00:26This time of season right now, I mean, I can tell summer's gone.
00:29We're well into the fall and we have no time for delays anymore.
00:33Four months into the season, Rick Ness is deep in the hole.
00:40I mean, at the moment, we're not even at 500 ounces yet, so we can't afford to be wasting
00:44any more time.
00:46If we don't see some gold soon, there's no way we're going to hit our 1,800 ounces.
00:51Just seven weeks remain in the mining season.
00:55Rick's now spent a million dollars moving a mountain in his Valhalla cut, and he's finally
01:01close to hitting the pay layer.
01:04This whole Valhalla cut here, you know, it's huge.
01:07It's probably the biggest project I've ever taken on up here, and you know, it's really
01:11starting to eat at me a bit.
01:12If things don't go exactly as they have to go, then I'm broken.
01:16I'm done.
01:17Bailey's got a lot done in the cut.
01:19I mean, he's doing a hell of a job down there.
01:20It's looking like any day, we're going to be a town to pay, and we need to get slew some
01:24quick.
01:25We need to see some gold.
01:26The guys are with me on it.
01:28I know that.
01:28And they've been working their asses off, and that's just what we're going to stick with.
01:31Because if Valhalla pays off, it could be the best decision I've ever made.
01:39Hey, Rick, you got a copy?
01:41Go for Rick.
01:42You can come down to the cut.
01:55Oh, boy.
01:56Well, buddy, I got some honest opinions.
02:00From there, you can see how it dives right there.
02:03That's the slope, and then it continues there.
02:05But everything from like that edge, I dug 25 more feet down, as far as that thing can
02:12go down, and it was just still pure clay.
02:15What do you mean?
02:17No pay.
02:21Rick believes an ancient dried-out riverbed filled with coarse gold runs across four miles
02:29of his Duncan Creek claims.
02:31The 50-foot pay streak is proven to run under Raleigh Valley, and then downstream to Vegas
02:39Valley.
02:39Rick assumed this pay layer would be at the same 150-foot depth in Valhalla.
02:46But after digging down for over a month, instead of hitting pay dirt, Bentley has run into
02:53a 25-foot clay layer with no gold.
03:04Dude.
03:05It's all this clay.
03:06Like, where the do we take it?
03:0725 more feet down, that's...
03:09That's too much.
03:10Too much for this year.
03:12There might be rich pay farther down, but you think about it, we don't know what's down
03:17there.
03:17Yeah.
03:21I dug a test hole pretty much just across from that elbow right there.
03:25Yeah.
03:25To like the edge of that over there.
03:27But it's just clay.
03:28Oh, it's clay all the way to the next cut, man.
03:33Doesn't make any sense.
03:38Sorry that I got to tell you, but the ground don't lie.
03:42It's all dead zone.
03:47It's a smack to the face, man.
03:48I know we did all this work, but isn't worth it.
03:54All right.
03:54Give me a minute.
03:55Yep.
04:08We have no clue what's underneath this clay, and we got to figure out something quick,
04:12because time's running out.
04:17Quite a bit going on today.
04:19You know, Rick's doing some soul searching right now, looking for what he wants to do.
04:23So, a lot of thoughts going through his head.
04:32You know, I really thought that this whole Valhalla cut was going to be huge for us.
04:35Bailey gets on this clay layer.
04:37We just have no way to deal with that this year.
04:39It's just not going to work.
04:43I'm out here with seven people trying to move them out, right, to get down to a little
04:47spot in the bottom that's got a bunch of gold in it.
04:52When I wanted to make these big decisions, that would leave me, by the time I was done
04:56with this, with something that I could hold in that cell and be able to do what I want
05:01after that.
05:01That's the whole reason I'm out here, right?
05:03It's, you know, I don't want to be mining until I'm 100 years old.
05:07I want to learn this.
05:08I want to do it.
05:08I want to do it right.
05:09And I want to be happy after this.
05:11And, you know, now I'll walk away with nothing, you know?
05:16And that's the opposite of the plan.
05:20And I wanted to walk away from this with everything.
05:23And, uh...
05:27Yeah.
05:32Is this...
05:33This whole endeavor could be the thing that makes my entire life great or it could be
05:41the thing that ruins it.
05:48I can handle it.
05:49I can.
05:49I can.
05:50I've been handling it.
05:51But, like, just some names matter.
05:53It's just too much.
