March unleashed a whirlwind of severe weather across the United States, all occurring in under two weeks. More than 130 tornadoes were recorded as three significant storm systems impacted various states, resulting in devastation, injuries, and fatalities.

The peril didn’t end there. A record-breaking blizzard, Winter Storm Iona, dumped over 3 feet of snow in certain areas of Wisconsin and Michigan, with fierce winds causing whiteout situations. Concurrently, severe storms generated nearly 800 incidents of damaging winds from Texas all the way to the East Coast.

In addition, Hawaii endured significant flooding due to a Kona storm, wildfires rapidly spread throughout Nebraska, and a perilous heat wave began to form in the western United States.

This marks one of the most intense beginnings to March in recent years, highlighting the unpredictable and formidable nature of weather.
