00:29It's an action first person shooter, action with like a capital A.
00:33A-C-T-I-O-N.
00:35Yes. It's very fun. I mean it's kind of an arcadey experience.
00:40Our mantra when we were developing it was to remove really all the barriers between the player and the combat.
00:48That's why they're buying Doom, is to kill demons.
00:50So we're really excited for fans of the game who played it on other platforms but for new people coming
00:58to it for the first time playing it on the Nintendo Switch.
01:00We really think it's just going to be a great experience for them.
01:07Nintendo Switch fans can look forward to getting the entire campaign, all of the difficulty modes including Ultra Nightmare mode
01:14which is a really fun way to play the game using only one life.
01:16So if you're into that sort of abuse, it's there for you.
01:21Very difficult though. You get arcade mode which is being able to replay the entire game, all of the levels
01:28with all of the upgraded weapons and runes but in a kind of time and score attack mode.
01:35It's not a narrative heavy game I'd say but the narrative is definitely there.
01:39If you want to read up on stuff and learn more about the story you can, it's there. It's there
01:44for those to look for.
01:45But we felt like the primary audience just wanted to destroy demons by the hundreds. So that's pretty much what
01:53we let you do.
01:58Multiplayer is just an awesome part of Doom. We really focus on keeping it fast paced, very action oriented, very
02:09competitive.
02:10We have 12 modes that you get to play and you get all the DLC content as well with Doom
02:15on the Nintendo Switch.
02:16So it's really awesome. I mean if you like Team Deathmatch you can play that. You can play capture modes.
02:23We have a mode where you're carrying around an eyeball and you're trying to score in the other team's goal.
02:28So lots of variation there and then I think 18 maps total which is just an immense amount of content.
02:35Everything again that we released with the initial game plus all of the DLC.
02:44You know we knew we had a very scalable engine. If you kind of look at the analysis that was
02:50done at idtech 6 right after the game came out.
02:53Most of the kind of technical sites that evaluated it talked about how scalable it was and how many options
03:01we gave players.
03:01In bringing it to the Switch we worked with a developer named Panic Button that has a lot of experience
03:07with Nintendo hardware.
03:10Other kind of experts on the Nintendo Switch. And they basically kind of took that and ran with it.
03:16And really tailored the experience, tailored the tech for that hardware.
03:23So without watering anything down all of our awesome features like the depth of field and just the fast fluid
03:33movement.
03:34We did target 30 frames a second because we wanted a target that we could confidently hit and know that
03:40the gameplay was solid and fast and fluid at that frame rate.
03:45It's really remarkable and visually stunning.
03:48We wouldn't put it in people's hands if we weren't proud of it and we didn't think it was the
03:52best possible representation of Doom.
03:59It was super exciting that we were able to bring Doom to the platform.
04:06We have sister studios working on really exciting stuff.
04:10Bethesda Game Studios is bringing Skyrim to the Nintendo Switch which is just awesome.
04:16I mean, I can't imagine a better game for the platform outside of Doom.
04:20And also, you know, a franchise that's near and dear to our heart, Wolfenstein.
04:25Obviously, we've made a number of Wolfenstein games as well.
04:29But Machine Games, who's making New Colossus, is bringing that to the Nintendo Switch in 2018.
04:39I'm just excited for Doom and Nintendo to be in the same sentence again.
04:44My first experience with Doom was Doom 64.
04:47And I know I should have played the original PC and all that stuff, but I just wasn't a PC
04:52guy in my house and we didn't have one.
04:54And so, like, as soon as it came out on the 64, you know, a piece of hardware that I
04:59loved, getting to play Doom on that was just awesome.
05:02You know, it was such an awesome experience.
05:04And now all these years later, I was a huge fan of that game.
05:08And then all these years later to have it, I'm super excited.
05:12You know, we're all super excited. Like you said, I mean, it's Nintendo.
05:14You won't find another game like this on the Nintendo Switch right now, which is what I think we're really
05:19excited about is Doom.
05:20Doom really kind of establishes its own space and has its own very own feel and unique feel.
05:28And it really is perfect kind of on the go game. You can just play for 20 or 30 minutes.
05:35We're very happy to announce that you'll be getting your hands on it November 10th.
05:40So you'll have any time for all of those holiday meals at Aunt Esther's house.
05:46When you're bored to tears, you can go in the corner and fire up your Nintendo Switch and play Doom
05:52and slay demons while everybody's, I don't know, eating fruitcake.