05:54And I don't talk about it with my guys.
05:55I don't talk about it with anybody.
05:56Because if I talk about it, it makes it real.
05:58And then I can't control it.
06:02It's just not where I thought it would be when I made the decision.
06:06And it's frustrating.
06:07And I don't...
06:08At this time, I'm wondering if it ever is gonna be.
06:14Yeah.
06:15I'm struggling more than I thought I would.
06:17Damn it.
06:41There's no reason to slow down for me.
06:44Have you ever seen these retired people?
06:47I mean, the biggest thing they have to look forward is to walk behind the wife, go shopping.
06:53Talking about things they could have done, they should have done.
06:56They're dead already.
06:57They just don't know it.
06:58Not me.
07:00Back that thing up.
07:02Let's go.
07:02King of the Klondike, Tony Beetz, is on the verge of breaking records.
07:09There's still almost two months of the season to go.
07:12And Tony is already closing in on a massive milestone.
07:17We're only, what, 500 ounces away from the target.
07:20Right now, we've got three boxes banging away.
07:23You know, six, 700 yards an hour.
07:25So, if anything goes well, we should hit our 65-hundred-ounce goal this week.
07:32That is exciting.
07:34Tony has three wash plants running.
07:37Sluice-a-lot and find-a-lot on the Indian River.
07:41And the trommel on Paradise Hill.
07:44To hit his target, Tony needs his entire arsenal of wash plants running full-bore this week.
07:52Okay, back that thing up quicker.
07:54Let's go, go, go, go, go, go.
07:59At the corner cut, Sluice-a-lot accounts for half the Indian River's weekly gold production.
08:09My responsibility is while running this land,
08:12we've got to watch the fines and the forest tailings that build up, you know.
08:20We've got to shut down.
08:26We've got to shut down.
08:39Oh .
08:42See the metal separating from the edge of the drum?
08:45And that's not good.
08:46You can blow up that end pulley, and then you get a major jam up,
08:51and then your runs get filled and you end up blowing gold out of the boxes,
08:55because your runs will get full of rocks, eh?
08:57We've got to do something about it.
09:00A broken drum pulley on the course tailings conveyor has jammed,
09:06taking Sluice-a-lot out of action.
09:12You can start digging down here.
09:14You know the drill, right?
09:17It's hard to the day, though.
09:19Didn't think I'd be doing this.
09:21Toughly.
09:23A little bit of a project.
09:25We can't just take the drum out.
09:27We've got to take the whole conveyor off.
09:29In charge of getting Sluice-a-lot back on the gold,
09:33Indian River foreman, Cousin Mike.
09:36We're just going to move the whole wash plant to a new spot where it's level.
09:43Sluice-a-lot's tailings conveyor removes coarse waste rocks from the shaker decks.
09:48But four months of wear and tear has sheared its drum pulley from its shaft,
09:54and the belt no longer turns.
09:57To replace it, Cousin Mike needs to raise the plant with its built-in hydraulic rams.
10:04Then, drag it out with a dozer until it's free from the dirt.
10:09Next, he must remove the conveyor and belt to access the broken drum pulley.
10:15Then, install a replacement.
10:19Reattach the belt.
10:21And finally, fire the plant back up.
10:27I can lift up the plant hydraulically.
10:30Every little bit helps as we can get it out of the dirt.
10:34There it goes.
10:39It is just so that when I start dragging, we don't wreck anything.
10:50We'll start hooking up some cables.
11:00Dalton, do you copy, Dalton?
11:02Go ahead, go ahead.
11:04Everybody clear?
11:06You guys get the away from that cable.
11:11If that cable snaps, it'll cut you right in half.
11:15Stay away from it.
11:23Stay away from that cable.
11:26Everyone's clear.
11:28Tony Beetz wants to smash his 6,500-ounce season target this week
11:34and needs to get his wash plant sluice-a-lot back in action.
11:39All right, out we go.
11:46Cable's tight.
11:54I already noticed now it's heavy cooling.
12:05I'll have a look at it.
12:07The plant free from the dirt,
12:09Tony can now inspect the broken tailing's conveyor.
12:14How's it going, gentlemen?
12:16See you got it out of the dirt.
12:18You know, make an old guy crawl underneath this .
12:21How are you?
12:22What the ?
12:23If he can't do that anymore, he shouldn't be here.
12:26Oh, .
