00:00For the next few months, you'll be hearing a little less from me and a little less frequently.
00:05Six weeks ago, I went to the doctor, hat on the side of my head, something going on with my
00:10eating. I thought it was probably acid reflux and he would give me a big bag of Gaviscon.
00:16Other tablets are available. Instead, it turns out that I have cancer. To be specific,
00:23I have cancer of the esophagus, a really dangerous thing. Now, look, that's the bad news.
00:30The less bad news, because there isn't really good news, is that after another long series of tests,
00:37after a very tense three or four weeks waiting for results, the medics say that the thing hasn't
00:42spread inside my body and that they can and they will help me. If you feel something just isn't
00:48right in your body, I don't mean you've got a hangnail or a bit of earwax or something,
00:52but if you know something is not quite right in your body, for God's sake, go to the doctor.
00:56Get yourself checked out. 99% of the time, it will be nothing. But if it is something,
01:03the sooner it's caught, the better the chance of getting it sorted out. Get yourself checked out.
