00:02Revving up and ready to go.
00:10The race is on to restore this Outback Motocross Club to its former glory.
00:15Having a track like right there is going to be the best thing ever because we can wake up from
00:19our own beds,
00:20have a normal brekkie back of the legs and then go ride.
00:23It was one of the strongest motorsport communities in WA's North West
00:27but the Newman Motocross Club fell on hard times.
00:31So unfortunately due to all the constant damage this is our security system.
00:36The club folded during the pandemic and was deregistered.
00:39The racetrack and clubhouse were taken over by the local shire.
00:43Everything has been left as is the day that it was shut up and walked away from town.
00:49So we've got a lot of damage here, all of our fridges are damaged.
00:53All of our memorabilia, our trophies that we give out after the end of competitions are all missing.
00:59People are unauthorised in those facilities and kids will always be kids so it's hard to try and manage that.
01:06Almost five years since the last race was held here and the keys are being handed back to the recently
01:12reformed motocross club.
01:13But there's still thousands of dollars needed for this ground to be ready for the crowds and competitions that it
01:19was so famous for.
01:20It's hoped that the effort will bring the community together.
01:23We are a mining town so it does attract a lot of trades and you know people that like raw
01:31horsepower I suppose you would say.
01:33Probably because there's nothing else to do.
01:35Just something because there's so much dirt and area to do it.
01:39Why not do it?
01:41There might be obstacles ahead but these riders remain eager to get back on track.
01:46You are going to have not getting morechecked.
01:47We will go back to the last few in.
01:47If you are, they have to be around for a while at the last time.