12:27What the are you finding over there?
12:29The tail pull is toast.
12:31I found a new one.
12:33Let's see if it fits.
12:33On each side we got a plate.
12:36So we have to disconnect that plate, take it off.
12:40No, just rip the out, just build for it.
12:42But I wouldn't want to screw around in the back here, are you?
12:46Hurry up!
12:49Okay, I'll loosen this one up, Len.
12:51Yeah.
12:56Let's do some lifting and then we can swing it out.
13:06Len, can you walk ahead a little bit, walk forward?
13:17You're free?
13:20Maybe walk another four feet?
13:24I'll lift it up till it's free.
13:26And try and keep it on the top that I don't hit anything.
13:29Okay, good there.
13:34Yeah, eh?
13:35Yeah, we're good there.
13:37Well, that was pretty successful.
13:44Yeah, that's it.
13:48Watch your toes, watch your toes.
13:52He's out.
13:54Yeah, so we finally got this bastard out.
13:57As you can see, it's ripped here all the way around.
14:01So we'll first try to put the new pulley in, getting back to sluicing as soon as possible.
14:06If the shaft is wide enough and everything and hopefully that all works out.
14:12But the other one is 56.
14:15And this one is 68.
14:18Uh-oh.
14:20The one I brought is a little bit smaller.
14:23Uh-oh.
14:27That's not gonna work.
14:29So we need a new plant.
14:30We like to hit a season goal.
14:32So that plant's gotta be up and running in order to achieve that.
14:36Until we come up with something else, sluice lot ain't gonna be running.
14:59The gold in the ground is the gold in the ground, but it's a lot of dirt to get through.
15:06It's just extremely frustrating.
15:09Heading into the home stretch of the season,
15:13Parker Schnabel's 10,000-ounce gold target is in danger of slipping from his grasp.
15:20We just need to keep the sluicing hours up.
15:22We're gonna be hard-pressed to get through that pit this year if we don't have wash plants running.
15:27So we just hit 10,000 ounces.
15:29We've gotta sluice all of it.
15:33Last week...
15:34We shut down both sluice and Big Red.
15:36Parker shut down two wash plants to dig out the last of the pay dirt from the Golden Mile.
15:43We have a major problem.
15:44The dirt can't be in the hole anymore.
15:46We could just start making pay piles.
15:51While the crew continues to dig out pay,
15:55Parker wants to get one of the plants back up and sluicing.
16:00So we've built two big pay piles.
16:03Big Red's ready to move next to one of the big piles that we've got of pay.
16:06But now, Tyson's taken some time off.
16:10Timing's not great.
16:11So that's a wrap for me right now.
16:13I drive to the airport and fly out to my sister's wedding.
16:17While I'm gone, one of the major things that really have to happen is moving Big Red.
16:23With Tyson being gone, Brennan's filling in for him.
16:26And Brennan's going to get that plant moved.
16:29This is the first kind of major wash plant thing that Brennan's been in charge of.
16:36So, we'll see how badly he can screw it up.
16:40It's on Brennan now.
16:42Shouldn't take more than a ship.
16:46Hopefully I remember how all the pieces go together here.
16:50Despite being a seasoned dirt mover, Brennan Rouault hasn't moved Big Red in five years.
16:57Moving a plant is always a big responsibility and it does always give me a bit of anxiety if I
17:02was to be honest with you.
17:03We have two pay piles that are the size of Mount Everest here to get through.
17:08So, it's all a massive race against the clock right now.
17:12Every minute the plant shut down is that many ounces of gold not getting washed.
17:17Parker wanted this thing to loosen tonight and I want to make that happen.
17:24But I do want to prove myself here.
17:35You guys are good with all this?
17:37Yeah.
17:38I was hoping to have it moved and set up today and washing rocks for night shifts.
17:41So, is your pad ready?
17:43Yeah.
17:44Better be.
17:50Don't break my wash plant.
17:53He looked at you, not me.
17:55I should be looking at you.
17:57Don't break my wash plant.
17:58I can't promise you that.
18:04Hopefully these guys can get a wash plant moved.
18:07Hey, pal, we're ready to move this plant here.
18:10Mechanic Alec Kelly helps Brennan move Big Red one mile to the far end of the Golden Mile.
18:18Oh, this thing doesn't corner like a passenger car.
18:23The main body of Big Red weighs 50 tons and clocks in at 21 feet high.
