israelis aren't the only target. The Houthis have now set their sights on the US Navy's most
01:39powerful warships. A massive barrage of ballistic and cruise missiles backed by waves of suicide drones
01:49tore toward the USS Harry Truman aircraft carrier and its escort fleet in the Red Sea.
01:57Explosions lit up the dark water.
01:59Parameters and the policies and the laws that you guys set for me.
02:02And the Constitution of the United States.
02:04Of course, the Constitution of the United States.
02:06The Fourth Amendment, among other things.
02:07Of course, the Constitution of the United States. I'll swear to uphold that when I get sworn in.
02:10But to be very clear, I don't get to choose the laws that I enforce. You guys pass the laws.
02:18I enforce those laws.
02:19Right. But shooting a protester who was exercising his First Amendment speech and carrying a lawfully licensed gun is not
02:29a lawful behavior.
02:30Now, let's move on to another issue. Granite staters pushed back hard against ICE's plan to build a detention center
02:39in Merrimack, New Hampshire.
02:41And despite poor communication from the department, eventually, Secretary Noem canceled the plans for this facility.
02:48Senator, will you ensure that the Merrimack plan remains off the table or will you consider restarting it?
02:54Ma'am, I haven't seen the facts behind it. As I said, stated when we spoke in your office.
03:002015, and I agreed with them, is that Iran should not have a nuclear weapon.
03:03We have taken this military action under the president's leadership.
03:06I think all of us, whether you're a Democrat or Republican, should pray for success and pray for the safety
03:11of our troops.
03:12That's the approach that I've taken. Make it as successful as possible.
03:16Given your skepticism of foreign adventurism, you were a critic of the global war on terror previously.
03:21Well, I think one big difference, Phil, is that we have a smart president, whereas in the past we've had
03:25dumb presidents.
03:26And I trust President Trump to get the job done, to do a good job for the American people, and
03:30to make sure that the mistakes of the past aren't repeated.
03:34During his time in the Senate, Vance, a Marine veteran, was skeptical about military engagement overseas.
03:40Here he is, right before the 2024 election.
03:45Our interest, I think, very much is in not going to war with Iran, right?
03:50It would be a huge distraction of resources. It would be massively expensive to our country.
03:57One critic of the war in Iran.
04:00And a separate development earlier from the U.S., a senior counterterrorism official resigned, citing opposition to the war in
04:08Iran.
04:09Does that speak, do you think, Katrina, to a broader discontent in America?
04:17Well, Mariam, the polling here over the last few weeks would show that, by and large, Americans do not support
04:23this war effort in Iran, as the president called it a tiny excursion today.
04:28Polling shows that's not how the American public view it.
04:31They view it as a major drain on resources.
04:34The latest costings from the administration are that it's costing about a billion dollars a day.
04:39And they also see in the cost to the lives of the U.S. military at a time when the
04:44president, many would see, should be focusing on other issues like the major cost of living crisis that's underway in
04:52this country.
04:53Joseph Kent, he's director of the National Counterterrorism Center, he announced his resignation on social media this morning, saying that
05:00he couldn't agree.
