00:04Yeah, personally I do prefer to see him play because he's one of the best players in the world
00:08and I always like to see him in action.
00:11I've seen him in major tournaments, in Champions Leagues
00:14and he's a really brilliant player to watch, really strong, really powerful.
00:20So yeah, personally I'm looking forward to seeing him.
00:22I think if you ask Pep Guardiola, he probably isn't too happy to see him on that squad list
00:28but it's a test that they've got to be ready for.
00:32They know how difficult it is playing against Mbappe.
00:35He scored a hat-trick against them last season, didn't he?
00:39And he's got a really good record against Man City so they will be prepared for that.
00:43They need to obviously be very alert.
00:46Some of the Man City defenders don't really have that much pace
00:49so it'll be interesting to see whether he changes his plan to try and combat Mbappe
00:54but it certainly gives the tie a bit more spice, doesn't it?
00:59I think from a Manchester City point of view, you'd obviously not want him to play
01:03just because of the quality of player that he is, what he can do on the ball.
01:08I think, as you say, our Bolo's team has been playing without him, got some decent results.
01:12I think from a City point of view, if you don't have Mbappe in the team,
01:16you don't have Mbappe on the pitch, you've got a better chance of not conceding a goal
01:20and we know that Man City can't afford to concede a goal tomorrow.
01:23So, I think Noam Mbappe is good for Manchester City, even though they've been playing without him
01:29and not been doing it overly badly.
01:31Well, Kylian Mbappe is a fantastic player.
01:34If he was to play tomorrow, I think that would be very problematic for City.
01:39We know he's got a phenomenal goal-scoring record.
01:42City really need to keep it tight at the back tomorrow.
01:45They really can't afford to concede any goals.
01:48They may have a chance of scoring the three goals that they need
01:51but it's important they don't concede.
01:54And if Kylian Mbappe is playing, it's going to be a lot harder for them
01:57to prevent them scoring than if he wasn't playing, obviously.
02:07I think they do have a small, maybe 10% chance of doing it.
02:12I've been in the stadium before when they've needed big performances
02:16and they've come up with them.
02:18I think back to that 4-0 win over Real Madrid here.
02:21It was just incredible.
02:22Best performance I've ever seen.
02:24But the difference between that team and this team is quite stark.
02:28They don't really know each other that well.
02:30It's a team that's sort of been in transition at the moment.
02:33So they're not quite up to that level.
02:35But I think if they score the first goal, they will believe that they've got a chance.
02:42The problem is that defensively, they've got to keep a clean sheet.
02:45If they don't keep a clean sheet, they don't want to be chasing four, five, six goals.
02:50It'll just become impossible.
02:52So I think if they go in tomorrow at halftime, 1-0 up,
02:57they'll be very happy with how it's going.
03:00And then they'll just kind of throw everything at Real Madrid in the second half.
03:03There'll be a lot of goals in that tie tomorrow.
03:07Personally, I can't see it happening.
03:09I don't think it's likely.
03:10But then again, you never know that these things have happened in football before.
03:14Pep Guardiola has just been talking about the great fight back they produced against Aston Villa
03:18when they scored three goals in the space of 20 minutes or so a few years ago to win the
03:23Premier League.
03:24It can be done.
03:25They are capable.
03:26They've got some very good players.
03:27If they can get the crowd behind them, whip up a fantastic atmosphere at Starkwell,
03:32yes, maybe it's possible.
03:33I think you look at Manchester City's team, the quality that they've got.
03:37I don't think you can put it past them.
03:39I don't think you can completely write them off.
03:42But at the same time, it's a massive deficit that they've got to make up.
03:46I think if you look at the first leg at the Bernabeu,
03:48there were a lot of half chances that City had that they didn't really take or didn't get on the
03:52end of.
03:52But I think if you flip that the other way around and they get on the end of it this
03:57time,
03:57I could see them probably scoring early and putting the pressure on.
04:01But I think it's a big deficit and it's a long way back for City for sure.
04:11I originally thought a few months ago that he could leave, that this could be his final season.
04:16Certainly people I spoke to were saying that he could leave.
04:19But in the last couple of weeks when he's been speaking at his press conferences,
04:23he's been speaking about next season, like what he's planning for next season
04:27in terms of players and how they play and their development.
04:31And I don't think he'd do that without being here himself.
04:35But the honest question is that I don't know.
04:37I think he probably doesn't know himself.
04:39So it'll be decided in the next few weeks.
04:43I think certainly from knowing how he works, how he operates,
04:48if they don't win something this season, he's more likely to stay
04:51because it'll make him more hungry to win something next season.
04:55So, yeah, at the moment we don't know.
04:57It'll become apparent in the next few weeks.
05:01Potentially.
05:02It's been a very difficult week.
05:04There's no doubt about that.
05:05What happened in the Bernabeu was very...
05:09We'll have hit them hard.
05:10And then to go to West Ham and not get the result they wanted,
05:12it's left nine points behind in the Premier League.
05:15The two trophies that they want to win the most,
05:18within the space of a few days,
05:20have potentially missed out on them both, really.
05:22So that will be hard to take.
05:24Obviously, we've got the Carabao Cup final to come up in a week's time.
05:27They'll want to go and win that.
05:30But, yeah, I mean, it's going to be 10 years for Guardiola at City this summer.
05:35It's fair to say we are closer to the end than the beginning.
05:38We're never quite sure.
05:40But, yeah, we are potentially seeing the beginning of the end here.
05:45It's a difficult one because you look at, as you say,
05:48where they are this season, where they were last season,
05:50although they had a lot of troubles with injuries and stuff.
05:53You sort of...
05:54I can see both sides of it.
05:55You listen to him in a press conference
05:57and you think that some things he says,
05:59you think, OK, he might be towards the end.
06:02But then you look at the way they've rebuilt this team,
06:04the transfers they've brought in, the new players.
06:06It's a completely new generation of Manchester City
06:09and he will want to try and...
06:10I'd imagine he'd want to try and see what he's started with this generation
06:14and try and see it out.
06:16I think he'd want to go out on a high.
06:19But he's been here for so long,
06:21I don't think that you can begrudge him for wanting to leave.
06:26But also, I think if he does stay,
06:28I think the City fans will back him completely.
06:30If I had to put my money on it,
06:33I'd say that he'll be here next season.
06:34And I think he will try and see out this project for a little longer.