18:41Come on.
18:51Oh, yeah!
18:52Woo!
18:58Plant off the low boy.
19:00Brennan must drag it into place on its new pad.
19:07Make sure the plant comes up sort of square enough so we're not twisting like your pad here.
19:17Favor that side of the bank and then sort of like walk sideways and out.
19:20To leave enough room for Big Red's massive feeder belts, Brennan must maneuver the plant to the edge of the
19:28pad by dangling his 58-ton excavator over the 50-foot drop.
19:34Feeling better about that?
19:36Yeah, now just walk here, far track, down into it.
19:39How close am I?
19:41Ah, like two feet.
19:43Am I going to drop hard?
19:47Should be okay, just lower your boom down as you go.
19:54You can just push yourself back too if you want, it'll dig in.
19:58There you go.
20:01It sure sucks having Tyson gone here right in the middle of a plant move like this.
20:08Yeah, it's definitely feeling a little steeper than I thought it was.
20:18Keep it coming and stop there.
20:25That does look a little gnarly, eh?
20:27Yeah, not bad.
20:28You guys better make sure you remind Parker because he looked at me and said, are you sure you finished
20:32your pad?
20:33Yeah.
20:34Dude, a lot of prep saves a lot of time.
20:35We've still got a little ways to go here but I think you got her lined up pretty good.
20:40Next step, bring in the feed conveyor that delivers the gold-rich pay dirt to the plant.
20:47We can start folding up our radio stacker.
20:51Just cross things are looking good.
20:57Hmm.
20:59That definitely won't last the rest of the year, that's for sure.
21:04This clip here, that clip there, and that one down there, our toast.
21:10And all it takes is one bad clip to rip and then the whole belt could be garbage.
21:17The metal clips that hold the 200-foot-long belt together are nearly destroyed.
21:27And we've got four seams in pretty **** condition.
21:29So what is that? What are you trying to tell me here?
21:31I'm really wanting to hang a belt on this guy.
21:34Are you serious?
21:35So we have one seam, we'll have more uptime for later, throughout the cold season.
21:41How long is this going to take?
21:42If I can get it to the yard, probably six, eight hours.
21:45Have it buttoned up.
21:46**** sucks, man.
21:47I told Parker I'd have this **** thing moved and sluiced by night shift.
21:51It's really **** weird night shift the next day.
21:55Already near the end of the shift, replacing the belt crushes Brennan's timeline.
22:03**** has that pissed me off.
22:06You know, that's a lot of sluice time loss.
22:08That'll be a 24-hour period of no rocks getting run.
22:11Those piles are just too big to **** have a minute of downtime, let alone 24 hours of it.
22:26Right now, sluice lot is down, so I gotta figure out something, improvise something.
22:32If there's anything to get that sluice box back up and going.
22:36On the brink of breaking through his season goal, one of Tony's top money makers, sluice-a-lot, has been
22:44shut down by a broken tail pulley.
22:48We tried ordering one, but now we're talking about a week or two.
22:51You cannot be **** down for two weeks.
22:53We have to come up with something.
22:55Certainly with all the crap we have, we can beg, steal, borrow some **** thing in order to keep on
23:01going.
23:08Let's have a peek.
23:10This one here.
23:12I was looking at that one.
23:14Here, this one.
23:17Nice and thick.
23:19Is the inside 17 and a half?
23:22It might be.
23:23Even if it's not quite, that'd be fine, too.
23:2717.
23:28That'd be just perfect.
23:29That would never break again, eh?
23:31I don't think so.
23:34****, yeah.
23:35What do you think, Hoekstra?
23:36I think it's a nice pipe.
23:38Oh, boy.
23:40Okay.
23:40You're the **** out.
23:42I think she'll do perfect.
23:43Yeah.
23:44That's the limit, gentlemen.
23:45Weld against it.
23:47Yeah.
23:47Yeah.
23:47Perfect.
23:48Perfect.
23:49We should have this plan going before the end of the day.
23:52After finding a pipe approximately the same diameter as the busted drum, cousin Mike and Lynn need to cut it
24:01to size.
24:01Knock this out.
24:03Weld it on.
24:04Bingo.
24:04Have a boost fix.
24:06Couple hours, they'll have the **** thing welded up already.
24:09I like it.
24:10I think it'd be good.
