00:04This game takes and it takes. The game's finally giving me something back.
00:11So in the beginning, in which aspect do you think golf is like life?
00:18Well, for me, it would be that it's very frustrating and it takes a long time to get the ball
00:27in the hole.
00:31But when you finally do, you feel like you've achieved something great.
00:36Exactly. That's great.
00:39For Mariana?
00:40Well, I think in many senses, it's a game that really is very metaphorical of life in many aspects.
00:51You have to, you know, it's a more slow paced sport and you get to walk through 18 holes.
00:58It's almost like a journey as well.
01:00You have to, you know, move in with time and be dealing with obstacles that come along the way, just
01:06like in life.
01:07And also the fact that, you know, you have to make all this strategy to get that little ball that
01:14seems like the smallest.
01:15Well, ping pong is smallest, perhaps, but golf is really small into that hole that seems like impossible.
01:22But when it becomes possible, you know, that's part of the mindset that it detonates, you know, that things that
01:29you seem deem impossible are possible through this strategy, through this, you know, trying to find out how to do
01:35it.
01:36And we have that human ability in ourselves as well.
01:39And it's, and it's...
01:41And almost nobody masters it.
01:43Yeah.
01:44Yes.
01:48Actors feel pressure like golfers.
01:51Do you think it's, it's true?
01:54The what I'm sorry?
01:55Actors feel pressure like golfers.
01:57Yes.
01:58I don't know.
01:59I, I think that, you know, with acting or with, you know, being in character, I think, I don't think
02:06it's the same kind of pressure because you're kind of, you know, once you, you, you kind of lock in
02:13to the emotions
02:14of, of who you're playing, you're with other people.
02:18So like, it's very different.
02:20You know, golf is a very solitary game, really.
02:23It's really about you challenging yourself.
02:25But I think so much of acting is about connection and listening and, you know, feeling what's happening in the
02:34moment.
02:35I think it's a lot more immediate than golfing.
02:39Yeah.
02:39We do have an audience as well, which is a similarity that there is like the, the eyes on the
02:45action that is being done.
02:48And, and as Mark says, it's a different dynamic, much more solitary, much more internalized.
02:54Well, acting, of course it is internalized, but we do have the eyes on audience expectant of what you're going
03:01to do next.
03:02And connecting to that and celebrating with you along the way.
03:07The show says face reality.
03:10Why is reality so scary for so many people?
03:14Because life is hard.
03:16Yes.
03:17And, you know, you're up against your own mind in terms of how you're processing the life you're living in
03:23and, and, you know, learning more about, you know, who you are in relation to the reality you're moving through.
03:30I think it's very challenging, you know, and, and reality is a little bit different for everyone internally and how
03:37they face those struggles and, you know, rise above them or get beaten up by them is a very individual
03:43journey.
03:44So reality is kind of a, a fluid concept, you know?
03:48Yeah.
03:49And also like golf, uh, also there's a commentary because even if you really do your best to calculate your
03:59swing and taking consideration all the outer aspects, there's always going to be a part that is, you cannot control
04:06it.
04:06You know, a variable of, of, you know, something outside of forces that are working around you and that you
04:14have, the outcome is not always going to be what you want.
04:17Yeah, that's for sure.
04:19Yeah.
04:19You have very little control of almost everything.
04:22Yeah.
04:23Price lives in the, in the past.
04:25Do you think we are too nostalgic nowadays?
04:29Too nostalgic?
04:30Yeah.
04:31No, I, I think that like more than nostalgia, I think that when people have a life where they, something
04:41happens that disrupts the entire trajectory of their life, it's, it's, it's, it's not really nostalgia.
04:49It's, you know, you, this feeling like you blew it or that, you know, it didn't go the way you
04:55wanted to.
04:55And I think on some level you want to, you want to do over, you want to another chance.
05:02So I, I think his nostalgia outside of, of, you know, his sadness is, is, is more like, you know,
05:10like I just, I, you know, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't do what I was supposed to do and
05:15I may never get to do it again.
05:17And now I have this opportunity to live through this, this kid and, and, and, and help him along.
05:23So I don't see it as really nostalgia as much as a kind of, you know, regret, disappointment, and, and
05:32then the sort of idea that, you know, maybe you get a second chance.
05:36Yeah.
05:37Thank you. Thank you for your time. Bye.
05:39Thank you. Ciao.
05:40Ciao.
05:41Takes a bullet and bleeds out at the end.
05:42Why? That's so unnecessary.
05:58Take a bullet and bleeds out at the end.
