00:00A thousand years ago, a group of people left Earth and organized the League of Free Worlds.
00:04One of the planets that humans took over was XT-59, which was covered in impenetrable swamps.
00:09This didn't stop humans from building a city where a total control system keeps its population
00:13isolated from the outside world, forces contact surveillance, and has very strict requirements.
00:18The system even chooses a person's spouse and job.
00:21Christie hated the job they gave her and her assigned husband even more, so she abandoned
00:25them only to immediately get arrested.
00:26Christie and eight other prisoners are taken to a special prison facility, where they must
00:30stand against the wall for a few minutes so they can be scanned.
00:33All personal data is collected by the system and sent to the central computers for the president
00:37to see.
00:38Then he tells his advisors who should be arrested and for what.
00:40While they finish scanning everyone, the guards bring in a tenth prisoner with a bag over his
00:44head.
00:45The captain explains he would love to shoot them all but the law doesn't allow him to,
00:49so instead the prisoners will be released on the swamp lands.
00:51If they survive long enough to cross 300 kilometers due east, they may find the Islands of Happiness.
00:56which grants them redemption.
00:58However Christie has never heard of anyone who actually reached the islands because the
01:01swap lands are full of danger.
01:03Next the prisoners are taken outside and the guy with the bag is told to keep going.
01:06However he's suspicious and kicks a rock, revealing that the electrified fence is still
01:10up.
01:11The man thinks they were trying to kill him and make it look like an accident.
01:14Then the captain announces a sentence of exile and finally removes the bag so Irvin can
01:18see again.
01:19Before leaving, the guards drop a box with supplies and the captain tells them to be gone in an hour.
01:23If anyone stays near the facility, they'll be shot down.
01:27The captain reactivates the fence before leaving with the guards.
01:30Maria immediately freaks out and tries running into the fence, but Christie stops her.
01:34Irvin says they should introduce themselves and they learn that Yust already served time
01:38and knows the swamps very well.
01:40The conversation is interrupted when a terrifying creature bursts out of the ground, shaking
01:44its branch-like body for a second before hiding again.
01:46Irvin explains it's called sawwort and it can sense vibrations that guide its attacks.
01:51Afterward Irvin opens the box and the prisoners start pushing each other to get to the supplies
01:54first.
01:55Irvin only grabs a knife and tells Christie to drop what she got because she won't need

01:59Suddenly Yust closes the box and says that nobody here could survive the swamps, so they should
02:03follow him.
02:04However Irvin and Christie refuse to go with the group because they want to find the islands,
02:08which Yust doesn't believe in.
02:09Before leaving, Irvin asks for his and Christie's share of the supplies, but Yust refuses.

