00:23e poi vice primo ministro, quindi vice premier. Sir, what is your view, what is your interpretation
00:33of the attacks against the American Italian base in Erbil last night? Who did it?
00:42Well, the Iraqi Shia militias attacked the Italian contingents in Erbil airport, which they are part
00:51of the international coalition, who are helping us to defeat ISIS. And these attacks have
00:59been frequent and mostly coming from Iraqi Shia militias, actually, who have aligned themselves
01:07with the war efforts of Iran against the United States and everybody else, to be honest.
01:14So, Minister, sorry, Mr. Dabari, so why they do that? These are militia who are paid
01:20by the Iraqi government, but they are at the service, at the order of the Tehran, of the Tehran regime.
01:26What to do with them? Well, it needs to be dismantled, to be integrated within the Iraqi
01:32security forces. You cannot run a state, you cannot build a state with two armies or multiple militias.
01:40of course, they are challenged to any Iraqi government and we are suffering from their actions. They are
01:52bombarding not only our coalition friends, the Italian, the American here, but our infrastructure,
02:00hotels, oil fields, and civilian projects, and so on. So, yes, you are right. They have a dual
02:11loyalty. They are at the pay of the Iraqi government. Iraq spends 3 billion US dollars annually on
02:20these militias, but their loyalty is for another country.
02:25Do you consider the Italian contingent still useful? Do you think they should stay here?
02:28I think they should stay. They have been extremely useful, helpful. They have helped us a great deal.
02:35They have protected some of our most important infrastructure in the past, like the Mosul Dam,
02:42and they have helped to maintain it. And also, in terms of providing training and capacity building for
02:52our Peshmerga forces, they are much needed their service.
02:56to make care of the public.
02:58to make a country
02:59to make a country
02:59that the American mercy is where we have to live.
03:00Grazie.
