00:01Alongside police, residents of this home in central Israel
00:05assessed the damage after an Iranian attack.
00:08We were sitting in the safe room after having an alarm.
00:12After around four minutes, we heard a loud boom.
00:17We got really nervous. There was a sound of running water.
00:21We saw a really big hole in the ground.
00:24There was a lot of damages from really tiny rockets.
00:28But it wasn't the only impact Tuesday.
00:31Vehicles and a train station suffered heavy damage
00:34at several sites across central Israel,
00:36hit by what Israeli media say was a cluster warhead.
00:40Since the start of the war, Israel has repeatedly accused Iran
00:44of dropping the banned weapons.
00:46Cluster munitions explode mid-air or on impact
00:49and scatter smaller bombs across a wide area.
00:53On Sunday, at least eight people were injured in Israel
00:56following repeated missile launches from Iran,
00:58including two which contained cluster bombs,
01:01according to Israeli authorities.
01:03Then on Monday, officials reported another site
01:06struck by a cluster bomb in the city of Rishon Lezion.
01:10One of the most problematic aspects of cluster bombs
01:13is that many of the bomblets fail to detonate upon impact.
01:17Israel is particularly worried about unexploded ordnance.
01:22When the war is over, probably we find in the hotel,
01:28in the hospital, in the schools area, a lot of small bombs
01:33that we do not see or heard about them during the war.
01:38During the 12-day war between Iran and Israel last June,
01:42Amnesty International said the Islamic Republic used cluster munitions
01:46at least three times.
01:48Israel, too, has used the weapons.
01:50And in 2007, a U.S. government investigation
01:53found that it had probably violated arms export agreements
01:57when it dropped U.S.-made cluster bombs in Lebanon
02:00during its 2006 war with militant group Hezbollah.
02:04In 2008, the adoption of the Convention on Cluster Munitions
02:08banned the use, transfer, production and stockpiling of cluster bombs.
02:13It's since been ratified by more than 100 countries,
02:16though neither Israel nor Iran is among them.
