00:42So, guys, my very first question is, this prequel leans heavily into Pennywise's mythology.
00:48What was your guiding principle in revealing just enough without giving everything away
00:54since that you're planning three seasons, each one set in a different historical period?
01:00Well, there's a big, big arc that we concocted at the beginning of this thing.
01:06And, of course, it's an arc, it's a story that spans through three seasons.
01:11And the guiding principle is very tied to that longer story, which we can't fully reveal.
01:20But mainly the other guiding principles is about sticking to the interludes of the book, to
01:31those main three events, catastrophic events of the burning of the Black Spot, the massacre
01:38of the Bradley Gang, and the explosion of the Kitchener Ironworks.
01:45It's roughly the lives and struggles of the people that lived in Derry and their battle
01:53against the evil of it.
01:57And shedding some light in all those events that are very cryptic in the book.
02:03They're full of mystery and question marks.
02:05So, you know, my curiosity, like, basically drove us to try to tell the story and shed some
02:12light and explore.
02:15And how did working with HBO change your approach in terms of tone, pacing and storytelling freedom
02:22compared to the movies?
02:24And how did you translate the cinematic atmosphere of the eight movies into a TV series format?
02:31It didn't change.
02:34We don't know how to do TV.
02:39No, no, it's a joke.
02:41But they were incredibly, incredibly supportive.
02:45And, you know, we went in with caution because we understand that, you know, it's cable and
02:55it's a different format.
02:58But to our surprise, you know, there was always support on that side coming from HBO.
03:08You know, you make it as intense as the movies because that's very much in the DNA of the property
03:19of the book.
03:21And we knew we were never going to water it down.
03:25That we knew.
03:26And we got full support.
03:28So we're very proud.
03:30And we were shot like a movie, basically.
03:32Yeah.
03:33It's really shot like style, stylistically and tonally.
03:36It's a it's a continuation of the movies.
03:39Well, it's a prequel.
03:42But you know what I mean?
03:44Yeah.
03:44So Welcome to Derby arrives in time for spooky season.

03:51What are your favorite movies to watch in this time of the year?
03:55You know, I'm Italian, you're Argentina.
03:57So Halloween is not really our stuff, but you know.
04:00No, we, you know, we've been living in America for a bunch of years now.
04:04Yeah.
04:04But we're still, you know, at heart, we're deeply Argentinian.
04:09And seasons don't much, those season celebrations don't mean as much as to us.
04:16So we basically watch horror movies all year long.
04:21And we don't make a particular, you know, event of Halloween for it.
04:26But I, but we understand the, you know, the excitement.
04:29Yeah.
04:29About October and Halloween and we fully support it.
04:32So we're, you know, we're, we're cheering that, that our show comes in Halloween.
04:38And yeah.
04:40And since, you know, and since this is movie player is for Italy, you know, we, we have
04:45to say that we grow up, we grew up seeing a lot of Italian horror movies.
04:51Dario Argento.
04:53Yeah.
04:54And yes.
04:55And it's, it's something that we absolutely love.

05:20Um, well, stay away from everything.
05:23I would, I would have said, you know, in the movies, I would say is keep away from the store,
05:27from the storm drains, but there's really no safe place in this, in this town.
05:31Uh, so don't go to grocery stores.
05:33Don't go to, uh, to movie theaters.
05:37Don't go to storm drains.
05:39Don't go to your own bedroom.
05:41Uh, so the list is pretty, it's pretty long.