24:11We're gonna do a boost fix today.
24:17All right.
24:18Over there.
24:22First, what we're gonna do is remove the side plate from the drum.
24:38So I just gotta clean that up so that we got a clean surface to weld on.
24:43That will make a more solid weld too for the new drum.
24:52All right.
25:04Now we have to line it up a little bit.
25:15Everything looks nice and straight.
25:19It's gonna be a heavy pull.
25:22Double the weight of the old drum.
25:25Cousin Mike must now install the new pulley on the conveyor to find out if it will work.
25:34If we can side it in, we can drop one side in, right?
25:36Try it.
25:37Yep.
25:37Beautiful.
25:39Okay.
25:40Okay.
25:40I'll lift the other end up, eh?
25:52Can we put a chain on that?
25:53Yeah, I'll put a chain on this one too.
25:57Yeah, I'll slide it your way.
26:03Okay.
26:06That drum looks good.
26:08I'm very happy with how that looks.
26:10Oh, yeah!
26:14We are pretty much ready.
26:16Conveyor belt's done.
26:17Hanging back in the plant and we're getting pretty close to it looking like a wash plant again.
26:30There it is.
26:31Don't move.
26:32Don't move.
26:32Don't move.
26:33Don't move.
26:33Don't move.
26:33We're in.
26:34All right.
26:35We're in there now.
26:36Right on, boys.
26:38All we gotta do now is just get it bolted up.
26:40We're in business.
26:48Perfect.
26:49We won't get old enough to wear that out.
26:52I hope we can get old enough to wear that out.
26:53Hopefully, we're getting enough to get our season goal in this week, but we'll see.
26:57It looks pretty good.
26:59We'll be there for years and years.
27:23Back to full capacity, Tony's in the hunt for his 6,500-ounce gold target.
27:29Is that what you think?
27:30I'll give you a warranty of 10 years.
27:32How about that?
27:33Okay.
27:33Then we'll be back in 10 years.
27:3510, huh?
28:02Well, plant's set up.
28:03Waterline's in.
28:04And we're just waiting on Alec to get the radial stacker down here.
28:07Massive pay pile that the trucks keep adding to daily, so we need to get through that.
28:11After moving the bulk of Big Red in one shift, stand-in foreman Brennan Rouault is itching to get back
28:19sluicing Golden Mile Payne.
28:23Just keep buttoning a few things up here.
28:25Keep busy until he shows up with that.
28:27So I want to be washing rocks here as fast as possible.
28:33Stopping Brennan from firing up, a busted 200-foot conveyor belt.
28:39I know Brennan was really hoping to get Big Red moved in one day, but I've already slowed that timeline
28:45down.
28:46Gotta get it figured out.
28:48Looks like it's still me, myself, and I here for this project.
28:51There's no spare hands to help.
28:54Come on, Sash.
28:54So Alec will need to think outside the box.
28:57This is to help feed the new conveyor belt into the frame of the unit.
29:04Just like that.
29:06String this guy out.
29:08We'll cut the old one off.
29:10Rip the old belt out this way.
29:11The rope gets caught in the frame.
29:13Tie the new belt onto the rope.
29:15Going through that snatch block.
29:16Pull on the rope.
29:17New conveyor belt goes in.
29:19That's how we get it.
29:21Get it assembled.
29:23We'll cut this in half and rip it off.
29:28That's in half.
29:29Start pulling.
29:44It's a long belt.
30:01Oh, we've got the old belt pulled out of the conveyor frame.
30:05Worked really nicely.
30:07Get my rope back here.
30:09And then pretty well reverse the procedure.
30:11Tie the new belt onto this rope end and drag it through again with the truck.
30:17Get this roll freed up.
30:18Lay it out next to the mighty zoom boom.
30:22Next, Alec unspools the 5,500 pound roll of fresh belt.
30:35This is perfect.
30:43Brand new belt.
30:45So I have to make sure that I don't cut the belt too short.
30:48I don't cut it too long.
30:52I hope this is the right place.
31:02You can't tie knots.
31:04Tie two.
31:06Done.
31:06Hook the other end of that rope up to Mr. Truck and sort of drive out that way.
31:11And this guy should feed in nicely.
31:13To pull the new belt onto the conveyor and avoid snagging or ripping the new belt.
31:19To pull the new rubber.
31:20Alec has devised a unique solution.
