Police are appealing for witnesses after a red Vauxhall Astra left the road in Batley and hit a wall and telegraph pole. The driver, a 36-year-old man, later died in hospital.

00:07in Batley. Officers say a red Vauxhall Astra left the road on Crossbank Road and collided with a
00:13wall and a telegraph pole near Colpit Muse. The collision happened at around 2am on Sunday the
00:1915th of March. The driver, a 36-year-old man from Batley, was critically injured and later died in
00:25hospital. No other vehicles were involved in the incident which is being investigated by West
00:30Yorkshire Police's Major Collision Inquiry Team. Officers are asking anyone who saw the car in the
00:36area or who has any relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to contact them online or via 101.
