00:06I think Life Art resonated with players initially because it was a very exciting time in the games industry with
00:13PlayStation's arrival and the move to proper 3D gaming.
00:18There was always a perception of gaming being for kids but all of a sudden gaming become cool and all
00:24of a sudden it wasn't just teenagers and young kids playing games, it was late teens, 20-somethings and 30
00:29-somethings.
00:31It influenced the culture back in the 90s, club culture back in the 90s and it was very much of
00:36its time.
00:37Literally it was like a phenomenon. Some of the advertising associated with it, with cocks with the blood coming out
00:44of the nose, that was considered kind of insane, completely left field.
00:51And of course having CD quality music in there and being one of the sort of pillar launch titles for
00:58PlayStation just sort of cemented its position in players' minds.
01:03The first track that I created, it was kind of nine inch nailsy, you know, tries to go trance and
01:09it didn't work.
01:10So Nick was quite kind, he said I think you need to embrace the whole vibe a bit more.
01:16Go to a club, that kind of music scene and from that I was meant to derive exciting, fast-paced
01:21music, something that would go in with that whole kind of, I guess like a trance vibe.
01:26It's all about the flow, you get yourself into a particular zone with it and you'll find that before very
01:33long you're just using muscle memory and you're one with the music and you're one with the game.
01:37The precision of it and the way you had to be in control of the craft all the time, the
01:42differences between the different teams, the rivalries just mirrored sort of present day motorsport but projected into the future.
01:48It's just one of the most unreal experiences that you'll have. Wipeout lives with you.
01:55It works so well on HD, it works well on Vita. What we were doing is putting a compilation of
02:00these games together so we didn't really want to touch the gameplay but revamped the visuals, revamped the audio, make
02:06it feel fresh for hopefully a new audience because there's a lot of people out there on PlayStation 4 now
02:11who wouldn't have had a PlayStation 3 or have ever experienced Wipeout.
02:14PlayStation 4 is going to be great at 1080p. PlayStation Pro of course, I've got a 4K TV which is
02:21a HDR TV. It's going to be absolutely beautiful to look at.
02:24I absolutely cannot wait for Wipeout Omega Collection to hit. Seeing it in 4K on PlayStation 4 Pro is just
02:34one of the most unbelievable experiences for me. It's a beautiful moment.