31:24Got a snatch block here just to direct the rope travel somewhere away from the path that our new belt
31:32will be taking to get into the conveyor.
31:34So we're not driving over top of ourselves.
31:37Got everything rigged up.
31:39There we go.
31:40It's not going through.
31:41It's not going through the belt.
32:08There we go.
32:08Go ahead of us.
32:08There we go.
32:09Here we go.
32:17Well, we got our belt together, I'm really satisfied.
32:20The guys are itching for it and he's going to take the white Kenworth there and hook
32:24it up to this guy here and take it to Brennan.
32:27A day behind schedule, Brennan finally has the radial stacker back and is ready to test
32:35Alec's belt fix.
32:38This is the moment of truth, here we go.
32:48This is the moment of truth, testing.
32:55Woo!
33:00Well, should we hit the shaker and get some dirt thrown at it?
33:03I think so.
33:06Well, I'm super happy to see the dirt going through Big Red again and I just hope Parker's
33:11distance happy.
33:1324 hours behind schedule, Big Red is back sluicing Golden Mile pay dirt.
33:25You're washing rocks!
33:27Yeah!
33:28Day late and a dollar short, Brennan.
33:31That's normal.
33:32I'm more than a dollar short.
33:34What do you mean?
33:35You've got 80,000 yards of top gravel sitting there.
33:38Thank you guys for getting this thing rolling.
33:41Yeah, you bet.
33:41No problem.
33:41It's a nice setup.
33:43Super clean.
33:44I'm very happy right now.
33:47We're going to have a hope in hell in getting through this pile and all the rest is going
33:50to come this way.
34:11It's just clay.
34:12Nothing but clay.
34:14It's got me by surprise right now.
34:15It's just not, I just wasn't ready for that, you know.
34:18Come up with a new plan.
34:19Rick Ness is reeling from a gut punch.
34:23After spending a month and a million dollars, he's hit a dead end at Valhalla.
34:30Now, he's expecting a visit from an old friend.
34:35Hey, Rick.
34:36Look at this.
34:36How's it going, man?
34:37Good, buddy.
34:38How you doing?
34:39Pretty good, living the dream.
34:40Oh, yeah.
34:41Good to see you.
34:42How you doing?
34:43I'm good.
34:44How are you?
34:44I'm great.
34:45We were in the area.
34:46I had to pick up a rock truck.
34:47I had to look at the rock truck this morning.
34:49Yeah, rock trucks.
34:49I could use some of those.
34:50I got 30 of them, and I need more.
34:52Yeah.
34:52The price of gold is good.
34:54Everything is running good.
34:55The price of gold is good.
34:56I see what you and Parker are doing, and I'm just like, man, what's
34:59Am I missing something?
35:01Depths that we're going, though, I don't know.
35:02That's getting a little out of hand for such a small crew.
35:04But every now and then, we'll hit some clay band and that mess.
35:07You need a lot of trucks, Rick.
35:08Yeah, we need a lot of trucks.
35:09Yeah, and for that, you need some of that gold stuff.
35:12Funny how that is.
35:13That's right.
35:13We should just go look at it.
35:14There you go.
35:15Let's try the race car.
35:16How's that?
35:19It's got no brakes right now.
35:20Well, who cares?
35:21Oh, .
35:33Holy .
35:33That's a hell of a hole, pal.
35:35Yeah.
35:42Wow.
35:46That's pretty scary, young man.
35:50See, this is bedrock we're staying on right here.
35:51Yeah, yeah, yeah.
35:52And it goes down like that.
35:55I'll have to come up with a new plan for that, but.
35:57And how many feet did you sluice?
35:5810, 15?
35:5950.
36:0050?
36:0150 feet.
36:0150, you sluice to 50 feet?
36:03Yep.
36:04Well, that's not all wrong with it.
36:05Yeah.
36:06For the plus side for us.
36:07Yeah, 3 to 1, 3 to 1 ratio.
36:08Yes, yes.
36:09Any drill holes?
36:10No.
36:12Vegas Valley, we opened up last year, and this is where the channel went down and we got all that
36:17out of there.
36:18Is there still a chunk in there?
36:20Yeah, there's a chunk in there.
36:21If you attack something like this, yeah, 10, 15 trucks, if not 20.
36:25Yeah.
36:26Go like hell.
36:26To really, yeah, to really open it up.
36:28Yeah.
