00:00U.S. intelligence has found that Iran has not taken steps to rebuild its nuclear enrichment capabilities
00:07after facilities were destroyed last year in strikes by the U.S. and Israel.
00:12The finding contradicts a key justification used by President Donald Trump for the ongoing war,
00:19who said he ordered strikes on February 28 due to an imminent threat.
00:25Known as Operation Midnight Hammer, the U.S. carried out attacks on three Iranian nuclear sites in June 2025.
00:34Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said the strikes had obliterated Iran's enrichment program.
00:40In a briefing to senators, Gabbard added that U.S. intelligence concluded the Iranian government to still be intact,
00:47but had significantly degraded after attacks on its leadership and military capabilities.
00:52Trump had continued to maintain that Iran was weeks away from developing a nuclear weapon, prompting his decision to act.
01:00However, the United Nations nuclear watchdog and most independent observers have not supported claims of an imminent nuclear bomb by
01:09Iran.
01:09Iran had also been in talks with U.S. envoys on a possible deal, just days before the strikes were
01:15carried out.
