00:09It is now in session in the case of the King vs. Pioneer Electric Company.
00:18As this is a bench trial, all arguments will be made to me, Judge Virgil Wakefield.
00:26Counselor Avery, you may present the prosecution's opening statement.
00:30Thank you, Your Honor. If it may please the court.
00:37Well, we're all here today to talk about how Pioneer Electric colluded with their own insurance company
00:44to cover up the cause of a devastating wildfire that tore through a national park
00:49and destroyed most of the town of Benson Hills.
00:52But I'd like to talk about dreams, dreams of a playhouse where a town can come together
01:01to create joy and community, dreams of protecting land from the pursuit of profit to preserve
01:08its beauty for future generations, and sadly, the dreams of so many families who lost the
01:14most precious thing they could ever own in their lives, their homes.
01:18What compensation can there possibly be for lost holidays?
01:25Our only compensation is justice.
01:28It is justice, and it is justice that we seek here today.
01:30It is justice that we seek here today.
01:31It is justice that we seek here today.