04:12Sometime later Christie and Irvin stop to rest and get some water.
04:15At that moment an electrified tentacle comes out of the ground and almost attacks Christie,
04:19but Irvin jumps on it with his cloak to stop it.
04:21The tentacle begins fighting back, wrapping itself around Irvin's body and slashing his chest.
04:26Following Irvin's instructions, Christie grabs the knife and cuts at the bottom, causing the underground
04:31creature to retrieve.
04:32Irvin decides to keep the severed tentacle to use it as a weapon.
04:35Afterward Christie cleans Irvin's wound while admitting her crime was murder.
04:39She tried to get a divorce permit and the government worker tried to molest her, so she
04:42acted in self-defense.
04:44They're interrupted by the arrival of the other group and when Yust tries to steal the box,
04:48Irvin uses the tentacle as a whip to keep him at bay.
04:50Yust's group steps back and the duo continues with their journey.
04:53Some hours later, Irvin notices that Yust and his people are still following them.
04:57Christie wonders where the group is going if Yust doesn't believe in the islands and Irvin
05:01theorizes they're heading to the Rotten Shoal, a former prison where social outcasts live.
05:05Suddenly Irvin notices a sawwort emerging from the ground and tells Christie to lie down
05:09without moving or making a sound.
05:11The other group keeps on moving, causing the sawwort to sense their vibrations and start
05:15to send its branches up.
05:16Yust finally tells everyone to freeze but it's too late, the huge sawwort bursts out and swings
05:20its body to attack.
05:22Most of the prisoners dodge it, but Maria and Chob get caught by the branches.
05:26Luckily Chob has a knife and immediately cuts the branch to free themselves, only for the
05:30creature to regenerate and create a monstrous structure in front of them.
05:33Yust reminds everyone to stay still, however Kaim is terrified and runs away.
05:37A branch grabs him by the ankle and keeps him in place so the main body can descend on him,
05:41capturing Kaim and taking him with it as it returns to its underground lair.
05:45While the other branches disappear as well, Christie calls Irvin out for not warning the others about
05:49the creature.
05:50Irvin reminds her they need to survive and forces her to keep going.
05:53At the facility, the president tells the officers he wants them to catch Irvin and bring him
05:57over, referring to him as the advisor.
05:59If they fail, the president will make the officers prisoners as well.
06:03Sometime later while Duo is resting, Christie hears a strange sound and turns around to find
06:07a terrifying view.
06:08There is a huge swarm of small creatures approaching them very fast.
06:11She immediately tries to run away, but Irvin stops her and drags her back.
06:15When a creature almost attacks them, Irvin destroys it with the whip, then he brings Christie
06:19into the box with him.
06:20The creatures soon reach their spot and stomp all over the box, making it shake like crazy.
06:25However it's strong enough not to break and it keeps them both safe until the monsters
06:28are gone.
06:29Once they're sure it's over, the duo comes out and keeps traveling without the box.
06:33Soon they reach the actually swamps, so they use their poles to check the ground before taking
06:37another step, that way they can avoid sinking.
06:40Meanwhile Yest's group also reaches the area and Maria is having trouble to advance at a
06:44proper pace.
06:45Yest announces they're taking a break and Layla protests as she points out they'll lose Irvin's
06:48trail, but Yest doesn't care.
06:50Furious, Layla cuts off her end of the rope and tries to leave.
06:54Soon Yest is chasing after her, however he isn't paying attention and ends up falling into
06:58a swamp hole.
06:59Layla laughs at him as he begs for help and Chobb considers rescuing him, but Layla stops
07:03him.
07:04She explains Irvin used to be an advisor for the president and he has all the required
07:07information about this area, so they should be following him and not Yest.
07:11Most of the group agrees and leaves with her, but Yan stays back and helps Yest to get
07:14out of the hole.
07:15Later in the evening, Irvin catches a bunch of bugs and eats them raw, telling Christy
07:19to do the same if she wants to survive.
07:21Christy does it even though she finds the taste disgusting and Irvin clarifies boiling
07:25them would make them taste even worse.
07:26While they rest, Irvin finally shares why he was imprisoned.
07:30Layla was right, he used to be an advisor for the president, and he got caught when he tried
07:34to leak some information that would prove the corruption in the system.
07:37In the end Irvin surrendered himself, hoping to be exiled on purpose.
07:40He knew the system couldn't work without him so disappearing would be the most effective
07:44way to destroy it.
07:45In the facility, the captain discovers the system is going through some errors that cause
07:48the communication satellites to fail.
07:50However nobody can restart it because Irvin is the only one who knows the code.
07:54Sometime later, Layla's group sees two people nearby and approaches them thinking it's Irvin
07:58and Christy.
07:59However it turns out they're two prisoners who have been stuck there forever and survived
08:03by becoming cannibals.
08:04They immediately attack the group and capture Maria while the others run away.
08:08Christy can hear her screaming in the distance and wants to go back for her, but Irvin stops

08:13Maria's screaming stops when the cannibals kill her with a rock.

