00:10Coming to the Nintendo 3DS on July 15
00:12My name is Yuri Araujo and I'm joined today by Tim Tehuri
00:17Hey Yuri, how's it goin?
00:18All right
00:20Today we wanted to show you some of the new features and one of the
00:22new monsters in Monster Hunter Generations
00:24The Electrifying Astalos of the Fated 4
00:27and what better way to do that than showing you the full hunt
00:31hey maybe after this hunt
00:32there will only be the fated three
00:34oh yeah let's do it
00:35so yeah we're going to be fighting him here at the
00:38verdant hills and a quick
00:40line up of the roster here
00:42we have Meryl with the guild style
00:44light bowgun
00:46you Tim what do you got there?
00:48that's me coming in there with the hammer and the aerial
00:50style because I just want to constantly
00:53be dunking on Acelos from the air
00:55that is a pretty good approach
00:56for this guy he's got a lot of pretty grounded
00:58attacks but he can also fly
01:00so keep him in check there
01:02I've got the adept style
01:04sword and shield
01:12and
01:12we have Rose with the striker
01:14style greatsword
01:18oh man look at that
01:19you see you just got to break his back with the hammer
01:22jump on there and show him who's boss
01:25that's right
01:26in this game once a person is mounted
01:28everybody else can actually chip in and
01:30help with the
01:31that blue meter right there
01:33if you keep attacking it'll actually help the person who's mounted it
01:36yeah thanks for the assist
01:39no problem
01:39I think Meryl did a lot of the work there
01:44you gotta go straight for the head with the hammer every single time
01:47yeah you're looking to build that KO damage
01:56now of course Acelos is angry
01:58I'm using here one of the new things in the sorting shield
02:01you saw me there wipe
02:02the blade with
02:04which is now the affinity oil
02:05it's gonna have a slight red glow
02:08and my chances for critical hits increase
02:11yeah let's see how you do
02:16there you go you see the white sparkles
02:18very nice
02:21Rose coming in for the charge
02:23wow that was a nice swing
02:26speaking of charges
02:28the Acelos with its electricity will charge up its wings head or tail
02:33and making it way more deadly than it should be so if you target those areas
02:38it'll knock him back and reset some of his damage potential there
02:49I see you just did that too
02:50yeah trying to just clobber it in the head as much as possible
02:53uh god those huge wingspan swipes are
02:57they can almost clear the entire zone
03:00they certainly feel like it
03:02and they get way more deadly now that they're charged
03:04and boom the adept dodge right there saving me in the last second
03:08nice
03:13great pillars of lightning
03:15they are so hard to predict the pattern sometimes
03:18because like they split into two every time
03:20and it can be quite painful
03:30ooh Meryl trying to line up the perfect shot
03:32and gets punished for it
03:36she should have just gone for it
03:39oh there we go we get some revenge here starting with uh rose uh unleashing the uh ground slash hunter
03:45arc
03:45look at you get in there
03:46oh man yeah that was the uh shoryugeki where i do a huge uppercut
03:51does a lot of impact damage too so uh it helps out with uh all your hammer strikes there
03:57i'm just gonna jump around all over the place and not really do anything
04:01oh you see here uh what Meryl just did a couple of uh paralysis shots and now line up her
04:06uh hunter arcs right here
04:08ooh rose got caught in the line of fire a little bit but it's okay
04:12shot still made it through
04:13let's see if i can help
04:16oh nice
04:18assos is getting real upset
04:21oh he is
04:24now you just shoot that lightning straight out of his tail
04:26he did
04:27yeah that tail is uh pretty deadly especially when it's charged up like that
04:31uh not only will it shoot these lightning beams
04:34they do clear the entire almost the entire area it feels like
04:37but if he's flying he can also pinch you with them and uh paralyze you for a second
04:42ooh
04:49oh time to set up a trap see if he takes the bait
04:55oh right into it
04:57time for those big hits
05:00well earned
05:01it's party time it's like a pinata everybody's gotta get in there
05:04it's a good way to put it
05:15yeah he's been waiting to strike back
05:18gotta heal up after that big hit man
05:21nice to having a range attacker to get some parting shots there
05:24as assos flies away
05:29yeah let's cut ahead a little bit
05:31he does fly around a little bit so we gotta catch up with him here
05:34not a very warm welcome i'd say
05:39no we got him cornered here
05:41uh backs against the cliff
05:48got some collateral damage getting caught up in there
05:51poor aptanoth
05:57mero again with the uh crag shots
05:59these uh stick to the enemy for a second and then they explode
06:03which is uh yeah it's quite powerful
06:11oh here we go charging up i think it's looking good
06:14will it connect
06:16there it is
06:18oh take it
06:19you're going again for those aerial strikes
06:21very good very good
06:33another adept dodge
06:36one more
06:37oh
06:39can't win them all
06:40yeah it's almost like he predicted that
06:46we got another trap going on here
06:48uh oh
06:49oh that was close
06:51let's see if it works
06:53well if it doesn't we just gotta lure him back on the other side
06:56everyone forms up
06:57we did good damage last time
06:59yeah
07:02oh hole in one
07:03wow
07:11again here everybody goes in for the hit
07:15if you hit too much though your weapon will lose some of this power and this is uh indicated
07:19uh by its sharpness
07:21it's because you attack so fast
07:24yeah fast striking weapons do tend to lose sharpness more often but
07:28uh you can always regain that with the whetstone
07:30so now astolos drooling and limping
07:33uh i think i might know where where he's headed
07:38yeah that's uh that's not looking good for him there
07:41skip ahead a little more and we see him in his nest
07:45uh he's sleeping now in an attempt to regain some health
07:48but uh his alarm clock's about to go off
07:56oof okay that'll do it
07:59and there you have it the monster is down and hunters reap the spoils
08:03nice
08:04now everyone can go back to town and create rad new astolos equipment