36:29That'd be something.
36:31I can't afford that, so.
36:33Nice bruise, pal.
36:34Yeah.
36:35I like it.
36:36It won't be until you get to the bottom, right?
36:38That's pretty much it.
36:39Yeah.
36:46How did it go?
36:47You learn anything new.
36:49Well, you've got a hole going down there.
36:52But it is 150 down to 50 pay.
36:55So it is a little.
36:56That's not bad.
36:57You know, in order to do this, you know, you should go in big.
37:01A lot of equipment.
37:03As we talked about, put a pile of in there.
37:05Yeah.
37:05Somewhere to go.
37:06But it takes lots of money.
37:07It takes lots of gold.
37:12It's worked so far, you know.
37:14Well, we've definitely stayed alive, but this one's got me worried.
37:19Right a few bucks going in there before you get it.
37:21I think.
37:22Yeah.
37:22Yep.
37:23Kind of tough.
37:25That's what's got me worried the most.
37:26You know, I was hoping to be, at this point, pay this off and start really putting the
37:30money away.
37:30And now it's turned into, can I survive until I can start putting the money away?
37:35Yeah.
37:37Yeah.
37:37Hey, you don't want to become a seller.
37:39Do I?
37:40Or do I?
37:40I don't know.
37:41Sometimes I'm wondering, well.
37:43Well, put a price on the table.
37:48But me put it?
37:49Right?
37:50Me put a price on the table?
37:50Yeah, put a price on the table.
37:52Then you know.
37:55Then you don't have no worries.
37:58Right?
38:16Would you sell this?
38:18At Duncan Creek, Rick's just had a bombshell buyout offer, dropped by the king of the Klondike.
38:26I would be serious, interesting, because I like these kind of projects.
38:32If you want to discuss that, I don't want these guys around.
38:40At current prices, Rick's four miles of Duncan Creek claims could contain over $50 million of gold.
38:58I appreciate you stopping by.
38:59Hi.
39:00Hi.
39:00It's always good.
39:01Hi, Tom.
39:01Nice to see you.
39:02It's good to see you, too.
39:03Yeah, yeah.
39:06Rick, good luck.
39:07Catch you later, man.
39:08Yep.
39:28It's a weird situation to be in right now, just with what Tony said.
39:32I just kind of, I mean, kind of hit me in a way.
39:36I mean, obviously, I know what I got here.
39:39I know the value of it.
39:44It just seems like, at this point, taking the money and running is just, is it really f***ing smart, or
39:53is it contrary to what I set up here to do?
39:57You know, it's, a number with seven zeros on it gets thrown in your face.
40:01Like, it's hard to f***.
40:04It's hard to f***ing say no to that, too.
40:08I've never really been one to get pushed out of something when I wasn't ready for it, but maybe I
40:13shouldn't be looking at it that way.
40:14I don't know.
40:16Ah, f***.
40:19Every time I think that, you know, I'm getting ahead, I just get pushed backwards again, and like, you know,
40:23that's, whatever, I'm not crying about it.
40:25I'm here to f***ing take it, I'm here to do it, but like, when is enough enough?
40:28When there's a, when there's a, when there's a guarantee put in front of you, when do you just say,
40:33f*** it, I'll take that, and I'll quit fighting.
40:38I've been saying, like, you know, I was 30 years old when I came up here 14 years ago, and
40:42now I'm 70, but I don't know if that's a joke anymore.
40:48Yeah, I'm not gonna have an answer today either, so, I got a lot to think about.
41:17How's it going, buddy?
41:18Good.
41:20At the end of the week, Tyson has returned from his sister's wedding.
41:24Was there any good drama at your wedding?
41:27No, no.
41:28Boring.
41:29It all went pretty good, man.
41:31It's not a real wedding without at least one fist fight.
41:33Yeah.
41:35How did Big Red's move go, Brennan?
41:37I wish you were there with us, but we got it all set up.
41:40Nice.
41:40Had a delay, though, with that belt, the radial stacker there, and he's like, I need to change the belt,
41:45and I tried arguing with him.
41:46You don't want to be the guy that goes to them at midnight and be like, hey, remember that belt?
41:52And it's, like, minus 10 out.
41:54The one you wanted to change, like, two weeks ago when it was still kind of warm?
41:57Yeah, and we told you not to.
42:01But, yeah, other than not, it went really smooth.