08:59To confirm her story, Valentin uses a scanner on her body and finds a tracker on Layla's ankle.
09:03Yust announces they must cut it off so Layla tries to run away, only to suddenly fall.
09:08When she looks back, she discovers a cobweb-like creature grabbing her leg.
09:12Soon more strands come out of the ground and starts covering Layla until she can't move
09:16or breathe anymore.
09:17Yust takes control of the group again and they leave while the tracker sends a message
09:20to the captain.
09:21He's happy to learn Layla is dead and reveals he has an old-style gun that will work in the
09:25swamps area, so he sends Matias out with it.
09:28Back to the Yust's group, they watch Valentin find a bag on the ground and open it.
09:31A black substance comes out and enters his body, instantly killing him and devouring
09:35the flesh on his face.
09:37Moments later Yan approaches Christie and Irvin, saying he's abandoned his group.
09:41Irvin doesn't believe him and he's proven right when an object hits him on the head, knocking
09:45him out.
09:45When Irvin wakes up, he discovers he and Christie have been captured by the remaining three prisoners.
09:50Yust explains they're near the entrances to the Rotten Shoal, but they need a plan to
09:54approach it or they may be ambushed.
09:55Irvin wants Christie to leave without him, but she refuses and kisses him.
09:59Afterward Yust picks Irvin up and carries him in his shoulders while looking for an officer,
10:03hoping to make a deal.
10:04In the Rotten Shoal, Matias and two officers arrive.
10:07They knock out a few prisoners hiding there and interrogate another one, who swears nobody
10:11knew has shown up recently.
10:13Suddenly a crossbow is shot in the darkness, killing one of the officers.
10:17Matias and the other guard immediately fire back, killing a bunch of prisoners and destroying
10:21half of the room.
10:22Outside, Chob is wandering alone and Suna saw Wirt's branches start surrounding him.
10:26When the officer comes out to investigate the noise, the saw Wirt attacks and captures him
10:30instead.
10:31In the struggle, his gun is accidentally fired and the random bullets hurt Chob's shoulder.
10:35The weapon falls as the creature disappears with the body.
10:38Meanwhile Yust and Irvin get into the Rotten Shoal using a secret tunnel.
10:42Yust hides Irvin and goes to another room to meet Matias, asking for a deal.
10:46Matias agrees and gives him his gun as guarantee of his word.
10:49When Yust takes him to see Irvin, he's already gone.
10:53Matias uses his scanner to find Irvin's location but keeps it to himself.
10:57Yust walks ahead to start the search and Matias gets ready to shoot him, which Yust hears and
11:00causes him to shoot first.
11:02However the gun has no bullets and Matias quickly brings him down with two shots.
11:06Next Matias checks behind a curtain thinking that's where Irvin is hiding, but the people
11:10his scanner detected are Yan and Kristi.
11:12After killing Yan, Matias captures Kristi and threatens to kill her too if Irvin doesn't
11:16come out.
11:17At that moment Chob sneaks into the building too, bringing the other guard's gun.
11:21He meets with Irvin and they make a plan.
11:23They come out of hiding and Irvin agrees to surrender in exchange for Kristi.
11:27Matias lets go of her but before Chob can shoot Irvin as planned, Yust reappears and stabs
11:31Matias in the head from behind.
11:33As he dies, he accidentally shoots his gun and hits Kristi, but luckily it's just a sedative
11:37and not a real bullet.
11:39Afterward Irvin thanks Yust, who is in great pain.
11:41He asks for Matias' poison capsule and Irvin hands it to him so he can have a peaceful
11:45death.
11:46Sometime later, Kristi, Irvin, and Chob make it to the shore and find small islands on
11:51the sea with nothing on them.
11:52Chob thinks it's over, but Irvin notices the islands are moving, meaning they aren't
11:56real islands.
11:57They're just pieces of the swamp carpet, and they're capable of supporting their weight.
12:00The trio chooses an island to board and uses their poles to push it away from the shore,
12:04hoping it'll take them to their freedom.
12:06At the facility, the president is scolding the captain for his failure when the systems
12:10start shutting down.
12:11The captain sends another officer after Irvin, hoping they still may have a chance to catch
12:15him.
12:15Back to the prisoners, Chob discovers his wound won't stop bleeding and at this rate he'll
12:19die soon.
12:20Not wanting to wait he jumps into the sea and says goodbye to the others before a creature
12:24drags him underwater to be eaten.
12:26A few hours pass and the duo is found by the officer in an aircraft, but it's too late.
12:30The system fails again without the code and the aircraft crashes into the ocean, quickly
12:34sinking.
12:35The duo realizes Irvin's plan worked and the government system is going down, so they celebrate.
12:39Their happiness is interrupted when they notice a waterfall ahead of them.
12:43Using Irvin's science knowledge, he and Christy make a cocoon using the island and hold their
12:47breath as the water throws them down.
12:49Sometime later, the waves drop the duo on a different shore, which appears to be empty.
12:53Irvin knows there's a hidden military facility hidden around here, but he doesn't know the
12:57last digit of the password because the president chose it.
13:00Since they'll only have two tries, Irvin calculates the possibilities on the sand, but Christy says

13:31Minutes later the couple is leaving in the aircraft together because they're sharing the seat.
13:35Eventually they reach another planet and the League of Free Worlds learns about the atrocities
13:38in XD-59's system, thanks to them.
13:41Peacekeeping forces are sent to free the citizens of that planet and in 10 years a new system
13:44takes over, but this one ends up being worse.
