00:00¿Is AI going to create jobs or destroy jobs overall?
00:03Yeah, I think one of the unfortunate things of the narrative in the West is
00:08it will destroy humanity's jobs of, like, you know,
00:15you went to an elite school and you studied philosophy.
00:19I'll use myself as an example.
00:22I did too.
00:23Yeah, hopefully you have some other skill.
00:27That one is going to be hard to market.
00:30But it was always hard to market.
00:32It was hard to market, very hard.
00:34It was a good education.
00:35A very, very strong education.
00:36If you can get a job, you might keep it.
00:38At the heart, that's what I always thought.
00:39It was, like, if I finally get a job, I'll probably keep it and do well,
00:42but I'm not sure who's going to give me my first job.
00:49And, but, like, technicians, if you're a vocational technician
00:55or, like, we're building batteries for a battery company
00:58and the people who are doing it in America are doing roughly the same job
01:03that Japanese engineers are doing, and they went to high school.
01:05And now they're very valuable, if not irreplaceable,
01:09because we can make them into something different than what they were very rapidly.
01:14And those jobs are going to become more valuable.
01:18I mean, you know, not to diverge into my usual political screeds,
01:23but there will be more than enough jobs for the citizens of your nation,
01:28especially those with vocational training.
01:30I do think these trends really do make it hard to imagine
01:35why we should have large-scale immigration unless you have a very specialized skill.