42:03Thanks for filling in while Tyson was gone.
42:05Nice work, man.
42:06Yeah, thanks.
42:07Just hoping to make you proud there.
42:08Yeah.
42:08Tyson, you want to see what Bob did?
42:10Sure.
42:11I think that says Bob on there, doesn't it?
42:13Oh, yeah, let's see how the bridge cut did.
42:15Yeah.
42:15First up, Parker's wash plant, Bob.
42:19Over the last two months, it's been consistently averaging 150 ounces.
42:2640, 80, 100, 130, 142.7.
42:39Yeah, Bob's been pretty boring.
42:42Next up, Roxanne, running pay dirt from Ken and Stewart's, where last week it pulled in 123 ounces.
42:51All right, Roxanne, 60, 100, 120, 130, 134.3.
43:05That's not bad.
43:07Finally, Big Red, sluicing the first pay dirt from the Golden Mile in two weeks.
43:14Here we go, Big Red, 10, 20, 30, 40, 40.25.
43:27Well, you know, Brennan, you didn't get a full week, right?
43:29You're just getting started, so it's a start.
43:32Yeah, no, for sure.
43:32Last week, we had 306.25 ounces.
43:35This week, it's 317.25.
43:39Worth $1.1 million.
43:43So, we picked up 11 ounces.
43:46And season total, 7,365.8 ounces.
43:52This crawling towards 10,000 ounces is painful.
43:56At this pace, Parker will fall short of his 10,000-ounce goal.
44:02We were racing earlier this season.
44:05Well, I don't know how much I've told you guys, but there is a new plant showing up.
44:08So, we should be able to slam through some yardage.
44:10And so, hopefully, that makes a difference.
44:12Hopefully, you're ready for a good push.
44:14We'll see.
44:26So, we went and visited Rick.
44:29I told him that if, for some reason or another, he wanted to partner up or he wanted to sell
44:33the joint, we could go over there and dig a hole, I suppose.
44:39Maybe we'll send you the keynote, Mike.
44:41Yeah.
44:42Yeah.
44:46So, we're going to weigh some gold up or what?
44:49We're almost at 6,000 ounces.
44:50Our goal is 6,500.
44:53To break through his season target six weeks ahead of schedule, Tony needs his three wash
45:00plants to deliver 507 ounces.
45:03Okay.
45:03Let's do it.
45:05Pour it in there.
45:05First up, sluice a lot, running pay dirt from the Indian River's corner cut.
45:1118, 23, 30, you got up to 40, 50, coming up 60, going once, going twice, 70, 80, 84.76.
45:25We might as well should have stayed home then two days.
45:29You made it sound like an auction.
45:31Go once, going twice.
45:32I'll take it.
45:33Anyway, so what do you got next?
45:35Should we do find a lot now?
45:37Find a lot ran all week long, also sluicing corner cut pay.
45:42I'll count a lot.
45:4510, 20, 30, 40, 50, 70, 80, 90, 110, 130, 140, 148, 148.96.
45:59Oh, you got more.
46:00150, 170, 100, 200, 220, 230, 250, 270, 278.18.
46:13Getting very close to that season goal.
46:15Pretty nice little haul, isn't it?
46:17Arsenal really want to know what the trommel brought in.
46:20Be interesting to see what we get out of the hill.
46:21To hit Tony's season goal, Mike's trommel needs to bring in 144 ounces.
46:29Y'all ready for this?
46:3210, 20, 30, 40, 50, 70, 80, 90.
46:45100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 60, 70, 180, 190, 200, 210, 220, 230, 240, 250, 260.
47:01262.14.
47:02That is a good million bucks on the table, guys.
47:04Tony has hauled in a weekly total of 625 ounces.
47:12And that gets us over our season goal.
47:15Well, there you go.
47:16Woo!
47:17Over our goal.
47:18Tony now has a total of 6,618 ounces, worth a stunning $23 million.
47:38We still have a month or so left.
47:40Yes.
47:40So are we gonna up our goal?
47:43We'll do the best we can and we'll see how far we get.
47:46You and I have to go back to the hill.
47:48You're in a bossy, aren't you?
47:50It is my place.
47:51You love me.
47:51You love me.
47:52I'm not so sure.
47:53And that guy is huge.
47:54Oh-ho-ho-ho!
47:57Go fuck!
47:58Oh-ho-ho-ho!
