00:05It's a whole new era for Heroes of the Storm and we've got a lot to talk about.
00:09In this video we'll discuss updates to the progression system,
00:13introduce loot chests,
00:15discuss in-game currencies both new and old,
00:19walk you through a new collection system,
00:21and loadouts.
00:23Hold on to your mouse and keyboard,
00:25Heroes 2.0 is just getting started.
00:31Progression in Heroes is changing for both your player level and your individual heroes.
00:36Gone are all level caps.
00:38No longer will you need to feel torn between playing your favorite heroes
00:42or continuing to earn account rewards.
00:45Player level now represents levels gained across all heroes.
00:49Each time one of your heroes goes up a level, so does your player level.
00:53You will now receive rewards for every player level you earn.
00:57Every level will net you a loot chest,
01:00and at significant level milestones,
01:02this loot chest will guarantee an item of rare or even epic quality.
01:08In addition, as you level up a hero,
01:10you'll continue to gain gold periodically,
01:12along with relevant hero portraits.
01:15At milestones across your hero's journey,
01:17you will receive additional loot chests guaranteeing items specific to that hero.
01:23We have reworked the experience curve across the board to ensure hero levels will be gained much quicker,
01:29with experience per level plateauing at level 12.
01:33All current players will have their cumulative experience transferred to this new system without loss.
01:40Loot chests will grant you random items that range in quality from common to rare, epic, and legendary.
01:50Almost every item in the game, including heroes,
01:53has the potential to drop in even basic chests.
01:56But higher quality loot chests earned through progression
01:59will guarantee you at least a single item reflecting the quality of the chest.
02:04All duplicate items received from loot chests fragment into shards,
02:09which can be used to forge cosmetic items.
02:12You can even use gold to re-roll your loot chests,
02:15but the cost will increase each time you choose to test your luck.
02:21There are now a total of three in-game currencies,
02:24each with their own specific purpose.
02:27Gold continues to be the main currency acquired by playing games,
02:31gaining levels, and completing quests.
02:33It is primarily used to unlock heroes.
02:37Shards are fragmented out of duplicate items received from loot chests.
02:42This currency is used to forge cosmetic collection items.
02:45With shards in play alongside gold,
02:48players will no longer have to debate use of a single currency
02:51to unlock both new heroes and cosmetic items.
02:56Gems now replace the direct monetary currency of the previous shop
03:00and can be used to acquire heroes, loot chests,
03:04or anything else available for purchase.
03:07Gems will also be an occasional reward granted by account progression.
03:15We have evolved our shop inventory into a more well-rounded collection system
03:19to support the diversity of items being added into the game.
03:23Along with heroes, skins, mounts, and portraits,
03:27we are adding five new item types.
03:30Banners, sprays, announcers, voice lines, and emojis.
03:37Banners are a new visual accent that you can equip to showcase prowess on the battlefield.
03:43Whenever you take an objective,
03:45strike a killing blow on a fort or keep,
03:47or capture a merc camp,
03:49your chosen banner will rise high over the conquest.
03:53Sprays have now come to Heroes of the Storm.
03:56These visual signs can be placed across the battleground
03:59to serve as an accent for whatever point you care to make.
04:03You can collect a variety of new announcer packs
04:06that will change the in-game audio supporting your team's gameplay.
04:10If you wanted even more Brightwing in your life,
04:13well, here you go.
04:14You have died. I will give you a hug.
04:17You now have the option of equipping specific voice lines for each hero
04:21that can be used to taunt your enemies across the field of battle.
04:25I'm on fire!
04:27Collect them all and change them out
04:28whenever you're waiting to get into a game.
04:31Lastly, each hero now has their own set of customized emojis,
04:35which you can use to chat with your teammates and friends in-game.
04:39You just never know when that silly Alarak emoji is going to come in handy.
04:43Inside the Collection tab is also where you can opt to forge new cosmetic items
04:48out of loot chest shards.
04:50All current skin color variants are now forgeable as individual items within this new system.
04:57Supporting the depth of the new Collection system is a tool we call Loadouts.
05:01This tool replaces the previous skin and mount selection at the party screen.
05:07Each hero is allowed three full pre-assigned item loadouts.
05:11Establish your favorite sets and have them available at the touch of a button.
05:15As you can see, we're kicking off Heroes 2.0 with an explosive update.
05:21You can check out all the changes mentioned here on the current Heroes 2.0 Beta
