Major U.S. airline CEOs urge Congress to restore DHS funding and guarantee pay for aviation workers during the government shutdown.

00:02The CEOs of American, Delta, Southwest, and JetBlue urged Congress to restore funding to
00:08the Department of Homeland Security during the partial government shutdown, according to CNBC.
00:13They also called for a bipartisan solution to ensure federal aviation workers,
00:17including airport security officers, continue receiving pay.
00:21The letter urged Congress to pass the Aviation Funding Solvency Act and the Aviation Funding
00:26Stability Act to guarantee pay for air traffic controllers during government shutdowns.
00:30The CEOs also called for passage of the Keep America Flying Act to provide the same pay
00:35protections for Transportation Security Administration officers.
00:39The shutdown affects DHS, which includes TSA, after Democrats refused funding over immigration
00:45enforcement concerns.
00:46The CEOs said the stakes are high as spring break travel increases and major events,
00:51such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup and America's 250th anniversary approach.
