00:02To be clear, nobody asked you to stay up all night
00:05during the crossword.
00:06All those empty squares were taunting me.
00:11I looked through puzzles for the last ten years,
00:15and I found a pattern in Morris Long's editing.
00:17The earlier puzzles are definitely more intellectually challenging.
00:21They include harder words,
00:23and there are an awful lot of references to Anais Nin.
00:27And the newer puzzles lean into pop culture
00:30and youthful expression.
00:31I could have told you that.
00:33Yeah, but it's still a fun way to pass the time
00:35while I drink my expensive coffee.
00:37But then there's today's puzzle.
00:40There's something off about it.
00:43It feels old-fashioned.
00:46Take 23 across.
00:48The clue is to behave in a humble or servile way,
00:53and the only thing that fits is cringe,
00:55which is one definition of the word.
00:57Unless you're 135, then it means something else.
01:00According to my children,
01:01it's cringe when Claudia and I dance in the kitchen.
01:05Exactly.
01:06Although I disagree with your kids.
01:08I think that sounds really sweet.
01:09Oh.
01:10So why...
01:14Wait.
01:16When did Morris Long edit this puzzle?
01:25Or do you think I can exceed the puzzle Ting?
01:26The other Oh, no.
01:26It's a magic 이런.
01:26There are two things that you want to do.
01:26You are not there.
01:26You can't do anything else.
