00:00Hello, I'm here with one of my clients today. You know what, let me do that again.
00:04Didn't introduce myself. Hello, Luke Michael Howard from Lupinosis Hypnosis here.
00:09And I'm here with one of my clients today, Cody.
00:12And Cody came to see me just under a year ago to, it was to stop smoking, right, Cody?
00:19That's correct. I smoked 15 months ago.
00:22You're absolutely right. Yeah, yeah. So it's almost a year and a half ago.
00:26So it was to stop smoking, right?
00:31Yes, yes. It was like just before Christmas time.
00:34The missus and I wanted to do something better for our lives and we decided on you.
00:39Amazing. And what was it that made you initially book with me?
00:44I would say probably your advertisement on the web.
00:48I was looking for laser slash hypnotism and then I just needed you.
00:54And remind me, how many cigarettes were you smoking a day just before we met?
00:59About a pack and a half a day.
01:01Wow. So like, what's that? A good 30, 35?
01:04Yeah, right around 30.
01:06And how long, how many years were you smoking?
01:1120, 25, 25 years.
01:13Wow. Okay. And what other stuff, because you talked about like wanting to try laser
01:19when we first met, what other stuff had you tried to quit smoking before we worked together?
01:26That's called Zyban or no, Champax back in the day.
01:30Yeah.
01:32And then that worked for a little while.
01:35Then I got stressed out.
01:37Something happened in my life and I had to change it up.
01:39And then I started smoking again and I never put it down for 25 years.
01:44And what was it about, like when we initially met, that put you in a position where you're like,
01:50I've got to do something about this and quit once and for all?
01:54The constant wheezing, out of breath, no cardio whatsoever.
01:59And then, yeah, it was just a habitual habit that didn't want to be there.
02:05Yeah. And feel free to be as completely honest as you will be, as I'm sure.
02:11Before we met, honestly, man to man, what were your thoughts on hypnosis,
02:16hypnotherapy and kind of stuff that I do?
02:19I was definitely a skeptic.
02:20I didn't think I'd be able to be hypnotized.
02:23And like I was, I was, I was very like, I didn't think it was going to happen,
02:28but I figured I'd give it a try anyway.
02:30Yeah. Yep. Which is fair.
02:32And our session, as all of my sessions for about six or seven years,
02:36it wasn't even in person, right?
02:39No, not at all.
02:39That was the other day.
02:41It was over, over the Zoom call laptop.
02:43And I was just like, yeah, right.
02:45And then I was, where, where we got done,
02:47I was on the job working on the road.
02:49I was hanging out with the guys.
02:51And then I said, oh, I got to go do my, my Zoom call.
02:54And then come out, come out of there an hour later.
02:57And then they go to me as like, uh, so did it work?
02:59I'm like, I'm a non-smoker and I haven't smoked since.
03:03And that's 15 months ago.
03:05Yeah.
03:05So we didn't even meet in person.
03:07We didn't even shake hands.
03:08We did it over a bloody video like this.
03:11You closed your eyes.
03:13And then 15 months later, you're still on a non-smoker.
03:16That was totally amazing.
03:17Totally amazing.
03:18That's bloody amazing, man.
03:20Great job.
03:21You saved some money as well, right?
03:24Well, probably.
03:25Yeah, yeah.
03:26I think the average smoker who smokes a pack a day, so for a year it's a bit more, would
03:33save, if they stop smoking, it's about three grand a year.
03:37So if it's, if it's a traditional pack of cigarettes, which, what, what, is about $10 or so?
03:43No, no, no.
03:44They're like, I stopped around 16, 17.
03:47They're more than that now.
03:49So you say, yeah.
03:51So you probably saved four and a half, five grand.
03:55Yeah.
03:55That's awesome.
03:56That's great.
03:59If you remember, I know it was 15 months ago, but can you describe the experience with me, like, from
04:04working over Zoom, like, what you remember about it?
