00:09In 2012, during a Thanksgiving dinner
00:11my younger brother and I
00:13who were both gamers and worked in the industry
00:15came up with the concept for seven days
00:17We pulled inspiration from a lot of places
00:20zombie movies and shows
00:21fans of the Fallout game series or fans of
00:24Minecraft. We thought a game
00:25that encapsulated all those elements in one
00:27would be a great game to make.
00:32The game is set in a fictitious
00:34county called Naviscane, Arizona
00:36after a third world war
00:37and a zombie plague is hit. You're looting,
00:40you're building, you're scavenging
00:42the world for things to aid in
00:44your defense and
00:45every seven days a blood moon rises
00:55We had a lot of fan requests, will this game
00:58come on console?
00:59Started as a PC title
01:00and Telltale and the Fun Pimps want to move it to console
01:02and that's kind of our specialty
01:04right? Getting games working on console is a lot of what we do
01:07and working with the Fun Pimps
01:08and trying to figure out like, okay, how do we make this feature
01:10that you guys just did that's awesome on the PC
01:12how do we make that like work on the console
01:14in a way that makes sense for those players?
01:16The co-op nature of the game and
01:18the lack of meaningful survival games
01:20on console makes this a great fit
01:22Split screen in a game like this doesn't make a lot of sense on a PC
01:25but it's awesome on a console, right?
01:27You can create together, you can scavenge together
01:29you can defend together
01:30and just tons and tons of fun
01:31We listen to the fans, they give us great feedback
01:34they give us great ideas
01:351.3 million people that have bought it on the PC
01:37love it
01:37and there's not any experiences like this
01:40on console at all
01:40this concept, okay, I go scavenge
01:42then I build
01:43I build this awesome base to defend
01:45and then I actually can either
01:46kind of wake back and just see what my defenses do
01:48or actively defended by picking off zombies with my guns or whatever it is
01:52and then kind of repeating that process every seven days
01:54there's nothing like that on console
01:55if you like creativity in your games
01:57if you like building things, crafting things
01:59and then testing those creations
02:01and coming up with all your tactics and your strategies
02:04and learning from that
02:05that's like my favorite part
02:06and I think if you like that stuff in other games like Minecraft
02:08I think you'll like it a lot in this
02:10It's a different kind of game
02:11I mean having to maintain your hydration level
02:14your food level
02:15surviving the elements
02:17people just find that more interesting than the typical shooter
02:19scavenge
02:21build
02:22defend
02:22survive
