00:02Hi everybody, I'm Doug Nelson, I'm the Lead Progression Designer for Agents of Mayhem.
00:07And today I'm going to be talking to you guys about how Agent Progression works in our game.
00:11In Agents of Mayhem, all of your Agents gain experience as they play through the game and do optional or
00:18required open world gameplay.
00:19But Agents of Mayhem isn't just about leveling up your Agents, you'll also need to level up your Agency.
00:24Leveling up your Agency will unlock new perks that you can buy that will permanently increase the powers of your
00:30Agency.
00:31Such as, you could increase the boost meter of your Agency Vehicle, you could also find new ways to discover
00:37collectibles or chests in the world.
00:41In addition to those perks, having a higher Agency level will help you level up your Agents faster.
00:47Agent Progression isn't just about Agent Level, there's also upgrades, core upgrades, gadgets,
00:54and legion tech.
00:56Let's talk about upgrades first.
00:57Each Agent has a unique pool of upgrades.
01:00Upgrades are basically perks that an Agent can buy.
01:03They get one point to spend at each Agent level.
01:06If you don't like how your points are spent, you can reassign those points for free whenever you like.
01:11Each Agent has three unique core upgrades that can be purchased by spending an upgrade core.
01:16Upgrade cores can be found in the world through rewards,
01:19or they can also be crafted when you collect 10 Dark Matter Shards.
01:25These core upgrades are permanent improvements to your Agent.
01:29Here's an example.
01:30Anytime he dashes, he's going to leave behind that timer grenade.
01:35Next is the Gadgets.
01:36There are three different kinds of Gadgets.
01:38There's a Special Gadget, a Weapon Gadget, and a Passive Gadget.
01:42Gadgets are earned by bringing your Agents along on missions and completing them successfully,
01:46or sometimes you can earn them from other ways, like collecting them from loot chests in the world.
01:50And lastly, we have Legion Tech.
01:53Legion Tech are basically augments that you attach to your gadgets.
01:58They add additional gameplay bonuses and perks.
02:00Now that's a lot of gameplay customization to wrap your head around,
02:03but let me give you a demonstration on Hollywood.
02:05Here we have Hollywood at Level 1.
02:08Now Hollywood starts off with only his initial Special Gadget,
02:11and he's got relatively low health, shields, and damage.
02:15Once we've gotten Hollywood a lot higher level, and he's found a lot more gadgets in Legion Tech,
02:20we'll be able to specialize Hollywood into specific builds that give him cool abilities like
02:25a Grenade Spam build, or the ability to use his Mayhem for a long duration.
02:31There's a lot of gameplay customization here, and this was just an example of two builds
02:36for one of our 12 Agents.
02:38There's a lot more builds to find, and I hope everyone will have a lot of fun
02:42finding cool builds and cool synergies within all of our Agents.
