A helicopter carrying family members to attend a funeral in Nepal crashed during landing in Khotang district on Wednesday. The Air Dynasty chopper, flight 9N-AFQ, overturned in Balabesi while descending from Kathmandu.
All passengers escaped unhurt except Kaji Bahadur Rai, who suffered a minor leg injury. Nagmani Rai, his son Balkumar Rai, daughter Samjhana Rai, and relative Laxmi Rai were also on board. The deceased wife, Manmachi Rai, was being transported separately.
Nepal Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the helicopter tipped over while landing. The injured passenger was evacuated to Kathmandu by another company helicopter. The rest of the passengers and crew are safe.