04:12Like, talking, like, talking about it, you made me close my eyes, and then you start talking, and something went
04:19corrugated out there.
04:21Your voice went corrugated for a second, and then it was over with, and he said, if you can.
04:27Shut your eyes, lay down, or, like, if you can't fall asleep, I'll be better.
04:30I fell asleep for 25 minutes, and I got up, and then, yeah, that's when I went outside and joined
04:38the party with the boys at work.
04:40So when we finished, you took a little nap?
04:43Yeah.
04:44Like, because I asked you to, yeah, like, yeah, if you've got, sometimes, I often say that, if you've got
04:49time, it's safe for you to do it, you don't have to rush back to work.
04:52Like, if you can close your eyes 15, 20 minutes, a little cat nap, it can help the processing go
04:57on, because there's still processing going on when we're completed, and you did that.
05:01That was amazing.
05:02Yeah, that's a little bit that I added about two years ago, that little nap or processing time, and it
05:08really helps everything connect together.
05:10So I'm happy that that worked for you.
05:14So now we're, like, a year, 15 months, almost a year and a half now.
05:18How do you feel now as a non-smoker?
05:22Beautiful.
05:22People, like, people I grew up with, I could tell the difference between, I could smell, I could smell forever
05:28now.
05:29I could smell things that, like, other people can't smell.
05:32I thought I'd be grossed out by hanging out with people with cigarette smell.
05:37It doesn't bother me.
05:40Pretty much, like, I've done everything the same.
05:42I'm just not smoking cigarettes, which is exactly what I wanted.
05:47Beautiful.
05:48Sometimes people figure, oh, a lot of my friends or my partner smokes, am I going to have to get
05:52a whole bunch of new friends?
05:53Am I going to have to trade my wife in?
05:55I'm like, no, like, your job isn't to make them quit.
05:59It's just you've decided not to do it, but you can still be around people you love and you like.
06:04And it's fine.
06:05It's there.
06:05So that's, yeah, that's often a fear people have.
06:07Oh, am I going to have to trade everyone in for a new version?
06:11Well, if you want to, but.
06:12Like, I smoke cannabis as well, so I was worried about not being able to do that,
06:17but there's no problem there either.
06:19That's great, because sometimes people can't differentiate them, right?
06:23They become together, but you can make a decision.
06:26I want to do weed, want to do cannabis, just don't want to do tobacco anymore.
06:30Yeah.
06:31That's great.
06:32Awesome.
06:32That's your choice.
06:34If there's anyone that's watching this, that's thinking about quitting smoking, but they're
06:39on the fence, they know they should quit, but they enjoy doing it.
06:43And they've tried maybe lasers, patches, medication like Zyban.
06:47And they're on the fence thinking, oh, should I give this hypnosis a try?
06:51Should I give this guy with beard and lots of tattoos who speaks really fast with a beautiful
06:55British accent?
06:56If they're on the fence, what would you say to them?
07:00I would say give it a go.
07:01It's like, I haven't, I haven't heard anything bad, even with the, with the wife.
07:06She, she went for the drinking and she hasn't really drank since.
07:11That's amazing to hear your wife have come to me as well.
07:14Yeah.
07:14And she quit drinking after one session, right?
07:17No, no.
07:18It was a couple.
07:19Oh, she's a couple.
07:20Okay.
07:20But you, you were, you were one session.
07:22Yeah, I was one.
07:23Yeah.
07:24I'm happy to hear about your wife as well.
07:26That makes it good.
07:28Cody, before we wrap this bit up, is there anything that you wish that I'd said or asked
07:33you that I haven't asked you or anything else you want to say?
07:37Not really.
07:38No, I can't think of anything.
07:39Awesome.
07:40Well, thank you for checking in.
07:41I love to do these, checking in with people like a year or so down the line and hearing
07:46about the success.
07:47I'm proud of you.
07:48Thank you for doing this with me and always believe.
07:51Yeah.
07:52Thank you for taking me on.
07:54Thanks, Cody.
