04:21You're going to see a limited scope of some core systems.
04:24This was our first pre-alpha, which was really more of a friends and family for us.
04:28It was very technical on the side of getting users into the game in the single zone, testing some of
04:36the core experience, progression,
04:41and node development was very important for us, unlocking certain things like different dungeons and spawn tables and all that
04:47kind of stuff.

09:42So, uh, the, uh, the Dunaheim dungeon actually, um, is a dwarven, uh, was once a dwarven city, actually.
09:49The dwarven city of Dunaheim.
09:51And, uh, during the fall, uh, of Vera, uh, this, the inhabitants of the city actually stayed in the mountain.
10:02And, uh, oh, Peter's dead.
10:05And, uh, they tried to ride out the, uh, the calamity that befell there.
10:11And it didn't end up too good for them.
10:13So, there are great artifacts and treasures in this area.
10:17Uh, it's a part of the Alpha Zero, uh, map.
10:22And, uh, it is an open world dungeon.
10:25So, as you can see, the monsters here are pretty strong.
10:27Intended for a party, obviously.

14:38Um, so an angry lemon, this is from the forums, asks, uh, or says, I'm curious about the stealth
14:44system.
14:45Let's play that, let's say there's a player using the stealth skill in front of me.
14:49Will I be able to spot him if I look carefully at my screen, or do I need the skill
14:52to spot

14:56Um, good question.
14:59I'm sorry, I was focusing on killing this thing.

15:04Um, yeah, so it's a little bit of both.
15:06Um, I think we're going to go for kind of like a pseudo-Predator kind of style stealth.
15:10So if you're paying attention to what's going on, um, there will be indicators that will
15:14help you to kind of feel out where a stealth person might be.
15:18Um, but then also, uh, classes like the Ranger will have tracking abilities that'll help also
15:24in that, um, it'll make it a little bit more, um, apparent.
15:28It'll be always important to have, uh, a Ranger or something like a Ranger in your party to, to
15:33make sure you're protected from the stealth side of things.
15:38And, of course, that's all, like, uh, build-based kind of thing, so not all Rangers will be good
15:44at detecting stealth, but, um, some Rangers will be.

16:35Um, nsheffle asks, uh, what steps are being taken to identify duplicated items, remove them
16:41from the game, and to deal with those who exploit bug mechanics to duplicate items on a large scale?
16:47Um, duplication is not the only kind of exploit that we're looking at now.
16:50We're looking at all sorts of different exploits, and we're actually building the game around that idea.
16:54I think we've said this before, but, um, I think it's always good to repeat it, um,
16:58and let people know exactly how serious we're taking this.
17:04Uh, people who are caught duplicating items will suffer pretty severe consequences.
17:09Um, it's as severe as, uh, permanent ban from the game?

17:18Oh, sorry, I said, anybody caught duplicating items or cheating in that way is going to be banned from the
17:23game, absolutely.
17:24And we do have, we have metrics and, uh, systems in place to make sure that that's quickly caught and
17:28dealt with.

19:04Uh, most, uh, 69 says, uh, do caravans scale up and down in relation to the node which launches
19:11them?
19:11So I think he's talking about the quest, uh, versions, uh, the kind of node-based ones,
19:16not the player-created ones.
19:17Um, for example, does a city caravan have more guards?
19:20Is it faster?
19:21Can it carry more goods?
19:22Are the horses of a computer than, say, like, a town caravan?
19:25Um, and the answer to that is, um, yes, they will.
19:37Um, again, there's two different types of caravans.
19:40Um, player-created ones will kind of really just depend on what the players are doing,
19:45but for the ones that are launched by the city or the town themselves, uh, they will upgrade,
19:49um, as the node upgrades, too.
19:53I love this dungeon.

25:25What will be the incentives for keeping a node leveled
25:28after being content associated with it?
25:30Why won't we want to siege down our own node
25:32to gain access to new stuff?
25:34Will we lose access to rare resources
25:36associated with that node or something?
25:40That's a good question.
25:42And the answer is that
25:44nodes, as they develop,
25:46unlock additional services,
25:48features, progression of buildings in the node,
25:52a lot of things that are beneficial
25:53to citizens of that node
25:55or players who may make a home or freehold in that area.
26:00Obviously, if the node is destroyed,
26:02those advancements are lost.
26:04Additionally, something that we'll touch on in a future blog
26:07is our relic system
26:09that I won't go into too much detail here,
26:11but relics are achievements for the node
26:13that unlock over time
26:16and allow the ability
26:18to craft specific legendary types of items
26:21and or progress in specific legendary quest lines.
26:24So not only does a node's development and location
26:27determine spawns and access to dungeons and quest lines,
26:31but its advancement over time
26:33also unlocks further features.
26:37Yeah, so in other words,
26:38there's a lot of push-pull
26:39between wanting to raise a node
26:43and wanting to kind of maintain it.
26:45And we really want the people
26:46who call that node home
26:47to want to maintain it.
26:49So there's going to be plenty of stuff
26:50for people to call home
26:52and want to defend it.
26:56Gosh, these monsters are so much easier.
27:00They are.
27:01It's almost like killing solo monsters
27:03with a party is easier than a dungeon.
27:07Oh, hey, we found the node.

27:12It is a village stage.
27:14I'm going to guess that Sorrow's Hunger
27:16probably has been murdering
27:18all the NPCs inside of this town.

27:27So one of the other interesting things
27:28that I know many of you
27:29have probably heard this before,
27:30but as nodes advance,
27:32events get triggered
27:33and if players do not respond
27:35to these events,
27:36they can severely disable your cities,
27:40such as Sorrow's Hunger,
27:42which you're probably about to see here
27:43in a second,
27:44is this rampaging monster
27:47that has been summoned
27:48by the activity of players
27:49in this area
27:50and has found this point of civilization
27:52and it doesn't like that.
27:55So.

28:01So I guess most of us are human
28:03because this node populated
28:04as a human node.
28:12Did the good citizens
28:13of this village fight off Sorrow's Hunger?
