00:09Mafia 3 takes place in the same universe as Mafia 1 and 2
00:12so we reference, you know, Empire Bay
00:14and characters from the franchise that were in the previous games
00:17and that connective tissue is Vito Scoletta
00:20after the events of Mafia 2, Leo saves his life
00:23but the price for that is that Vito's exiled
00:26he's sent to New Bordeaux, he can never return to Empire Bay
00:29he's basically out of everything that he'd been working toward in that city
00:32and once he's in New Bordeaux he falls under obviously Sal Marcano and reports up to him
00:38but Vito has very much an axe to grind with Marcano
00:40because he was betrayed very much the same way that Lincoln was
00:44now because Vito is a made man Marcano can just go after him
00:47he's still under the protection of Leo Galante who still exists in Empire Bay
00:51so Marcano has to be a little bit sneakier
00:53he has to be a little bit more political about slowly edging out Vito
00:57and this is one of the reasons why Vito is ultimately turning to Lincoln
01:01and asking for his help
01:02not only do we address what has happened to Vito in the time between Mafia 2 and 3
01:08and we explore in some ways Vito's relationship and feelings about Leo
01:12and his feelings about Sal and all the things that have happened
01:15but we also do make sure that we address some of the other big, you know, loose ends from Mafia

01:21and namely Joe's fate
01:23that was really important to us that if we're going to have Vito in the game
01:26we have to be able to talk about that and reveal that
01:29and I think if you're a player who's interested in Vito and interested in that
01:32and you devote some time to Vito and you do some of his
01:35what we call agenda missions in the game and build some loyalty with Vito
01:39you'll be rewarded as you go through the game
01:41and learn more about what happened to Joe and kind of his fate
