00:00Surja Ramlachan, who was kidnapped on March 14th and a ransom demanded for his release,
00:06was picked up on Wednesday night by police officers.
00:08Police in a media release said Ramlachan's retrieval was the result of coordinated investigative efforts
00:14and a targeted operation spearheaded by DCP Natasha George, ACP Richard Smith,
00:20and Senior Superintendent Anderson Pariman.
00:23Police say based on developing intelligence,
00:26officers focused their efforts in the vicinity of Roop Singh Road, Karapichaima,
00:30where the victim was believed to have been seen.
00:33Subsequently, officers of the anti-kidnapping unit arrived on the scene with a recovered victim.
00:38Mr Ramlachan, who was released between 10.30pm and 11.30pm yesterday,
00:43later guided officers to the location from where he made his way to relatives along Roop Singh Road,
00:48who alerted the authorities.
00:50The victim was later taken for medical attention.
